  • A small one, but Jason telling his grandfather Silas that he loves him. Especially given what a monster Silas is.
  • Mercedes telling Myra that she and her sisters will always need her as a mother. Especially potent since the family doesn't tend to get along at the best of times.
  • Jacqui McQueen coming to Lynsey's aid when no-one else was concerning about Silas being the serial killer.
  • Myra is good at these. She tells Carmel that she can't believe someone so beautiful came from her, and later tells Mercedes that she looks like 'an angel wrapped up in a princess' on her wedding day.
  • The Lomax family making peace with each other and having a group hug after Danny and Sam's deaths, Ste's suicide attempt, and the reveal of Leela being Peri's real mother, with the girls accepting Ste as their brother.
  • Ste awkwardly trying to tell Leah and Lucas that he's marrying Doug the next day; but he can't find the words. Leah says "We know you're marrying Doug. We love Doug" and hugs Ste.
  • After everything that happened between Holly and Nick, Dirk finally decides to show Holly that he really is on her side by giving her a pretty necklace with 'from dad' engraved on the back of it. Holly's response is to hug him and call him dad.
  • The tender way Misbah talked to her youngest daughter Yasmine after the motorbike/car crash May 2017. Yasmine has a heart condition and passed out on the way to a party in the car driven by Prince McQueen even though he didn't have a license, being only just sixteen. Yasmine wakes up in hospital, sees her mother and smiles weakly in relief, apparently having thought she'd never see her mum again. Despite what an awful person she can be, you can't help but feel a bit sorry for her after how fragile she appears.

Misbah: *gently takes Yasmine's hand* Hello, sleepyhead! *smoothes Yasmine's hair tenderly* You've had quite an adventure.
    Yasmine: I.. I wasn't drinking, I promise!
Misbah: *smiles* I know that. We did every blood test under the sun! You said you were going to a study session.
    Yasmine: I was!
Misbah In the middle of a field? And I thought your sister was the rebellious one! Come here. *kisses Yasmine on the forehead while hugging her tightly* If anything happened to you... Don't scare us like that again!
    Yasmine I won't.
  • There have been quite a few with Sid, which also double as a Tear Jerker.
    • Sienna bonding with and trying to help Sid as they had similar traumatic backgrounds. When Sid leaves to go to foster care he runs back and hugs Sienna.
    • Sid is eventually fostered by Leela Lomax. In a scene where it's obvious how lonely Sid is and when he tells her he feels like he's a let down, she hugs him and tells him he's a clever boy and she believes he can achieve anything he wants and encourages him to focus on his passion for playing the guitar, and he isn't alone because he's got her and Peri. In fact, the way that the Lomax family come to consider Sid as one of their own in general, with Peri referring to him as her "brother", and Ste referring to Sid as family a few times.
    • Juliet helps Sid find the courage to consent to having his leg amputated after it has become too badly damaged after an accident. And after the amputation, Courtney (who is a wheelchair user) helps him come to terms with his disability. Then there's the moment when Sid is to go to specialist treatment at another hospital he manages to get up and walk into the ambulance on his crutches.
    • Sid's confidence is knocked due to everything that has happened to him, and he thinks that everyone will laugh at him if he tells them that he wants to become a police officer so he can help other kids from being involved with drug dealing like he was. It turns out people are supportive, with teachers Courtney, Sally and Nancy and his mate Imran saying how much they admire him for it. Sid smiles, something he's rarely had a chance to do.
