Heartwarming / Gabriel Iglesias

Go To

  • When Frankie watches an ad for Disneyland and is excited over it being the "happiest place in the world", he woke Gabriel up to show him. Gabriel, however, was cranky from this and asked why he was so excited about it and if he ever went there, accidentally causing Frankie to cry because his (biological) father never took him. Gabriel makes up with it by taking him, despite his disdain for it (specifically, their fluffy-unfriendly rides) he made vocal in this and previous shows except that he later finds out Frankie wanted to go there more on the fact it was "the happiest place in the world" and less on the fact he wanted to get on the rides, leading to Gabriel, after learning this fact, to tell him the happiest place is really IHOP.
    • During a subsequent conversation Frankie had with Gabriel at said IHOP, the two talk about their dads (neither of which are in their lives), and when Gabriel asks Frankie if he'd ever like to meet his "real" dad, Frankie responds "But you are my real dad." Daaaaawww....
    • "I want my last name to be "Iglesias"!" Awww....
    • At the end of The Fluffy Movie, Gabriel launches into a story about how his father re-appeared in his life, only to learn that not long after he managed to establish peace with his estranged father, Frankie's biological father contacted him about re-establishing contact with Frankie. After talking to Frankie about how it took him almost 30 years to come to terms with his father, Frankie tells Gabriel that he's also willing to wait that long as well. The film ends with a dedication to the step-parents who take an active role in the kids' lives.
      • Even better, when Gabe tries to tell Frankie that his biological father wanted to see him, he said rather vaguely, "Your dad wants to speak to you." Frankie just looks at Gabriel, taps himself in the chest, and says "I'm right here." Gabe admits it hit him right in the heart, knowing that to Frankie, he really is, for all intents and purposes, his dad.
      • Sadly, Gabriel and Frankie's mom split in 2017. But he's made it clear since then that Frankie (now in his twenties) is still very much in his life.
  • Gabriel describes his experiences in Saudi Arabia during his "Aloha Fluffy" special. Of particular note is the prince who had hired him thanking Gabe for uniting his people, letting everyone have a good time.
I want to thank you, for coming here to Riyadh, and doing all of these shows; it was so beautiful to see everyone having such an amazing time. From the little children in attendance, all the way to the elderly people with the cane—everyone having an amazing time, everyone! It was beautiful, okay, beautiful! Religious people, laughing! Religious police, laughing! They don't laugh at shit. I want you to understand how big this is: there was an American here, entertaining people from Middle East; there was no violence, no bloodshed, no problems. Everybody was smiling, everybody was getting along, it is possible! An American was here, an American was here! I want to thank you, Gabriel; I want to invite you and your friends to my palace, so that I may entertain you.
  • In "One Show Fits All", his story about his mom meeting singer Vicente Fernandez. Despite her age and health, she stood for the entire three hour performance. Her picture with Vicente (where she was smiling more than any other photo she's ever been in) was also the last photo Gabriel has of her before her death.
  • In "Stadium Fluffy", Gabriel starts his show recounting to everyone in his packed stadium show that he started at Garage gigs and other small venues, now he's headlining an entire stadium show and gets emotional before he even starts.
  • During the "Stadium Fluffy" show, Gabriel talks about his talk with Frankie, and Frankie let's him know that he doesn't want him to make fun of him anymore, as throughout the years, Frankie really has been affected by them, especially the Deodorant story. Gabriel tells him why he does it, but doesn't excuse himself, and out of respect for his son, he tells the crowd that he will no longer be telling embarrassing stories involving his son anymore.
