Heartwarming / Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

  • Just how animated and happy Frieren is when interacting with Old Man Voll in chapter 33, giving the viewer a insight to how different the current Frieren is when given the opportunity to bond with someone she considers both a peer and a friend (as opposed to the senior/junior dynamics she has with most other characters).
  • As the series goes on, Fern and Stark's deepening relationship is shown subtly between the more overt bonding moments they have. Namely, they begin to often walk closer to each other than they do with Frieren, and Fern begins to sit next to Stark when they eat (whereas in earlier chapters she would usually sit away from him or with Frieren). Her accusing him of perverted intentions also largely ceases.
  • The subtle way Serie's love for Flamme is shown beneath her dismissive words. As she recounts Flamme's dream, we see Flamme as a child walking with her, holding her hand and smiling up at her adoringly. Flamme herself smiles slightly as she remembers this, and even moves as if she were still holding child Flamme's hand. Her perspective on her subsequent students through the centuries is similarly heartwarming, her memories of them using their spells all being presented as beautiful, triumphant things in her memory despite most of them not actually going down in history. To her they were all precious and irreplaceable.
  • The relationship between Glück and Macht, it's possibly the only moment of cooperation between humans and demons in history, and it is built on the fact that both are aware and accepting that one of them will try and stab the other in the back at some point. Over the several decades they spend as companions, both come to deeply care for each other, to the point that, despite having the kind of morality one would expect in an eccentric demon, Macht actively seeks out his old friend when he knows he's dying, so they can share One Last Smoke before he gets his long overdue punishment.
  • The Time Travel arc is one for Himmel, as we find he got to experience who Frieren became because of her journey with him, meaning his 50 years apart from her were not as sad as it may have otherwise been, as he knew the fruit that would eventually be born in her, even if it was well after his death; and the care she developed for him. A "euphoric dream" indeed.
