Heartwarming / For His Own Sake

• Chapter 1: Haruka fully supporting Keitaro and apologizing to him for the troubles he went through.
• Chapter 2: Haruka telling Hina that it is Keitaro's choice and she has to respect that. Later on when Keitaro arrives at Shinsuke's apartment, Shinsuke is there to greet him warmly, and to give Keitaro a safe place where he can have a good night's rest after what he has gone through.
• Chapter 3: Shinsuke's wife Isana providing food for Keitaro to eat for breakfast before she's personally met him.
• Chapter 4: Seta blocking Naru's attempt to punch Keitaro in the face.
• Chapter 5: Seta standing up for Keitaro and letting him leave early to go home.
  • Nanami and Kyoshiro doing their best to help out Keitaro by dealing with the Hinata Inn tenants. Kyoshiro driving to Shinsuke's apartment to apologize while Nanami and Kanako call out Hina for playing with Keitaro's life.
  • While it unfortunately doesn't stick, Granny Hina is clearly horrified upon hearing what the girls have put her grandson through, and muses to herself that it's her fault the harmony in the inn has been so disrupted. She's also saddened by the thought of losing her grandson's respect.
  • Isana greeting Keitaro warmly when they met for the first time.
• Chapter 6: Shinsuke being a good boss to Keitaro, and giving him a tour around the apartment. He also invites him over for dinner.
  • Kazuya also gives Keitaro a warm welcome.
• In Chapter 7: Shinsuke introducing Keitaro to Nagisa and they get along rather quickly. When Kyoshiro arrives, Shinsuke immediately invites him to dinner.
• Chapter 9: Nagisa cheering up Keitaro when he was feeling down, and coming along with him when Keitaro went to Ritsuko's apartment to fix her in-wall heater.
• Chapter 10: Haruka and Kyoshiro defending Keitaro when Marumi insults him.
  • Even though she's mad at Keitaro for getting her son Yoshinari hurt, Marumi isn't happy with Hina for setting him up.
• Chapter 11: Keitaro meeting up with his old friends Shirai and Haitani, who after hearing what happened at the inn, gave him their support.
  • Keitaro, despite feeling uncomfortable with Shinobu, being willing to hear her out.
• Chapter 12: Keitaro ends up watching Nagisa practice her moves at the apartment dojo. Nagisa responds with amusement and invites him to come practice with her. After a short spar, Nagisa offers to train Keitaro, something he quickly accepts. Nagisa is also very comfortable with Keitaro, enough to tell him her reasons for helping him- a story that involves a friend of hers who was just like him.
  • Marumi coming to the cemetery and meeting up with Kyoshiro and Hina to give their respects at Yoko's grave.
• Chapter 13: Nagisa deciding to tell Keitaro the story of her friend, despite how painful it was for her given that he died tragically, and the person who killed him got away with it.
  • Keitaro and Kanako having a good sibling bonding experience after having so much interference with the earlier ones.
• Chapter 14 reveals that, when Naru tried to assault Shinobu, Haruka defended her, with Kitsune calling Naru out on her actions, even though she also didn't like what Shinobu had said.
• Chapter 15: Ranma Saotome makes an appearance. After everything Ranma had gone through in his own show, he found a place to be happy, and quickly becomes friends with Keitaro.
  • Shinobu's aunt Yukina taking her niece in to live with her.
• Chapter 16: Keitaro, after seeing Nagisa sad, tries to cheer her up, offering to help her if he can. Then later, when Sarah asks if they are together, Keitaro quickly says they are not, and while Nagisa replies they are just friends, she's thinking that she wouldn't mind if they were more than friends, smiling at the thought. It's touching because Keitaro, after everything he went through with Naru, has a chance to be happy with someone like Nagisa.
  • After Seta reveals he was using Keitaro, and leaves, Keitaro apologizes to Nagisa for her having to see such a sight. In response, she puts her hand on Keitaro's shoulder and tells him that what happened wasn't his fault.
  • Marumi calling out Seta on exploiting Keitaro so that Seta could get closer to Haruka (Marumi's niece), showing that under her rough exterior, she cares about her family.
• Chapter 17: Kitsune objecting to Suu's plan to brainwash Keitaro, and trying to convince Naru and Hina not to go through with it.
  • Kanako giving Keitaro a device to deactivate Suu's brainwashing machine, a device that was made by their uncle Sosuke.
• Chapter 18: Ristuko gives a hand in dealing with the machine that tried to kidnap Keitaro and later on he invites him to dinner at her apartment.
  • Saori, after her talk with Keitaro, apologizing for her mistakes with Naru, gave him a lift his parents house.
  • Keitaro telling his parents and Kanako that he is sorry.
  • Kitsune trying to call Keitaro to warn him about Suu's device.
• Chapter 19: Continuing on from the last chapter: Keitaro apologizes to his parents for not helping out and to Kanako for being hard on her. They in turn forgive him, and apologize as well for their mistakes. Keitaro admits that he'd like start over with them, something they all agree to, inviting him to come over when he can.
  • Nagisa greeting Keitaro when he gets back.
  • When Nagisa appears to have trouble, Keitaro put his hand on her shoulder, and tells her that if she's having problems or just wants to talk he will help since Nagisa (and Nagisa's family) have helped him out, and he has grown to care about her. Nagisa quickly tells him that she's fine and if she does have any trouble she'll let him know.
  • Nagisa asks Keitaro if he would mind spending the next day with her and Keitaro quickly accepts, telling her that he would love to.
  • Isana being thankful for Nagisa and Keitaro's friendship as Nagisa hasn't been as outgoing and happy since her friend, Takeru, passed away. She then hugs her daughter, telling Nagisa that all Nagisa's parents want for her is to see her happy. Nagisa smiles and says thank you.
  • Keitaro and Ristuko have a pleasant dinner together.
  • Seta accepting Keitaro's resignation and supporting his decision.
  • Keitaro meeting up with Shinobu where she apologizes to him for the hardship he went through.
  • Before meeting up with Keitaro, Marumi shows that she has a soft spot for Tama, as she tells him how cute he is.
  • Kitsune putting in a lot of effort into changing for the better, including as waking up early to do her job- and to do a good job- in the hotel they're staying at.
• Chapter 20: Marumi being willing to hear what Keitaro has to say despite being upset with him.
  • Kanako is able to attend a good high school thanks to the chairman, Ryuta Kiroshima, being friends with her parents. On her first day Kanako makes a new friend: Kyoka Mitsurugi.
  • Yoshinari showing that he still has faith in Keitaro, seeing that he is really trying.
  • Nyamo Namo, someone who never hurt Keitaro, makes an appearance.
• Chapter 21: Kitsune being very nice to the guests at the Kuromitsu inn and making plans to apologize to her mother and brother.
  • Shinobu stopping Mutsumi from interfering with Keitaro's business with Marumi, even standing her ground against Chisato and Kagura, the latter of whom killed someone.
  • Haruka helping Shinobu.
  • Kitsune running to protect children from Suu's machine despite the risks.
  • Marumi being willing to give Keitaro a chance to start over with her, Yoshinari, and Sosuke.
• Chapter 22: After Suu's robots destroy the inn and scare the guests, Sosuke helps the uninjured guests and staff by finding them a place to stay- at the Hinata inn, something Marumi quickly agrees to. Sosuke even acquires transportation for them, to get them there.
  • Keitaro offering to help Marumi with the inn, and her replying that he should go have fun with his friends.
  • Keitaro, Kazuya, Duncan, Zack, Shirai, and Haitani enjoying themselves at an arcade.
  • When Etsuko arrives at Shinsuke's apartment, she hugs her son, he hugs her back and she warmly greets Isana.
  • Isana driving Genma, Soun, and Nodoka away from the apartment for Ranma, even breaking Nodoka's arm in the process. Isana told Nodoka before the fight that Ranma wouldn't be upset with this and later on it's proven when Ranma told Nodoka that she was stupid for trying to fight Isana. The fact that Ranma bonded with Isana and Shinsuke shows how a real family cares about each other.
• Chapter 23: Keitaro telling Mutsumi to stay away from those he cares about, especially Nagisa, showing how close they've become.
  • Kazuya getting angry at Mutsumi for insulting Nagisa, demonstrating a sibling bond that is loving unlike the others that are either damaging or destructive.
  • Kanako punching Mutsumi after Mutsumi slapped Keitaro for not going along with Hina's plan.
  • When Kagura implied she will hurt Keitaro, Nagisa swore she wouldn't allow her to succeed. Nagisa also defended her friend Tamaki when Tamaki's brother keep bothering her.
  • When Motoko tried to convince Nagisa that Keitaro was bad, Nagisa told her that she is wrong about him, and that she is happy to have him around.
  • Marumi and Sosuke spending the rest of the day together after they worked so hard.
  • Marumi allowing Kitsune to be back at the inn, as Kitsune and Shinobu revive their freindship.
• Chapter 24: Kitsune deciding to make a trip to see her mother so that she can apologize to her, with and Shinobu and Haruka supporting her.
  • Hikaru telling Kitsune when she comes back, they'd hire her to be a full time employee at the Kuromitsu inn.
  • Keitaro spending the day with Nagisa, telling her it will be great.
  • Motoko finally owning up to her mistakes and making a genuine, heartfelt apology to Keitaro.
• Chapter 25: Keitaro was right; he and Nagisa have a wonderful day.
  • Ranma has taken Nyamo on as a student.
• Chapter 26: Keitaro telling Ritsuko that no matter what she did in the past, he knows she's a good person.
• Chapter 27: Despite Keitaro being captured and beaten, his main concern is for Nagisa’s and Yoshinari’s safety.
  • Nagisa and Yoshinari, once they found out about what happen to Keitaro, listen to their respective arch enemy to save him.
  • Seta making a effort to save Keitaro for Haruka’s sake.
  • Ranma, Kazuya, Nyamo, Haitani, Shirai, Zack, and Duncan pulling together to save Keitaro. It’s extra heartwarming as most of them only knew Keitaro for a few days and Duncan and Zack are just transfer students from another country and they still wanted to help him.
  • Mayako dedicates her effort to stop Kagura for Takeru’s sake.
  • Kanako doing everything she can to save her brother. Their parents are doing the same as well.
    • Tsuruko helping Kanako to rescue Keitaro and also saves Nagisa as well.
  • Mitsune’s brother vouching for her to their mother that she has changed for the better.
• Chapter 28: Keitaro telling Nagisa happily he doesn't mind that she stay with him as as he waits to surprise Chisato with his escape. He also defends her once more when Mutsumi blames her for her plans being ruined and Nagisa in turn telling Mutsumi she shouldn't force her ideas on Keitaro. The last part is at the end when Nagisa playfully does guess who on Keitaro and Keitaro says joyfully Nagisa. Keitaro noted that his one decision has led to a lot of change and Nagisa telling him he is living his own life now and should live the way he wants to. Keitaro surprised Nagisa by hugging her and in turn Nagisa hugs him back and the closing narration reveals that they are a couple now.
  • Keitaro and Yoshinari developing a brotherly bond.
  • Kitsune moving into the Kuromitsu inn as a full time employee and Shakiko and her granddaughter welcoming her back warmly.
  • Shinobu's parents work things out with each other much to Shinobu happiness.
  • Nagisa giving her support to her friend Tamaki when she confronts her brother and his friend.
  • Haruka and Marumi form a parthership of the inn and tea shop.
  • The headmistress feeling sympathy for Seta when Sarah told him she hates him.
  • Ohana showing concern for Mutsumi and tried to convince her to speak with Keitaro to apologize.
  • Hiroshi asking Saori if she is okay after dealing with Naru.
  • Nikawa helping Ritsuko with the agent sent by Gendo.
  • Nyamo comtinues to train with Ranma and he is still working on living out his life.
  • Kyoshiro and Nanami feeling happy that their children are doing so well now.
  • Kanako having a great time in high school with her friend Kyoka.
  • Although it is sad that it went to that point, Mayako willingly sacrificed herself to avenge Takeru and by extension protect Nagisa and Keitaro from Kagura.
  • Shinsuke's family became much closer to the Urashima family and their own.
