    Story
  • Paralogue 3 prrrrrretty much arms one of the most popular ships in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade with chromed-steel canon: Jaffar and Nino. The way they talk after losing makes both of their feelings and plans clear, and it's a huge moment of catharsis for many Elibe fans, many of whom started with Blazing Blade.
  • There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it example at the end of Chapter 13. Bruno did consider the Order of Heroes his friends during his time among them as Zacharias. When he speaks to Anna, he even still refers to her as "Commander."
    • From the same chapter, even after finding out that Zacharias was the fake persona of Bruno the entire time, Alfonse doesn't hold any grudges towards him and wants him back in the Order of Heroes, and still refers to him as Zacharias.
    • There is another heartwarming note that is lost in certain localizations. In French, for instance, most of the royals refer to non-sibling royals with the formal "vous", so for the majority of Book I, the Askran royals refer to Prince Bruno as such. However, in Chapter 13, as soon as he realizes Bruno is Zacharias, Alfonse immediately switches to using the familiar/informal "tu" while pleading for Bruno to explain himself. When Sharena and Anna manage to speak with Bruno, they also use "tu" with him. To drive the significance of this pronoun change home, aside from when Alfonse and Sharena speak with each other, the Askr trio never refer to anyone else (not even the Summoner in their five-star confessions) with the familiar "tu".
  • The "Performing Arts" event has Shigure and Inigo join with their moms (Azura and Olivia respectively) to sing and dance together. The two of them also wear outfits that match their mothers', which makes them look downright adorable.
  • The "World of Holy War" banner means that now Julia can fight alongside her mother (and her father with Arvis's Grand Hero Battle) and Seliph can fight alongside both of his parents. Deirdre and Julia even have the same artist, as do Seliph and Sigurd. Not to mention Sigurd can reunite with his old friend, Eldigan.
  • The beginning of the Tempest Trial Genealogy of Light has Seliph reunite with his parents as the Tempest brings them in to help Seliph find Julia.
  • The beginning of the Less Than Heroic Tempest Trial. Masked Marth asks for help from the heroes. Dorcas turns down the request, and Joshua is asking 30,000 for his service. Despite being a mercenary herself, Mia calls the two men out for hurting Marth's feelings and offers to waive the fee for her service.
  • Happy New Year:
    • In the first battle of the paralogue, Corrin's New Years fortune is "You will get along well with your brothers this year." Takumi refuses to reveal his... until the end of the battle, where it turns out his reads the same.
    • Camilla celebrating the new year with the Hoshidans. Apparently relations between Hoshido and Nohr have thawed to the point where all of Corrin's siblings can hang out.
  • Loki apparently shows some concern for Veronica, and is noticeably surprised when Surtr plans to destroy Embla and Veronica once he's finished with Askr. Alas, Book II Chapter 8 reveals that was all a lie.
    • For that matter, Veronica herself has a heartwarming moment in Chapter 4 of Book II. When Surtr intends to burn down the village the Askr group has just finished rebuilding, Veronica puts her foot down: She wants to conquer Askr, not destroy it. In her mind, that makes the villagers future citizens of Embla. Even better, her reasoning gives a Call-Back to her conversation with Seth.
    • In that same chapter, Xander also disapproves of Surtr burning down an innocent village, and prepares to defend Veronica when he threatens her.
  • The Love Abounds event has some heartwarming since the trailer's release. The chosen voice line for Lilina in the trailer? Saying how she prepared a gift for her father, Hector. Hector's line? Tears of joy about getting a gift from his little girl.
    • It becomes even better at the end of the event. Hector spent the entire thing growling about Lilina's apparent interest in Roy, only for Lilina to reveal the present she was so worried over was for him! As Sharena puts it, the event is for celebrating all love, familial included. It enters slight tear-jerking territory when Hector realizes he's already dead in Lilina's universe, but that also hammers in how wonderful it is Lilina gets one more chance to hang out with her father.
    • At the end of the Tempest Trial of the event, Roy and Eliwood get a bonding moment where Eliwood is proud of his son and Roy is happy to have fought alongside his father in his prime.
  • Despite the tenseness of Chapter 5 of Book II, there are some sweet moments: Fjorm is certain that her sister is waiting for them. Not only that, but Laevatein and her sister Laegjarn are shown to be quite close.
    • Fallen Hero Celica says that if you take her to a field of flowers, she'll make you a wreath.
    • In a rather dark moment, Fallen Hero Takumi says that until his memories return, he'll kill all your enemies. He also says he just wants to spend time with his family.
    • Fallen Hero Robin (aka Grima) offers to spare your life if you help him regain his memories. He even muses about what might happen if he were human and able to live among you (and presumably the other heroes).
    • Not only does female Fallen Hero Robin have the same voice lines (and thus, the same promise and musing as her male self) but her level 40 quote ends on a somewhat softer (if still cynical) note than the male version's.
Fell Vessel Robin: After all that, you still talk your big talk? Very well. I'll watch over you... Right until your bitter end.
    • Hardin says that he loved her [Nyna] until the end. He even calls her "Archanea's true treasure" in his confession.
  • By Chapter 11 of Book II, Fjorm is able to reunite with her remaining two siblings-her little sister Ylgr, and their brother Hríd, who had been presumed dead during the invasion of Nifl.
  • The Forging Bonds event "Rejecting Destiny" revolves around the heroes defending Brave Veronica, and clarifying to the enemy that this is not the one that waged war. This goes further when Hector, Ephraim, and Celica, the other heroes who were selected alongside Veronica, give her the courage to walk her path without a Compelling Voice dictating her actions.
  • Lene expresses a desire to meet her mother; as of the Doorway to Destiny banner, she can. Leif meanwhile can meet both of his parents, and Finn can reunite with his lord and his wife.
    • Additionally, this banner also finally allows the three academy friends Sigurd, Quan and Eldigan to be together, fighting for the same cause instead of how last time Eldigan ended up stuck on the other side due to his knight honor. And Ethlyn as the TT reward means that Sigurd can also reunite with his sister.
    • The "Doorway to Destiny" Tempest Trials also plays up Sigurd, Quan, and Eldigan's oath of friends helping each other in need, as they can fulfill it for real in this event.
    • There's also the fact that Sigurd has almost all his family in the game now. The only ones missing are his father Byron and cousin Oifey, who will certainly come in the future. Sigurd can reunite with his sister, his wife, his son, his brother in law, his nephew, and his niece, and if you want to be technical, his step-daughter. Despite everything he went through, Sigurd can at least feel happy with those around him, especially if you include Eldigan.
  • At the end of Book II, Fjorm decides to stay with the Order of Heroes due to the debt she has with the player and states that she will spend her remaining days with the player.
    • Also, Fjorm prevents Laevatein from using the Flames of Muspell ritual like Laegjarn did, fulfilling the latter's request to keep her sister safe.
  • Forging Bonds: "Hearts as One"
    • Sharena blocks an enemy attack directed at Leanne. She saw Leanne as a friend worth protecting, which lets Sharena gain Reyson's trust.
    • Tibarn's conversations revolve around him teaching Alfonse about being a king worthy of protecting his people. The bonding between a king and one next in line to the throne is endearing.
    • Leanne's conversations has the trio help her improve her skills with speaking in modern speech. Their idea? Have her converse with other heroes.
  • The story behind the 2019 Spring Festival. Veronica is at the festival to be with Bruno, who is there is because Loki told him something he is looking for is there. At the end of the story, Bruno manages to find what he was looking for, and Veronica tells Loki that while she doubts her intentions, seeing her brother happy makes her happy.
    • The Embla fluff continues in the Tempest Trial for the event, where Bruno teams up with Alfonse and Sharena to rescue Veronica from the Tempest. When the event ends, Alfonse declares that he will defeat the gods if that's what it takes to break Embla's curse. Bruno's response?
Bruno: I see the faith reflected in your eyes. Perhaps it is possible...
Alfonse: I have no doubt. And when we do it... will you return to us?
      Bruno: I swear it.
    • In the same scene, Sharena speaks words of comfort to Veronica after she is rescued. Considering how much she disliked Veronica at the beginning of the game's story, it's particularly sweet.
  • The 2019 Bridal Banner includes another official couple as the main stars: Pent and Louise from Elibe. As a bonus, in an answer to Sanaki's inclusion in last year's banner, her most loyal guards star in here to act as companions to their empress.
    • Having Pent and Louise in the game also means that Klein and Clarine will finally be able to reunite with their parents.
    • During the paralogue, Fjorm was surprised at first when she saw a version of herself participate. In the end, though, she catches the bouquet...which she then plans to give to her bridal self.
    • The Tempest Trial for the banner really plays up Sanaki's bond with Tanith and Sigrun, and when the event ended, Sanaki thanked her guards for everything.
  • Brave Echoes: Alm and Eliwood find a plaque honoring the past Brave Heroes and are excited to see their friends' names. Eliwood also noticed that his son Roy's name was there too.
  • Much like last year's Valentines paralogue with Greil and Ike, Alm gets a chance to reunite with his father, Emperor Rudolf. At the end of the paralogue, both Alm and Celica give the Emperor flowers as Alm finally gets to talk to bond with his father.
    • Similarly, Conrad takes this chance to shower his sister with gifts as well. And of course, center stage of it all is Alm and Celica as the duo hero showing each other the love that comes with the season.
  • The Forging Bonds event "The Fire Within":
    • The group had to visit a mountain for an herb required for Midori's medicine. The ailment afflicting the Order of Heroes catches up to Lilith, Forrest, and Midori, leaving Rinkah to save the day thanks to written instructions that Midori had with her just in case.
    • Forrest's conversation series has him design scarves for the heroes, with Oboro, who got over her Nohrian enmity, helping out her fellow trendsetter with the scarf requests.
  • The Forging Bonds event "Peaceful Ends":
    • Fallen Julia's support conversations become this once you reach the S Support: turns out the girls knew all along that Julia was not just caught in the acting. The reason why they dragged her to the play? To help her recover from her state, and, judging by the flashbacks she had in previous supports, it's working.
    • The conversations between Fallen Corrin and young Azura in Corrin's B and A Supports. Despite being just a little girl, she comforts obviously lonely Corrin (who warned her not to stay with him, several times even) and encourages him to return to the castle.
  • The Forging Bonds event "Shape of a Spirit":
    • Male Kris's support conversations revolve around the question on how they were summoned as a Hero when they shouldn't be recorded in history, in the end, Sharena reveals that it was Katarina's narration of their deeds as well as from their other allies. Marth's revealed to joined in on getting him recongized (feeling in some way Kris' feats deserve it), that had Sharena register them in Askr's records.
  • The Forging Bonds event "A New Future":
    • Upon learning that Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, and Lysithea's future selves were summoned into Askr, the students are curious about their own future selves, Lysithea in particular happy with the knowledge that she still continues to live past that point.
    • Lysithea’s event ends with her working with Merric, Canas, and Lute to find a way to extend Fjorm’s life.
    • Edelgard chats with Lissa about her family's Brand of the Exalt, and while it passed over her, she tells that her siblings are glad that they were blessed with it as it helps them save lives. Alm and Celica, who each have their brands too tell her much the same. While it doesn't change her view on the Crests she was given, it is humbling to her that such a blessing were given to good people as well.
    • It may be bittersweet, but it's nice to see the House Leaders finally bury the hatchet, at least while they're in Askr. And even more so, it teases the possibility that maybe a future where they don't have to kill each other isn't so impossible after all...
    • They also point out that despite their presence in Askr, their futures are set in stone, but they realize that the students have one tool the brave heroes didn't, their experiences in Askr which could forge them on a different path.
  • Paralogue 51: Dragons Harvest has young Tiki paired with Ninian meeting Dheginsea. After he gives her some candy, he reminises about his own children, one of which is dead while another left her homeland, and Tiki wants to cheer him up. At the end, Ena suggests that the best thing everyone could do is just enjoy the festival. So all of them (with Xane) go off together, with Tiki and Dheginsea holding hands.
  • Forging Bonds event "Driven by Vision": Selena's conversation series has her make amends to Myrrh for her actions in their home game. Noticing that Myrrh lost her dragonstone due to a hole in her pouch, Selena sets off to correct this issue and get Myrrh's dragonstone back.
  • Paralogue 53: A Festival Miracle is an ABSOLUTE WHIRLWIND of emotions for any fan of the Tellius games, as it involves an Altina having crossed time to attend a winter festival with her great-granddaughter Sanaki... and they encounter Sephiran. Any Tellius fan knows why this is a huge deal, and while Sephiran's denial of the truth is a bit of a tear jerker, the story ends on a heartwarming note when Sanaki orders Sephiran to join herself and Altina in the festivities. the context (spoilers)
  • Nearly everyone Luthier meets in the Decided Future Forging Bonds already knows him as Delthea's brother, meaning that Delthea has been talking about him a lot and probably missing him. There is also his pleasure and excitement at being able to make friends with the other mages and the summoner, as well as his happy surprise when Zeke thanks him for his advice and friendship.
  • In the "Beyond Dreaming" Paralogue, Peony and Triandra bicker over what kind of dreams to give to two girls who lost their parents- Peony wants to let them dream about her parents being alive, while Triandra thinks that will only cause them pain. The two then resolve their dispute by the end of the Paralogue and give the two girls a different kind of good dream- that they're living happy and successful lives as teachers, giving them something to work toward.
  • "Winter Dreamland" has Mirabilis reassure Manuela that she was loved, even if it's not the love she was hoping for.
  • "Unlikely Friends", which features a few Tellius heroes as kids, centers on Soren's muteness spurred from his Dark and Troubled Past. When the others catch on, Ike, Mist, Boyd, and Mia offer to teach him how to speak. Once Ike reassures Soren that they aren't here to hurt him, Soren finally utters a word:
    R...R...Right.
  • Book VI ends with the war between Askr and Embla finally ending for good. With Embla the goddess now gone and Veronica free from her curse, she is free to pursue her own life and make new friends with Alfonse, Sharena, and everyone else. The ending movie shows Veronica and Sharena happily enjoying a tea party together in Letizia's garden, and they cap off the event by placing dolls of Askr and Embla on the table, symbolizing the newfound unity between the kingdoms.
  • Rhea's Forging Bonds events focus on how, as Archbishop of the Church of Seiros, her position makes her feel isolated from others. With Sharena's help, she realizes that other people of high status and even gods fight alongside the Order of Heroes as equals, and joins some of the students in the dining hall, even if it's something she can only do while in Askr.
  • Hugh's Forging Bonds establishes his insecurity over not being able to use dark magic and his worry that Canas will be disappointed in him. When they finally meet, Canas is happy to see Hugh, but Hugh apologizes for being a mage instead of an elder magic user, saying that he didn't have the talent that he and Niime have. He's confused that Canas isn't ashamed of him, but Canas reassures him that him growing into his own person is the best thing he could ask for and says he's never been so happy.
  • Brave Soren's Forging Bonds showcases some beautiful Character Development in him. Soren is initially shown helping his teammates with strategizing and looks out for their safety, something that doesn't go unnoticed by Ranulf (though Soren himself is quick to deny it). The rest of the conversations involve some heartwarming interactions between Soren and his child self from "Unlikely Friends": While Soren claims to be annoyed with his younger self following him around like a shadow, he doesn't hesitate to comfort and guide him at every turn, eventually telling the younger Soren that even though his life is difficult at that point, things will look up as long as he has conviction and trust in others. Ike also points out to Soren that his younger self was most likely sent to Askr so he could have a chance at a better life.

    Characters
  • Talking to heroes at the castle may have them express concern for the player potentially overworking themselves. In some voice clips, they also swear their loyalty to you and admit that they feel at ease and feel their doubts disappear when they are around you.
  • One of Takumi's idle lines has him say a Declaration of Protection to the player. Considering how he was back in Fire Emblem Fates, it's nice to hear that he has a degree of trust to the player. In general, he's much nicer to Kiran than to Corrin, seeing as he doesn't have a reason to resent them unlike the latter.
    • Another line is him noting he can't help but spoil Hinata and Oboro for how hard they work for his sake, showing he truly appreciates their company. One of his voiced lines even has him indirectly admit he feels relaxed around them, which is also very sweet knowing Takumi's character.
    • Since the 2.5.0 update released in May 9, 2018, Takumi is now rewarded to both veteran players and newcomers.
  • Eliwood is really quick to accept that his future son is better than him; he's even proud of it, as both his castle idle line and boss dialogue show. Compare with Hector, who doesn't say anything about Lilina. Lilina, on the other hand, does say how fascinating it is to see her father as young as her.
  • Getting any 5-star character to level 40 triggers a small cutscene (which fans refer to as a "confession") where the character expresses their gratefulness to the player and how precious you are to them. This may consist of promises to protect you, as your weapon is useless in a straight fight, or vows of friendship. Even some villains, like Zephiel or Michalis, actually show respect instead of overly belittling you (though they do warn that you better not do something to lose their respect). Zephiel's case is especially poignant, considering his backstory where his father's betrayal and backstabbing drove him to become a Straw Nihilist.
Zephiel: I've long had the conviction that humanity had no more worth than the least of all fleas. And then... you. Your deeds here, and those of the others... Every good act has whittled at my certainty. What I am saying is that you have earned my attention. Still, be careful. The last person to toy with my respect was my father. Ultimately, I had to put an end to him. Now, you have a throat. And I, a hand. Let us hope the two never have need to meet.
    • Another good confession is Virion's, especially if you decide to grind him up all the way to 5 stars after summoning him in the prologue. Virion and the player engage in a board game, just like with the Avatar in Awakening, and Virion notes how the player is reluctant to sacrifice one of their pieces in order to win. Virion considers the possibility that he could be sacrificed by the player (which can easily happen ever since the introduction of Skill Inheritance), but thinks that they won't go through with it. He vows that, as the first Hero that was summoned by the player, he'll try his damnedest to prove his worth to you. Awww.
  • Fem-Corrin's level 40 scene is especially lip-wibble-inducing, as instead of mighty oaths or whatever, you exchange head pats. It's probably the most adorable thing in the entire game.
  • Considering the fact that the game mostly glosses over the fact that you were ripped from your world without your knowledge or consent to go fight in a war, it's rather nice to see Alfonse consistently show gratitude and remorse for the sacrifices you've made in his name.
  • One of Adult Tiki's castle idle lines is her expressing gratitude on how she's finally able to see her old friends again — including her beloved "Mar-Mar!" In addition, one of her lines when her profile is tapped has her ask if "Mar-Mar" is here.
  • Although they don't directly interact, the fact that Ninian can be summoned means she gets a chance to meet with her potential future son Roy. This is heartwarming because in her paired ending with Eliwood, she canonically dies soon after and most likely never got a chance to see Roy grow up into the young man he is now. In here, however, she gets an opportunity to do exactly that, and even reunite with Eliwood while she's at it (who himself is portrayed as a very doting and proud father towards Roy here).
    • Someone even made a comic about it (which ends on a silly note, but is pure heartwarming before that).
    • And for those who preferred Eliwood with a different woman, the same holds true for Lyndis and Fiora. Not to mention Sigurd and Deirdre when they become summonable (and as of October 2017, they both are), given that neither of them got to see Seliph grow into a young man.
  • One of Soren's castle quotes discusses the importance of strategy, and he even offers to give you advice in case it's needed, as you're the strategist of the game. Given that Soren is a reserved stoic who doesn't open up much to anyone who isn't Ike, this is endearing.
  • If Gordin appears on the My Castle screen, he may say that his mentor, Jeorge, isn't just the best archer he knows, but the best person as well. It shows that Gordin respects Jeorge for the person he is, which is pretty endearing since Jeorge implies that most people only seem to respect him due to his noble lineage.
  • Despite the general ridiculousness of the Spring Festival event, its depiction of Lucina is the happiest she's ever looked and acted by far — this is nice to see considering her canon counterpart didn't have a whole lot to be happy about.
  • For anyone that knows how Faye can be, you know that the only thing on her mind, arguably ever, is Alm. But when you get her to level 40, she starts saying that she actually has someone else on her mind, and that would be you, the player. As proof of this, she says that she has been making a good luck charm for the player and thought about them the entire time she was making it. To know that she considers the player on par with Alm is actually really touching.
Faye: My eyes light up every time I turn a corner around here, hoping that I'll see you-know-who. And, you know? You're not Alm, but you don't have to be. At least, not anymore. Funny how people can be so stuck on someone... that they don't see what's right there. I know you'd think I'm the last one to ever say something like that. but it's true. I have proof. See? I'm working on a good-luck charm for you. Thought of you with every stitch. Does it look good? Do you like it? I hope so. You mean a lot to me, so I really want it to be great!
  • While he's still as rude and arrogant as ever, Berkut is often found polishing a ring and searching out a jeweler, likely for his betrothed, Rinea. It's even stated in his flavor text!
First in line to the Rigelian throne. Prideful, but loves Rinea with all his heart.
  • In Maria's unused special attack lines, which were eventually used in Tap Battles, she's psyching herself up for an attack by emulating her big sister... and her big brother.
    Maria: Just like Minerva!
    Maria: Just like Michalis!
    • Anamnesis Lady Eirika has similar lines, this time emulating Lyon.
      Eirika: Just like Lyon!
  • The "Choose Your Legends" characters have some rather heartwarming aspects about them, acknowledging their popularity and their own families as their inspirations.
    • Garbed in her Great Lord outfit, Lucina thinks that her new lance was entrusted to her from people from another world (in other words, her fans in real life). She also yells "For my father!" as a Pre-Mortem One-Liner.
    • Roy wishes to repay the people who supported him. He's also dressed up just like his dad, Eliwood! Complete with the same clothes, a white horse, and his Durandal. Like Lilina, he too yells "For my father!" when his skill activates.
    • Lyn becomes a Horse Archer, following in the footsteps of her father. She talks about him in high regard.
    • Ike takes up his father's axe, the Urvan, and mentions having a strange dream: one where thousands of people cheered for him and chanted his name. As revealed in the paralogue, this dream was shared by the other Brave Heroes as well, and they recall the Summoner being among the crowd.
      • Even better, they all share one thing in common; they see their fathers as amazing inspirations to them!
  • Sakura's Trick or Defeat! incarnation's info page is as funny as it is sweet.
This Hoshidan princess is so kind that she wouldn't play a trick on anyone, even if they didn't give her candy.
  • When talked to in the Castle, the Trick or Defeat! incarnation of Sakura may mention how she once had a slumber party with Elise.
  • In Fjorm's perfect or near perfect level-up quote, she says how she owes her continued strength to you.
  • When the Children of Fate characters are summoned, all of them (sans Shiro) say "It's good to meet you."note  This is a callback to Heirs of Fate, where the children have defeated Anankos and decide to use it as a phrase for whenever they may meet again.
  • After all the trauma Fjorm's gone through (having her kingdom invaded, being driven from her home and having her mother killed) the Gunnthrá summoning event at least gives you the chance to reunite her with her older sister, who has a quote thanking you for saving Fjorm.
  • Oliver, despite being such an ego stroking Fat Bastard, acts incredibly kind and polite to the player. He calls you a "jewel" that he won't allow to get hurt, and offers to teach you how to really smile and "polish [you] until you gleam, by gods". Keep in mind that Oliver typically has very high standards for beauty. For those with low self-confidence, it can be oddly touching that Oliver finds value in you, the player, no matter who you are or what you look like.
  • Eirika's alternate, Anamnesis Lady, has her wielding Gleipnir, one of Grado's sacred weapons. "Anamnesis" refers to remembering something. Her alternate self is basically a tribute to Lyon. Aww!
  • Lyon's GHB begins with Fomortiis speaking to you. Once you defeat him and recruit Lyon, the only lines implying that he's still there are his critical quotes. This suggests that his GHB is you forcibly undoing his Demonic Possession to save him.
    • One of Lyon's castle quotes is a very touching encouragement towards the player:
Lyon: You work so hard, but I want you to know that - if you need to - it's okay to cry. Nobody here knows what you've been through but you.
    • Oh and thanks to the Support System of this game, Lyon and Eirika can finally be together.
  • The Morgans' level 40 quotes have them ask if they can be your apprentice, and they're both delighted when you apparently accept. Considering how much they idolize their respective Avatar parents' tactical skill, the fact they're so eager to study under the player is more than a little flattering.
    • Similarly, Male Kana's confession has him mistaking the player for his mother, and says he must've done it because he loves them just as much as he loves her. N'awwww.
  • Exalted Chrom tells the summoner that they can call on him whenever they're in trouble, and he will come to their aid "with the wind at [his] back."
  • Legendary Fallen Hero Robin's confession has her telling the player that if there is someone out there who believes in peace like they do, she'd love to meet them.
  • One of Nanna's idle quotes is wondering where her mother could be. Yes, you can fulfill her wish by summoning Lachesis.
  • World of Thracia Reinhardt's description and level 40 quote state that he was defeated by Leif "long ago". Taking into account the capture mechanic, it is very heavily implied that Thracia 776's biggest Anti-Villain canonically survived the events of the game.
  • World of Thracia Olwen's admiration for her elder brother shines in her artwork, despite the two walking their own paths. The pose she strikes in her idle art mirrors that of World of Thracia Reinhardt's, while her attack and special art in addition to her damaged art emulates those of regular Reinhardt.
  • Even though it doesn't work, Xander taking on Surtr to save Veronica despite knowing he was way outmatched. Crosses over with Awesome.
  • Ares has a somewhat standoffish and grouchy personality, but even he can't really conceal his delight at seeing his father (though if you haven't actually summoned Eldigan yet, it comes off as awkward). It's also clear that this version of Ares has come from after learning the truth about Eldigan and Sigurd's friendship.
Ares: To think I would meet my father here... He is just as Mother described him. No, better. He is the embodiment of the ideal knight, without question.
  • Helbindi expressing concern over Ylgr is surprisingly cute.
  • In the Bridal Bloom paralogue, Sharena states that she wants to attend the event so a hero she befriended can get the bouquet's blessing.
  • In a really weird way, one of Julius' castle lines is him noticing you have some free time and looking for something for the two of you to do together, which ends up being freeing a flower bed of an infestation of bugs. Being Julius he says it in a threatening and dramatic flavor, but the sentiment is nice.
  • Linus's Grand Hero Battle means it's possible to reunite him with Lloyd and Nino.
    • Nino was a character available from launch, and one of her castle lines was "Oh, Lloyd...Linus...and dear old Uncle Legault..." and by June 2018, all three of them are recruitable and thus able to reunite with her.
    • Scattered Fangs Nino also has voice lines gushing about how proud she is of both Lloyd and Linus.
    • Even better, the Tempest Trials accompanying the banner involves Nino, Jaffar, Legault, and Linus as the focus characters as they seek revenge for a sneak attack on Lloyd. In other words, it's about Nino and her "family". Furthermore, the Tempest Trial reward is Canas, who is implied to be Nino's uncle.
  • Nino's default version is unique in that she's the only mage battling with a closed book (since she doesn't know how to read and instead had to memorize Sonia's incantations only by hearing them). However, her "Pale Flower" version now fights with an open book. This means that Nino finally learned reading.
    • One of Pale Flower Nino's castle quote states that Florina taught her how to ride a pegasus, and gleefully says that she's like an older sister to her.
  • Summer Takumi's summary describes him as being "genuinely happy about being able to spend time on a tropical island." It's not wrong, either—he really does sound like it in his voice clips. New Year's Takumi still had a bit of his usual prickliness, but Summer Takumi is carefree. He also pulls the most adorable excited face, Blush Stickers and all, at the start of his turn and while activating his specials.
Takumi: This smile is all natural, if you couldn't tell.
    • During the Sketchy Summer paralogue, he is shown to be friends with Summer Tiki, as she even gives him a nickname: Tak-Tak.
  • Brave Veronica notes that she learned to ride from her brother Bruno and her friend Xander.
  • Brave Veronica becoming playable is heartwarming if you stop and think about it. With a friendly Emblian royal on their side, Kiran is perfectly capable of forcing Alfonse and Sharena to send them home and having Brave Veronica shut the portal behind them. At this point, Kiran is almost certainly sticking around out of genuine loyalty.
  • Like last time, the Brave heroes are all based on people they care about: Veronica's brother Bruno, Ephraim's father Fado, Celica's love Alm, and Hector's brother Uther.
  • The Generals of Múspell banner means Laevatein can reunite with her sister, Laegjarn, who died in Chapter 13. Helbindi's summoning quote implies you summoned him moments before his death, meaning your summoning might have saved his life!
  • Laegjarn's level 40 quote ends with her swearing her loyalty to you forever.
Laegjarn: You give me strength. Lead, and I will follow. From now on, and until the very end, if you allow it.
  • Check on Helbindi in the Home screen, and he may ask if Ylgr is anywhere in the vicinity. Seems the big guy still cares for the little one from Nifl, even if he doesn't want to admit it.
    • You can answer Helbindi's question with a "yes" as of the banner Fire and Ice, in which Ylgr is a focus unit. Again, even if he indicates otherwise, this would surely make him happy. In addition, one of the special maps released alongside the banner has the two fight alongside each other.
  • Seeing Kagero with a smile on her face is a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence. It shows how much she's enjoying the harvest festival, even if she doesn't enjoy her garb for the occasion as much.
  • Ylgr expresses pure excitement upon being summoned.
Ylgr: I'm a Hero? Are you kidding me?! Eeee!
  • Fjorm is finally able to kick back and relax in the 2018 Winter Festival, after suffering non-stop throughout Book II and missing out on the seasonal events that took place during Book II. As a bonus, Ylgr tags along too.
    • To make things even better, Sharena gives the Winter Festival rewards to the both of them after winning the tournament. For them, it was the time of giving, after all.
  • Soon after the Winter Festival, the Nifl royals (sans Ylgr) join the princesses of Múspell for New Year's in hopes of uniting for peace between their respective nations. These may not be the exact same Nifl or Múspell royals we know from Book II, but that does not make their unity any less heartwarming.
  • A subtle one, but Legendary Azura wears a white outfit that (aside from the color) looks similar to the one worn by her mother, Arete, in Fates.
  • Eliwood getting second place in the third Choose Your Legends means he can now join his friends Hector and Lyn as a Brave Hero. The three always stick together.
    • Not only that, but Eliwood gets to join his son Roy as well making all four lords of the Elibe series Brave Heroes each.
    • In addition, Alm also gets to join his sweetheart Celica as a Brave Hero and finally the Silver-Haired Priestess Micaiah joins her fellow hero of Tellius Ike the Radiant Hero as one too.
  • The Day of Devotion 2019 event is Path of Radiance themed, with Ike and Mist's father Greil front and center. Sharena notes he'll be very proud to see how his kids and fellow allies have grown since his death. The paralogue itself has Ike and co. utterly overjoyed to be granted one more day with their beloved commander.
  • The "Beyond Darkness" banner finally adds Lugh into the roster, which means that finally, Nino can finally reunite with both of her sons (instead of just Raigh) that she had to left behind due to circumstances.
    • Shanna also gets to reunite with one of her sisters, Thea.
  • In the 5-star, level 40 conversation of Adrift Female Corrin, she gives you an uplifting speech, letting you know that You Are Not Alone. Even when things look like they're at their worst and you've been dealt a bad hand, there can still be hope.
Adrift Female Corrin: Even if you can't bear the cruelty of it alone, there are others who will help you clear a path to the future.
  • With Naga's official release as a Mythic Hero of Astra in May 2019, Tiki can finally be reunited with her parent after many centuries being separated, and many years in real life.
    • And a few months later, Bantu was added to the 3-4 star summoning pool, meaning Tiki can also reunite with "Ban-Ban" as well!
  • The Summer Returns banner has Ylgr and Helbindi reunited in happier circumstances, leading to a surprisingly sweet Intergenerational Friendship.
    • Gunnthra is also there to see this, and she notes that there might be a chance for peace between Nifl and Muspell after all.
  • The Summer Refreshes banner has Rebecca’s son, Wolt, as one of the stars. Plus, Fiora is the free unit, which means all three potential moms of Roy are now in game.
  • We do know that Jugdral is a land full of suffering and edge. So aside of them getting the first seasonal alt... the first who got the alt was Ishtar, the lady that has clearly suffered throughout her lifetime to the point she decided to pull a Suicide by Cop. She can finally have a break after having been slightly mentally abused by her mother, having to see her lover descend into complete evilness and making her people suffer.
    • Also, the addition of Rinea as the free unit finally allows Berkut to reunite with her, instead of just having her burning spirit with her in his Fallen self.
    • Berkut's Dancer alt shows how he is when he isn't burdened with responsibility, and it shows how truly happy Rinea makes him. He has a more jovial attitude, talks more softly, and is willing to dance with the protagonist even though they aren't nobility. One of his lines even has him admitting to not liking dancing that much, but because Rinea does, he is fine doing so. It shows how much happier he is when not dealing with the stress of being potentially a leader.
  • The first Duo Heroes to be introduced in the game is Halloween Hector and Lilina... only that it's the bearded Hector and the young Lilina from the ending of The Blazing Blade. Hector in his Wizard Costume carrying around his daughter in a Cat Costume is enough to melt people's hearts.
  • The second Duo Heroes is revealed to be Ephraim and Lyon. Seeing the two of them working together is wonderful considering the tragedy that their home game did to these two friends. Even showing that if they were united in Sacred Stones, they would be unstoppable.
  • Marth and Elice being the third Duo Heroes. It's nice to see Marth also gets to be reunited with his sister as well.
    • The ending of the 2019 Winter Festival paralogue features Sharena giving the prize this time to alternate versions of Laevatein and Laegjarn.
  • Eir spending the New Years' Festival with Alfonse and Sharena. It's nice to see her relaxing for once after the events of Book III.
    • Then the very end. Anna holds a meet and greet with the royals as her money making scheme, and Eir says she enjoys giving handshakes to the people. Alfonse admits this was a good idea... before telling Anna not to charge people anymore.
  • The introduction of Larcei in Heir of Light. Since she kept believing that her mother Ayra is alive somewhere, that means you can just show her literally Ayra in your group and fulfill Larcei's long-life dream that was formerly borderline going into denial territory.
    • Additionally, the Leonster main family can now reunite fully with the addition of Altena. In fact, Altena's final Forging Bonds conversation is basically meeting up with Quan and Ethlyn, and the latter two express how proud they are with their daughter and promise to make up for the lost time after the last time they ended up being separated with death.
    • Continuing this whole reunion of Jugdral heroes, Enduring Legacy will enable Erinys to reunite with her Prince and biggest candidate of husband (Lewyn, as in Thracia 776), but also her Cool Big Sis Annand though Annand was summoned into Zenith after her death and her future son Ced who certainly looked up to her and fought tooth and nail to find happiness for her before she ended up dying by sickness. And aside of that, Tailtiu, after years of being alone in her circle of friends within Askr, will finally have her default friends that were practically close with her since childhood, Azelle and Lex. Aside of that, Azelle's presence can give Arvis a chance to be the stern but loving big brother that he'd like to be instead of having to put Azelle into his BBQ Party menu.
    • The next year, Tailtiu gets another bone thrown to her when Tine and Arthur are added into the roster. The poor girl has been separated cruelly with her family to the point she died, now she gets the chance to be together with them as families once again. Tine gets to see what her mother is like in her prime when she hasn't turned into a shell of her former self that cried every day, and after a long while searching, Arthur finally gets to meet his mother.
  • After three years, Matthew can finally reunite with Leila.
  • One of Brave Alm's stat screen quotes has him wonder if he'll have a chance to encounter Berkut and Rudolf in Askr. Even after everything that happened he still wants a chance to meet his birth family as something other than the enemy.
  • In June 2020, Mustafa gets added as a playable character. In his home game, he was notable for being one of the very few antagonists with no negative qualities whatsoever who unfortunately had to be cut down by the player in order to progress the story. Here, he gets to put his fighting skills towards a noble cause, and he's also the 4* unit of the banner, which means he'll be easier to obtain in the future.
    • In the Castle, he says that he thinks about his wife and son when he's off the battlefield. One of his voiced lines also has him mention his fondness for Henry, who reminds him of his son.
  • If you talk to Bridal Cordelia in your castle, she might tell you that one of the things she hopes for in her future marriage is a little girl... And said little girl is also summonable, albeit under her false Nohrian identity.
    • And as of December 2023, she doesn't have to be under that identity anymore!
  • Ever since they first met in the Tempest Trials, Mia have been shown to be nothing but nice to Masked Marth. Thus, it's only fitting that they would become the game's first Harmonic Heroes: Duo Heroes with characters from different games.
  • The second Harmonic Heroes that we get? Veronica and Xander in pirate costumes. It's quite adorable that Xander, whose stayed with Veronica just so she doesn't get lonely, is still with her and participating in events with her.
  • The third Harmonic Hero duo that enter the game? Ninian and Young Tiki in time for Halloween, both being dragons who have befriended humans and living rather lonely lives before hand.
  • September 2020 is a Jugdral banner named "To Stay Dreaming", with Lachesis, Quan, Ethlyn and the next Duo Hero: Sigurd and Deirdre, all dressed to the nine. And if you think Eldigan is left out, don't worry: He's the Tempest Trial reward.
    • Sigurd and Deirdre’s low health art has Sigurd shielding Deirdre from the threat.
  • In Book IV's climax, Plumeria died miserably, unable to fulfill her desire to become a hero that would make her abusive mother proud and accept her. She became the next summonable Mythic Hero right afterwards and in a way, we can fulfill her fondest desire to become a proper hero as well as being genuinely accepted and loved instead of being abandoned during her mortal life.
  • With Triandria becoming a Mythic Hero post-Book IV, she can be summoned, and not only can she do good like she wanted to, but she can also be reunited with her sister Peony.
  • New Year 2021 ups the ante of what sweet thoughts we could give to both Triandra and Plumeria: Not only Plumeria gets an alternate where she looks rather wholesome instead of lewd, Triandra gets to be a duo unit with Peony. Their 'special' art is particularly sweet, as even gloomy Triandra smiles brightly.
  • Dithorba's characterization if she's recruited. While she looked like a bonafide dangerous Dark Action Girl who has great blood lust in the original game, turns out that she's quite cordial to the Summoner, and when off battle, she actually did care for her daughter Misha and hopes that one day, when she enters the battlefield, she wouldn't take after her mother's darker methods but be a genuine Redeeming Replacement. If anything, the player will know that when she's not being a bloodthirsty warrior, Dithorba is at least a good mom.
  • While subtle, Pirate Duo Hinoka and Camilla sport a small braid each, with some strands dyed to match the other's hair. Sure, their families weren't on good terms at one point, but this shows their newfound support for each other.
  • Have Winter Lysithea reach level 40, and Lute cheers up Lysithea with cards from the gift recipients and the summoner, and it's clear that the children loved their gifts.
  • Winter Ignatz's level 40 conversation has him plan for a painting capturing the festivities, and invite the summoner to be featured in it.
  • Idunn. The dark priestess may look scary at first, but every moment that involves her is a fountain of Sweet Dreams Fuel. Such moments include:
    • The Forging Bonds "Reason to Fight" main story focuses on Regular Idunn, who leaves the castle with Lugh, saying she has no reason to fight for peace. Her interactions with Lugh over time cause her to slowly regain her emotions. When Lugh and Idunn find a village, they stay for the night and then leave with a picture of Lugh and Idunn with huge smiles, drawn by the children. Afterwards, Idunn decides to fight for Askr to protect the smiles of children.
      • In the same event, her Support chain involves Sharena trying to make friends with Idunn. In her B-Support, Sharena shows Idunn a flowerbed that Heroes tend to. Idunn doesn't see the purpose in growing flowers, until her A-Support, where she is seen diligently tending to her garden of flowers. She started to feel love for the flowers, and said love was what helped them survive the storm.
    • Come March 2020, Idunn gets a Duo Hero with Fae, with the two celebrating the Spring Festival. The two dressed as rabbits, they fight as a pair. Their Duo Conversation involves Fae trying to get Idunn to smile by giving her flowers and candy. Fae then tries to chase a rabbit, only to trip and hurt herself. Idunn gives Fae back the flowers and candy, which cheers her up. Fae then declares that she and Idunn should keep smiling together forever.
    • February 2022 introduced Ascended Idunn, based on Idunn after the events of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. She returns with a bright-colored outfit and a basket of fruits, and a smile on her face in her neutral art, while her special shows that she is slowly reverting to her divine dragon roots, with the gold and blue-colored feathered wings mixed with the dark, scaly skin when she was the demon dragon. With Zephiel out of her control, Idunn is free to enjoy her life and bring humans and dragons together, and smile with her friends and loved ones. Awwww!
      • There's also her Forging Bonds conversations. We see that the very first thing she does is she tracks down Roy and thanks him for everything he's done for her. For his part, Roy also is clearly happy to see Idunn doing so well. She follows this up by going to Guinivere, and while she does apologize for being unable to do anything to save Zephiel, Guinivere not only chooses to not hold that against her but thanks her in turn for ensuring that he was never alone.
  • The same Forging Bonds event that gave us Ascended Idunn also saw Hugh's inclusion. It starts with Hugh deliberately avoiding his father Canas because he feels like it would just make things awkward, but by the end, he does approach his father and admits to him that he had zero talent for elder magic like his line and instead went into anima magic. All the same, Canas is overjoyed to see his son grown up and following in his mother's footsteps, and expresses just how proud he is of his son for becoming both a skilled mage and a hero worthy of being summoned to Askr.
  • In her Forging Bonds conversation, Ascended Tiki was thrilled to see Bantu again, though she is uncertain if it's the same Bantu from her world. He reassures her that every world's Bantu has a Tiki that they cherish, and will treat any Tiki the same way.
  • With the release of Legendary Veronica, the game's title screen changes to reflect her new Heel–Face Turn. Instead of Veronica facing off against the other heroes, Legendary Veronica now stands with them.
  • A subtle touch on the skill activation artworks for Winter Dorothea and Winter Annette: they have gifts for each of their starting classmates. One user provided a guide as to which gift goes to which recipient.
  • Halloween 2023's Anna: Twice the Anna is the child Anna from Fire Emblem Engage teamed up with the Anna from Awakening. Engage's Anna was separated from her family and made searching for them her life's mission. Now, in Heroes, she gets to reunite with one of her "sisters", making this Hero a Fully Absorbed Finale to Engage Anna's arc.
Anna (Engage): Yeah, it's just that...I got separated from my sisters back in Elyos, and it's been lonely ever since, so...
Anna (Awakening): Ah... I get it. But not to worry! There is plenty of festival left—and when I do leave, I want to take you with me.
Anna (Engage): You do? Yes! I can't wait to travel to new worlds and make new profits with my new favorite sister!
  • The November 2023 ninja event's duo unit is Micaiah and Sanaki, who spend some time bonding now that they've realized that they're sisters.

    Gameplay
  • The Support System has the units meet in C-Rank, train together in B-Rank, share their dreams and aspirations in A-Rank, culminating in an implied marriage at S-Rank. While it can be useful Just for Fun or squick, it can be rather nice to see certain units get a happy ending, like Arden, who laments that he isn't popular with the ladies. Although it can also combine with hilarity if his pair is a guy. A muscular guy that likes him the way he is.
    • While pairing characters who killed each other (Sigurd and Arvis, Zephiel and Hector, etc.) together is Black Comedy, it could also be taken as the killed party not holding a grudge against their killer, forgiving them to the point of falling in love with them.
  • With the advent of the Rival Domains and Grand Conquest gametypes, if you lack a roster of powerful heroes at your disposal, you can receive help from your friends or random heroes with strong kits. More heartwarming is that the FEH Reddit has several users specifically giving out friend codes so people can use powerful sought after units for this reason. One wonders if the choice was deliberate due to timing proximity to the 2.5.0 update, which was centered around alleviating Early Game Hell.

    Other
  • For all of the controversy that surrounds the voting gauntlets, if there's at least one positive aspect of it, it's being able to see heartwarming fan art of the various heroes who are pitted against each other interacting with one another as if they were close friends. For example, this artwork from the "Choose Your Legends" gauntlet depicts Camilla lightly teasing Lyndis about how cute she looks after the two of them decide to exchange clothes.
    • For added heartwarming, this artwork from the Enduring Love gauntlet has Sigurd give Dorcas some money for Natalie's medication as the former moves on to the finals.
    • For added benefit, Sigurd managed to make it to the final round, all while facing Tharja. Sigurd had an uphill battle against Katarina and Dorcas, and yet he managed to make it to the finale.
  • Soeda Ippei. His artwork for Arden was initially bashed because of looking incredibly realistic and almost grotesque compared to the rest of the Arts, but he won back his fans tenfold thanks to his contribution to the Enduring Love Voting Gauntlet and his various arts of Dorcas and Arden. People greatly appreciated how involved he was with the Gauntlet and the community, and after seeing some of his other work many praise Ippei as one of the best artists of the game.
  • The official Japanese Twitter posted an image commemorating the eventual release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, wherein characters that are in both Heroes and Ultimate (whether as a playable character or Assist Trophy in the latter game's case) duke it out on the stage Castle Siege. Feh even appears in the image, being sent flying by Male Corrin.
  • The manga shows Quan and Ethlyn cheering their son Leif on, while Finn cries. The summoner notes that it's a lot like parents sending their children to school for the first time, something that they never got to do.
  • 2019's Glorious Gifts event. Jaffar wearing a reindeer costume and being vexed because no one's taking him seriously in it? Hilarious. Finding out that he's wearing it because it makes Nino happy and that he's making an active effort to participate for her sake? D'aww.
  • For the 30th anniversary of Fire Emblem, Fehnix has interviews with some of the Japanese and English VAs. They also recall their first experiences with the series, which is also surprisingly long on the US side at that point — 2021 being the 20th anniversary of Roy's first appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee. At the end of the interview with the English voice actors, there is a short blurb that dedicates the video to Brad Venable, the English voice actor of Cormag and Merlinus note , who passed away a month before the video released. The fact that Nintendo allowed the video to pay tribute to him is nothing less than bittersweet.
  • Daisuke Izuka, the artist of Valentine Gustav, drew him again to celebrate Heroes' 5th Anniversary. The artwork shows the Askran royal couple joined in loving embrace while Gustav effortlessly shields Henriette from an onslaught of Emblian Mooks—a nod to the Savior skills introduced by the couple themselves.
