Heartwarming / Dorohedoro

• The relationships between a lot of characters are extremely heartwarming, despite Dorohedoro's sometimes gory content - Nikaido and Kaiman, Shin and Noi, even Fujita and Ebisu. This image◊ puts it nicely.
• Nikaido and Kaiman's friendship is one of the sweetest parts of the series. After Nikaido found him confused and with no memory of his past in an alley, they hit it off immediately–she even named him. While Kaiman initially tries to deny that Nikaido is a magic user, he eventually comes to terms with it. After Asu and Kaiman help Nikaido escape from En's manor, Nikaido and Kaiman share a heartwarming scene where they agree to be friends forever with a pinky swear despite Nikaido not knowing what kind of person Kaiman may have been in the past and Kaiman being apprehensive of magic users.
• Nobody wanted to be Fujita's partner in the Blue Night. Except one person: Ebisu. Later, when Fujita is moping about Matsumura and thinking he's an utter failure, Ebisu sees him crying, what does she do?:

  Ebisu: "I can giv yu hug?"

  • Fujita smiles◊.
• Shin or Noi risking their lives for each other, even Shin momentarily killing Noi and giving her immortality so she can survive Kai's final encounter and himself becoming a zombie, Shin did it for all the best of reasons..
  • When Noi is taken hostage by Cross-eyes at Haru's old house, Shin allows himself to be slashed up by Noi's captors so that they don't hurt her. As he lets it happen, he thinks about how Noi would hate that he didn't fight back, but that he himself couldn't let her be hurt. Fortunately, he survives, saying that the Cross-eyes pissed him off too much to let go.
• Nikaido saving her adoptive sister, Yakumo, when she accidentally killed her when trying to figure out her powers. Everyone with a sibling, despite their rivalry, can totally understand the joy of Nikaido.
• Fujita is tasked with infiltrating the Cross-Eyes controlled manor to scout them out. While everyone thinks of him as replaceable initially, it's clear that everyone, even Chota and Shin will miss him if he dies, so they all give him some of their smoke in order to survive. While Shou forbids him from taking the smoke, it's for a good cause- he also doesn't want Fujita to die, and is aware that because Fujita is armed to the teeth he would not hesitate to kill Kai as Fujita's loyalty to the family is better than anything else. He still gives Fujita invisibility magic to survive the trip, and even states out-loud that he wants Fujita to come back not only to deliver the information, but because he would be sad if he died.
