• In the December 1994 issue, on the "Hello" page, founding editor Tommi Lewis gave a heartfelt goodbye to readers that was also a Tear Jerker if you read in between the lines:
  "Chief Tommi here with some news. D.A. is moving to New York. I can't go, but I'm sure the new guys have some mondo fun stuff planned for you. I hope wherever I end up, we'll find each other. Until then, I'm hiding in this magazine one last time. [...] Goodbye and ADVENTURE ON!"^note Tommi later went on to edit TEEN Magazine in the latter half of The '90s. For a time in the 2010s, she occasionally blogged for The Daily Green from Good Housekeeping, as well as a Disney parenting blog. So, in a way, at least a few readers of DA in the early '90s did find Tommi again, and continued to do so after having kids of their own.
• It was always heartwarming to see Heidi MacDonald gush about comics in her Comics Zone column. Among other things, she fangirled over bringing in Evan Dorkin for Kid Blastoff, bringing back Bone, running a DuckTales comic, and running a George of the Jungle comic drawn by Sergio Aragonés.
• In one "Ask Liz" column, a reader asked entertainment editor Liz Smith what the nicest thing a celebrity ever did for her was. Liz responded that she'd been tasked with interviewing Robin Williams for an article, but was having trouble getting sorted and apologetically asked Robin to call her back. And he did.
• This edition◊ of Gregory Benton's Captain Blammo! versus Toxo the Bear features Toxo surprising his Friendly Enemy Captain Blammo with a surprise birthday party.
