Heartwarming / Dear Dumb Diary

• Angeline letting Colette win "Prettiest" after seeing how badly the other kids at her school treat her.
• In the eighth book:
  • Isabella reads Angeline's real diary (submitted by mistake instead of her fake one) and learns Angeline faked a broken ankle on the day Isabella came to adopt her puppy, because she knew Isabella wanted the same puppy Angeline wanted to keep, and she saw Isabella and Jamie as her "sisters" and didn't want to upset them. Isabella compliments Angeline on her Prank Injuries, which Jamie recognizes as high praise from Isabella. Jamie later admits that Isabella and Angeline may have always been like her sisters.
  • When they all finally get the chance to adopt their puppies, Jamie is allowed to adopt one. Initially, she wants to take the last cute puppy, but sees Stinker getting along with his ugly Generation Xerox daughter Stinkette and decides to keep her. Turns out Isabella and Angeline both wanted Stinkette over the cuter puppies, but figured she'd get along best with her dad.
• In the first "Year Two" book, Jamie is touched that Isabella cared enough about her to help her with her failing math grades... until Jamie's dad hands Isabella ten bucks for doing so.
• Live Each Day to the Dumbest has Jamie fret over what seems to be her recently-deceased grandmother's diary, full of entries about "dumb" things like going to the dance with her crush. However, it turns out to be the diary of her grandfather, who, despite his tough exterior in old photos, had a lot of gushy feelings about his future wife. This leads Jamie to realize some things that might seem "dumb" can end up being important. When she shares the diary with her mom, who's still grieving the loss, it makes her mom cry and laugh in a way she hadn't done in days — Jamie notes she was amazed at how much she likes the sound of her mom's laugh.
