The Sims 4
While, granted, it can be a bit of a reach to read into the events of The Sims, there are still lots of sweet aspects in Dan and Phil's playthrough.
Season 1
- In general, Dan and Phil's genuine attachment and investment in the lives of their Sims is very heartwarming, and when they start to act like actual parents to the Howlters, it really shows. Also, there's their Cuteness Overload in regards to the pets.
- Dil and Tabitha's relationship is rather sweet, as they're two awkward weirdos who found each other and started a happy family. Tabitha's questionable marital past makes things a bit weird, but at least she found happiness with Dil! It's also notable because Tabitha is the first woman Dil meets that Dan and Phil don't immediately push him to get romantic with, but she ends up being the one in the end.
- Erica Pendleton, the nastiest character in the LP, with a literally evil personality, spites Dil by refusing to attend his wedding...and then shows up anyway. While it seems like she decided the more spiteful thing would be to show up in order to upset Dil, but it's likely because she was friends with the bride (remember when Tabitha was first added to the household and they checked her relationships?), and was willing to overlook her enemy to support Tabitha.
- When Dil becomes pregnant with an alien child, Tabitha shows no problems with having an unplanned addition to the family, and displays no aversion to Dalien's nature. Also, her panic for her husband when he is about to give birth is justified and rather sweet.
- Via Dan and Phil, the Howlters also create an environment for Dalien that lets him feel at home as a space creature, and try to provide him with items that will make him feel represented and accepted on Earth.
- Dab doesn't want a sibling and is hostile to Dalien at first. He definitely warms up to him after a few episodes, even giving him a hug without being prompted to!
- As they both grow up, Dab steps into the Cool Big Bro role by spraying the monster under Dalien's bed. Even when Dalien ends up taking it as an opportunity to steal Dab's bed, forcing him to sleep in Dalien's kid-sized bed, Dab doesn't seem at all upset and gives his brother a kiss goodnight.
- Even after Dab moves out, their bond remains as strong as ever, as after a stressful first day of high school, the first thing Dalien does is visit Dab & Evan's apartment to hang out and order a pizza together.
- When Dab and Evan age up to teenagers, the first thing Evan does (well, after shouting every curse he knows) is to go to the Howlters' and talk to his friend. They never spent much time together in their younger stages, but apparently, they are close enough to hang out immediately after entering their newest stage of life.
- After an awkward scene where Dab gets rejected for trying to kiss Evan's hands, the two hang out, and Evan is swayed by a rose that Dab gives him. Seems like they could get together after all...
- The scene that prompted said hand-kiss was Dan and Phil being worried about Evan's uncomfortable reaction to learning that Dalien is...well, the last five letters of his name. Regardless of whether the kiss was distracting enough, Evan seems to get over it pretty quickly and shows no further worry.
- While Bob and Eliza making out in the other room from Evan and Dab doubles as a Funny Moment, it becomes rather sweet in comparison to how their marriage was before.
- On a jungle adventure, Devan starts to become a thing, as Evan gets the beginnings of a pink romance bar with Dab, the dreaded hand kiss finally works for Dab, and the two take a nice selfie together.
- In the next episode, the two Sims have a successful first kiss.
- Dab and Evan becoming boyfriends and exchanging promise rings.
- The way Dan and Phil express concern about Dalien removing his human disguise. It's clear they'd like him to feel free to be an alien, but they're worried that it might not turn out so well.
- When Dab lands his first acting gig, Dalien is the first one to message him and congratulate his brother on getting the job.
- Dab's first acting job goes spectacularly well, and Dan and Phil repeatedly express their pride in him.
- Dab and Evan getting engaged during Winterfest.
Season 2
- In Season 2 Episode #2, while Dil and Tabitha go into the Pancakes' house to say goodbye, Dan and Phil briefly zoom in on Dalien just in time to see him giving Nuki a kiss on the nose.
- Despite having a pretty awkward first day at high school and accidentally outing himself as an alien, Dalien manages to make a few friends in the form of Alijah Grimm, Malcolm Landgraab, and Cassandra Goth.
- And on the note of Cassandra, she and Dalien manage to find some common ground in their mutually Gloomy dispositions.
- Dab asking his mom and dad to be the Sim of Honor and officiant respectively at his wedding.
Other
- Despite playfully mocking its cheesiness throughout, Dan says he genuinely had fun playing The Mark of Oxin, a game Phil made when he was fourteen.
- In the last Undertale episode, Phil admits he almost cried when Frisk hugs Asriel.
- During their playthrough of Don't Scream, a game which penalizes you for screaming at the jumpscares, Dan and Phil's instinctive reactions to the scares is to cling onto each other for support.
- Despite being titled "Roasting our own Red Carpet Fashion", Dan and Phil spend much of the video complimenting each other. Dan frowns when Phil suggests his The Last Jedi premiere look wasn't as cool as Dan's, repeatedly reassuring him he looked "lovely".
