• One of the first things that Jaune does is give Ozpin the Sword of Ozma, a powerful magical weapon that used to belong to Ozpin's ancestor. As Ozpin notes, while Jaune clearly didn't realize exactly how powerful the sword was, he knew enough, and the gesture was a very genuine attempt at friendship that Ozpin takes to heart.
• This version of Jacques Schnee is a far nicer and more empathetic person, albeit due to having one of his children taken from him and his wife being killed by the drink.
