Season One

  • Gabi and Sam repairing their friendship in the finale. Enhanced by Peter cutting the conversation to play over previous footage of the two of them acting like the best friends they've always been, and only showing them at the party when they've finished talking and just sitting together.
  • Dylan defending Peter saying "He doesn't deserve that" when the documentary gets him suspended.
  • While part of his motivation was simply to make any documentary, the fact that Peter chose to make the focus of the documentary on questioning Dylan's guilt, a guy who most assumed was guilty. Despite the fact that Dylan can act like a real jerk even to Peter when he's trying to help him, the sheer fact that Peter is willing to go above and beyond to prove that he could be innocent is heartwarming. Especially when one realizes that Peter could've easily made a straightforward documentary about Dylan's supposed crime and paint him just as guilty as everyone else did.
  • When Sarah is calling Peter out for invading her personal life and publicly revealing her sexual history, she also points out how Peter also wronged Mackenzie with his putting her emotional issues with her parents’ on-off relationship in the documentary, since neither ended up having anything to do with Dylan’s case and only served to humiliate them. There isn’t anything in the show to imply that Mackenzie and Sarah are friends, so it’s nice that Sarah still stood up for her.

Season Two

  • Chloe contacting Peter and Sam for help proving Kevin’s possible innocence, and doing everything she can to help their cause.
  • Chloe tells the story of Kevin overhearing her singing "Party in the USA" and telling her that, even though the song is an "ocular catastrophe," it sounds good when she's singing it. She mentions that she looked up "ocular" later and realized Kevin had mis-used it, but she appreciated the sentiment so much she didn't care.
  • In the finale of Season 2, where Chloe and Tanner realize that Kevin did the brownout because he felt absolutely friendless, and start making an effort to spend time with him. The final scene showing the Horsehead Collective playing again suggests that the band is getting back to doing what they love and possibly even heading for some sort of success.
    • Overall, by the end of the final episode of season 2, Kevin seems much happier and more secure in himself than he did previously, and says he's genuinely excited and optimistic for a fresh start at a new school.
  • On Peter’s laptop one can see recent chat logs between him and Gabi, Sam, Dylan, and Alex, proving that he is still close with them. Especially heartwarming in Dylan’s case, given how Season One ends.
