Tim's father retiring early becomes this is hindsight. Tim jokes he did it seemingly to spend more time playing table tennis with his son. His father actually did retire early to spend more time with his son, due to knowing in a few years he'd be dead due to lung cancer.
The final goodbye between Tim and his father. They decide to go back in time together to spend a day by the beach when Tim was a child. Bit of a Tearjerker too.
It was pouring rain on Tim and Mary's outdoor wedding reception, ultimately causing the tent to collapse, and everyone to get soaked. It was obviously within Tim's power to go back and pick a different day, but Mary was so happy that she insisted that she wouldn't have changed a thing.
During a montage of Tim's new life as a father, we hear his narration about how he hardly ever bothered to change even one instant of watching his baby grow because everything was perfect.
