  • Why don't the Nobility repopulate by turning humans?
    • In the novels, the Nobles are insanely fixated on their lineage. Their god is the "Sacred Ancestor" who is the source of all vampires. The bigger, more prestigious your family, the more say you have in their government. Whenever you have the Nobles talking about each other, it's almost always all about the great deeds they, or their families have accomplished, and how long they ruled how big a territory, or how they were personally shown a coin trick by the Sacred Ancestor one time. Being a turned vampire instead of a naturally born one, means that you're fit to be a servant. But the idea of rebuilding their society on a bunch of upstart, noveau-vamped former victims is probably insulting enough for the "Great Nobility" to consider all-out war against whoever suggested it.
