Headscratchers / The Tale of the Princess Kaguya

Go To

  • How much time has passed between the bamboo cutter's family moving to town and the end of the movie? The only Time Skip mentioned was three years, but Kaguya's childhood love interest seems to have aged about ten years between the village years and the last time we see him.
    • At the most it's around seven years. When Kaguya went back to the village to discover it mostly abandoned, a man told her all the woodcutters had left for ten years to give the wood some time to replenish. The next time we see him at the village it looks like he's just arrived back, meaning the ten years are only recently up or about to be. It's weird there's no other indication of quite a long time-skip though.
      • That was a dream sequence, no?
      • But also real, like the other one.

  • Sure they mobilized quite an army and the children were a nice touch. But how there's not a single Miko present? Even if it didn't change the ending the least they could do was try appeasing the moon.
    • Appease them with what? Moreover, Miko communicates with Japanese deities. None of the Lunarians are Japanese, or deities. They are literally aliens from outer-space.
