Headscratchers / The Flash (2014) S6E9 "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Hour Three"

  • Why won't Lucifer or, say, his father do anything to stop the Crisis? Lucifer seems to be aware of it, and the existence of multiple realities isn't news to him.
    • And what exactly have have either of them done for humanity since the death of Jesus?
    • I mean, there is a reason that the Spectre shows up to talk to Oliver. The Spectre is God's Vengeance, so God might actually be working to stop the Anti-Monitor.
    • Lucifer seems to think the Crisis is just another way to describe the Biblical Apocalypse, which would make it God's will — and he has a lot of learned helplessness when it comes to his father.
    • Also, who says he is strong enough to stop the Anti-Monitor?
    • In the comics he ambiguously doesn't. God is all powerful but only within the universe. The Anti-Monitor transcends and exerts his power from beyond universes. He and his brothers are seniors to the entire multiverse.
    • Even though Lucifer might be an In Name Only version to Lucifer, we can assume that as a character from Vertigo Comics, he is unaffected by whatever happens in The DC Universe as Neil Gaiman had intended with The Sandman and all its characters (Morpheus, The Endless,The Presence, etc.); this includes Crisis Crossovers.
    • Considering Lucifer is well aware of the whole Crisis, yet is treating it like nothing more than an annoying distraction, it seems pretty likely that he's powerful enough to at the very least survive against the Anti-Monitor.
    • Who says they're not? Maybe God put the heroes into play against the Anti-Monitor.
    • To be fair, in a tv show "God" is the writers & they did indeed have big plans for this.
    • Lucy may have been so nonchalant because he understood The End as a suitably dramatic vehicle to implement a downy-soft reboot. Maybe that's all Armageddon ever was to this version of Lucifer?
    • Given Heaven and Hell, like the Vanishing Point, are outside of time and space.
      • Until the end of Lucifer season 4, Lucifer did not care about anything but himself. Lucifer still has his 'get out of Hell free' coin, and can easily return to Hell until things settle down. He might even remember to bring Maze.
      • As demonstrated in Lucifer episode S 03 E 26 'Once Upon a Time,', God knows what happens in the multiverse. God can also do "Let there be light" again.
      • Who's to say that 'Mum' isn't the creator of the anti-matter multiverse; 'The Good, the Bad and the Crispy,' Lucifer S 02 E 18? And God is letting this scenario play out, because God knows the outcome.
      • The last being existing at the end of the Neil Gaiman universe/multiverse is not the Anti-Monitor. It's Death. "You see, this really is it. The Universe is over. It's my job to put it all in order, now, and lock the place behind me as I leave." Death, The Books of Magic.
    • It’s entirely possible God isn’t capable of controlling universes outside of the one(s) he made.
