Olvan and Unstable Equilibrium
Given the big plot twist that Lemele is actually GORSIA in disguise, why would he accept Olvan as an apprentice? With six apprentices and seven runes, he appears to be setting up an Unstable Equilibrium. Olvan's presence ruins that. A seventh apprentice makes theoretically possible that each apprentice finds one and only one of the runes, resulting in a stalemate. And that, in turn, thwarts the ultimate goal of collecting all the runes in one place.
- The apprentices are not united or even allies, it doesn't matter how many of them there are they'll gladly fight among themselves to get all the Runes. Having such a diverse group with such varying goals ensures competition instead of cooperation, they're not going to compromise.
