Using Tools

  • During the school field day competition, the chimps had a advantage because as primates they could use (human) tools. But doesn’t that also mean the two human could also use tools to their advantage? So why didn't they?
    • They likely weren't informed of the fact that using tools to that extent was possible. And even if they were, Jin and the others probably didn't learn how to drive a motorcycle or use any other tools to thier advantage, which too requires training time they hadn't.

Animals looking kinda human

  • Other than their Little Bit Beastly traits, why the hell does all female animals’s designs look human?? Aren’t they supposed to be animals? At least Beastars, BNA: Brand New Animal, Aggretsuko and Odd Taxi got their designs of female animals done right.
    • Prolly because humanoids might be a li'l bit easier to draw and animate than anthro animals.

Some confusion.

  • OK, so Yeen-kun believes he's AMAB due to her pseudopenis. Spotted hyenas were once believed to be hermaphrodites, so it's not unreasonable for this kind of mistake to happen within the logic of the show. However:
    • Did he never bathe with his mother while she was alive? She should have been able to see that their setup was the same down there. (Perhaps the excuse is that Yeen-kun's mother died in childbirth, but the riskiest birth for spotted hyenas is the first one.)
    • Did he not become the (wo)man of the household once her mother died? The lowest-ranked female spotted hyena outranks the highest-ranked male, so she should have become the head of the household at that point.
    • Why do other hyena girls flock to her? They should be acting just as butch as he does, while male hyenas Squee about her suave and chivalrous personality.
      • A way of reading this is that, Yena didn't really act like female hyena until a certain point (inasmuch as y'all could define as per this show), thus, his female family members treated him like they would if Yena were biologically male, which Yena didn't really mind (as he had no real reason to presume otherwise). On top of this, hyenas in general don't really go off looks to differentiate male from female, they figure it out by smell and behavior. To address the point about their anatomy, the differences betwixt them become apparent post-partum. As far as why other female hyenas are quite fond of him, well, he acts, in a way, "dominant", so there is that note
