Headscratchers / Over the Hedge

  • After getting the food for Vincent, why didn't RJ empty the wagon before taking it to rescue his friends? He didn't need the food, so maybe Vincent wouldn't have chased him (although considering he wants a cooler and a wagon of specific color, he might have still chased RJ).
    • It probably would have taken too much time.
  • At the beginning, the animals are shocked to see the hedge and the settlement behind it, implying that it wasn’t there before they went into hibernation. However, it takes a lot longer than one winter to build, (let alone settle into), a new housing development. Were the zoners and construction crew working faster than Hammy on Mac 6? Or did the animals just completely gloss over a noticeable intrusion for years?
  • Why doesn't RJ just run away from Vincent? Yes, Vincent tells him not to and that he'll hunt him down and eat him if he does, but Vincent's giving a full week's head start. RJ, being a small agile raccoon, can easily travel a long distance in that time. Vincent is a huge bear. Not only is getting around harder for him but people are not going to take kindly to seeing a bear and will likely shoot it on sight.
