Headscratchers / Original Sin

• Okay, I know most people are acting shocked over the whole "Nick Fury is an old man all along", but am I seriously the only one who remembers how in ''Battle Scars'' the last of the Infinity Formula was drained from his body? I mean come on guys, why is everyone shocked?
  • On that note, why do people think Fury's been like this for years? Am I seriously the only one who remembers said Infinity Formula draining?
  • I think most of the characters who knew of the Formula being drained assumed that its loss just meant that Fury would age normally from then on, rather than just becoming an old man that abruptly.
• Is it really that logical to believe Dum Dum Dugan has been a robot for 50 years and no one has ever come across it? That includes his multiple captures and scans by Hydra and others or the Skrulls abducting him?
• Wow, so bullets doused in gamma radiation can kill anything, up to and including extradimensional demons and living planets (for some reason). Well that's certainly a useful tidbit that would have been good to know many years ago, and that the other heroes surely won't forget now that they've learned it.
• Everyone is calling Fury a mass murderer, despite the fact that, until Uatu, he seems to have just been killing demons, monsters, and the like, of the sort that even the noblest of our heroes rarely ever gave a second thought about killing. His reputation is ruined over this?
  • Actually, if something has the potential to be a threat to Earth. It's basically the scale that makes it shocking.
  • It's more that in the lengths he went to protect Earth, he caused intergalactic wars and judging by how he says "I've burned worlds," he even committed genocide. Good intentions of not, that is far beyond the pale for any superhero worth their salt.
• How and why can the Watcher's eye be turned into some kind of psychic bomb?
• Fury has been the very visibly active head of the super-CIA for decades. He's been doing all this in his spare time? He has spare time? Nice to have lotsa lookalike robots, apparently.
