Headscratchers / Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy

Go To

  • Why did Ernest invite someone he knows better than anyone else is both compelled to and able to expose any truth put in front of them to be the adjudicator of his puzzle-party? More over, why did he also post an invitation addressed to Professor Layton to the agency when he knew for a fact that Professor Layton isn't there?
    • Outside of his misguided desire for revenge, Ernest is an extremely nice guy. He may have invited Katrielle because some part of himself wanted to be caught, and as stated, he knows better than anyone that Katrielle would be able to do that.
    • As to the latter question, he surely knew that she would receive and respond to an invitation addressed to her father.
  • When Ernest and her mother were destitute, why didn't they sell the Richmond mansion? Judging by the looks of it, surely they would've gotten quite a bit of money from the sale.
  • Why do the Seven Dragons allow Lord Adamas to force them into the puzzle-solving contest? Adamas is obviously trying to blackmail them, but they didn't actually steal the diamond mine from Maximilian Richmond, unlike Adamas thinks, so there's nothing to blackmail them with. And they also know that there's no hidden Richmond fortune to be won in the contest, so why do they all agree to do it?
