• What was that lever with the DON'T TOUCH!! post-it at the Live Aid concert? And why did the tech guy put it at max before Queen came to the stage?
  • It was the master control of an audio board. The tech guy INCREASED the volume for Queen when it was time for their performance.
  • I do believe the tech guy was actually their manager, Jim Beach.
    • Their FOH tech IRL went by the name Trip, apparently. May have been a nickname.
  • Wembly Stadium is in the heart of London, part of the rules for doing Live Aid there was that the volume could not exceed a certain amount, hence the notes telling everyone "DO NOT TOUCH!" In the actual performance, Queen did somehow manage to break this rule, contributing to the overall legendary status of that particular performance.
• Why did Freddy freak out so much when Mary tells him she's pregnant? Especially since it took him just a minute to go from a betrayed "How could you?" to a heartfelt "I'm very happy for you".
  • Given that Freddy and Mary planned to get married, it's not inconceivable (pardon the pun) that having a child together was part of their long range plans as well. Freddy more than likely simultaneously felt both jealousy and disappointment that Mary wasn't having his child as well as genuine joy that she was having a child.
  • Perhaps before then he was entertaining the delusion that there was a chance for them to get back together, but learning how committed she was to her current partner made him realize how impossible that was.
