Headscratchers / All the Money in the World

Go To

  • How does Gail completely forget that Paul has had a supposedly million-dollar piece of art all this time? You'd imagine that a woman who is two months behind on her rent and struggling to make ends meet for her three children would have thought a lot about that million-dollar trinket in her home over the years.
    • She does not; at almost 90 minutes into the movie, Gail remembers the statue and takes it to be appraised and sold and discovers that it is a common trinket sold to tourists which has been aged.
    • The question is why it took her months into the kidnapping to remember about it, and indeed, why she had not thought about it before the kidnapping at all, despite struggling with money.
    • Easy, it was her son's property and she respected that.
      • That explains why she never took it to pay her bills, but it doesn't explain why it takes her months to apparently even consider that it might help save that same son's life.
