Warning: Spoilers Off applies to these pages. Proceed at your own risk

  • Uncle has serious trouble with alcohol.
    • In Granbahamal, he gets so drunk he needs Elf-san to help him to his room. She thought they were going to do it there... but he instead thanks her and closes the door.
    • He's shown as only drinking one or two cans of a 3 or 5% alcohol beverage before suddenly getting all wobbly, implying he's a lightweight.
    • In Japan, he tries to take Fujimiya and Takafumi on a flight, but his drunkenness means all three are whirling through the sky and he’s terrified them both.
  • Every time Uncle gives a ring, expect comical misunderstandings, courtesy of everyone he gives them to interpreting it romantically.
    • He gave one ring to Elf-san because she saved him from a lynching and so he owed her.
    • He gives another ring to Mabel because he rendered her jobless.
    • He gives a third ring to Hagen Regfalgen to pay for Elf-san’s debts. Cue Hagen’s shocked reaction and Elf-san’s fury at this.
      • Uncle magically seals the ring to his finger, making him unable to take it off. Hagen laments that this makes it look like he and Uncle are engaged, to which his soldiers start clapping and congratulating him. The ensuing conversation makes the whole thing even more hilarious:
Uncle: I'm sorry...I had no idea she owed you money. *(Slides the ring on his finger)* Please accept this token of my feelings.
    • Later on Elf-san questions Alicia as to whether she got a ring too, and is relieved that she didn’t.
    • He gives a fourth ring to Mabel (her second) as thanks for her singing, causing the Divine Frost Sword to start melting. Elf-san soothes her wounded ego by muttering about how they've moved beyond the rings, attempting to use Uncle's name as a sign of their closeness, but then Uncle goes and reveals his name to Mabel and Alicia, much to Elf-san's horror and fury.
  • At a town protected by a barrier, Uncle breaks the barrier out of curiosity. When Elf-san goes on a suicidal last stand he gets the barrier back up just in time, causing her to crash into it.
    • The manga shows her crashing into the barrier with the reader’s view being outside the barrier and a “smack” sound effect added to indicate her crash. The anime’s version of the same scene has a close up of her face the moment she crashes into barrier.
    • She later thanks him and says he owes her dinner as a token of gratitude... but he takes it as a blackmail threat and escapes. Takafumi’s frustrated reaction at this is side-splitting.
  • Uncle gave his jacket to Elf-san and she refuses to give it back. She knocks him out for it.
  • A fight occurs between Mabel and Uncle, then Elf-san appears and sees Uncle has pinned Mabel to the ground in a posture that evokes a sexual experience. She releases Mabel, who freezes him.
  • Mabel is terrified of serious jobs... like baking cakes, selling toys, and being a florist. Despite this, she refuses to sell the ring Uncle gave her despite Elf-san's urging, greatly displeasing her.
    • Elf-san is so threatened by Alicia's presence, she travels back to the city she sold Uncle's ring in just to buy it back.
  • Mabel starts talking to her mother in her sleep... which descends into a rant over her mother leaving her.
  • Uncle and Alicia's party encounters a giant hedgehog. Sonic fan Uncle tries to talk with the hedgehog, but when he discovers it's a sadist that enjoys killing humans painfully he wastes no time blasting it to death. The entire 180-degree arc for a large distance is shown as black with glowing red bits, probably including where there used to be a dungeon entrance.
  • The "fight" where Uncle killed the Elder Venom Dragon is hilarious in how anti-climatic it is. Uncle just swoops in and one-shots the damn thing (although he later made it clear that Elf had severely weakened it). It's even more hilarious in the anime where Uncle flies in, pierces the dragon, and lands sticking himself to the ground bobbling like a clumsily thrown javelin.
  • Mabel develops quite a mischievous streak over the course of the story.
    • When she gets subjected to a strip search from Uncle in case she has a parasite in her body, she convinces him to give Elf-san the same treatment.
    • She talks Uncle into giving Alicia a flight in the sky, which she doesn't want but gets anyway. Elf-san is not amused.
      • Raiga and Edgar ask for a lift too, but they end up throwing up afterwards.
    • On a winter evening, she finds it warm for her (as an ice maiden, she’s unaffected by winter), then Uncle puts a cold hand into her dress, and she has an orgasm. Elf-san hears her, and demands that Uncle does the same to her too.
  • Uncle tries to explain Santa Claus to Elf-san and Mabel, only they mistake him for a serial killer.
  • Elf-san threatening the little girl who works at the hot spring when she refutes the claim that there's only one room left.
  • Elf-san spying on Alicia and Uncle in the hot spring with a sniper rifle, and firing wildly once things start getting a little too steamy between them.
  • The battle against the dragon has enough of these:
    • Mabel is frozen with fear, pun intended, at the thought of serious action. Her sword turns into a misshapen chunk of ice to reflect her paralyzed state.
      • She calls Raiga and Edgar stupid "spiked-hair" and "stupid comb-over"
      • When she sees an opportunity to get out, she tries to leave... only to find the dragon, as a rival of the Ice Clan, has its eyes on her wherever she moves. And it keeps its eyes fixated on her, turning very slowly as Mabel moves around.
    • Elf-san can't fly but Uncle can, so she asks him to carry her in his arms. He instead wraps a chain around her and carries her like a handbag. Once the battle is all over he does the same with Alicia, Raiga and Edgar.
  • Uncle finally think up of a plan to return to Japan... but Elf wants to destroy it as soon as possible. For added emphasis, she uses her Star-Breaker ultimate weapon.
