Episode 2: The Man Who Created SKaRD

  • Gento going around to enlist the SKaRD candidates has plenty of comedic moments.
    • Gento and Emi's first meeting has either of them fighting to foot the bill for their lunch themselves.
    • Teruaki enlistment has him scrambling to find a pen to sign his enlistment form. Gento hands him one of his, only for it to have no ink, so he grabs one from the table instead.
    • Anri uses Gento's back to sign her enlistment form, accidentally stabbing him with the pen in the process. As Gento and Emi were leaving the moment she was done, Gento poked at Emi's back using the very same pen he was stabbed by.
    • Gento and Emi went to the development site to find Yasunobu, only to discover that the file they had on him was outdated as the personal informed them Yasunobu had already transferred over elsewhere (Much to Gento's visible frustration). Due to the blaring noises of the engines in the background, everyone involved in the conversation had to yell at the top of their voices to be able to hear each other.
  • The old fisherman attempts to valiantly protect the ships from Gedos... with a measly harpoon (something that Gento lampshades the Kaiju would hardly feel any pain from). He faints anyway when said kaiju destroys a nearby building and starts approaching him and Gento. On that note there is also Blazar getting the latter's attention soon after by heating up the Blazar Stone intensely,
  • In his battle with Gedos, Blazar uses his Spiral Burrade as a fishing rod (complete with a bait for Gedos to chow on at that), and later spears the monster like shish kebab.
  • It turns out the team Yasunobu was transferred to was SKaRD, actually joining before Gento and the other members. He was the one who upgraded the van (before Anri could do so herself) that was initially nothing to write home about offscreen, and was the one responsible for the manual for SKaRD's new weaponry. The reason why he wasn't seen in SKaRD HQ was because he was busy working on the Earth Garon.

Episode 3: The Name is Earth Garon

  • Blazar tries to grab Taganular's abdomen to get its attention, before pulling back after being scorched. He then tries to kick it and gets burnt again, with Taganular still not budging. What finally gets its attention is a few laser chops to the back. During their fight, after Blazar pushes Taganular away from him on the ground, he can be heard yelling something similar to "Hot! Hot! Hot!" as he got back up.

Episode 4: Thus Fought Emi

  • In order to hide his identity as Blazar, Gento instructs Emi to run away while he holds the kaiju off. Upon being questioned by her how he'd do so...
Gento: W-with this! *whips out his sidearm*

  • Between meetings, Hiroshi Sonezaki claims to take a brief repose through meditation. In actuality, he listens to songs praising his enormous ego, sung by himself.

Episode 5: The Mountain Roars

  • After being struck by Dorgo the first time, Earth-Garon gets dizzy-eye-swirls despite not even being capable of dizziness.
  • Apparently Blazar doesn't follow the rules of anatomy, which he demonstrates by outright bending his rear backwards beyond what is humanly possible. Something of which was done just so he has extra propelling power to hurl his snapped Spiral Burrade at the cannons attached on Dorgo's back.
  • After Dorgo is neutralized, Blazar pushes it to a mountain where it blends in with the scenery.

Episode 6: The Invading Aurora

  • Teruaki gives Gento a whole bag of tomatoes to give to Yasunobu.
  • Gento walks in on Yasunobu talking to his favorite washing machine, which he named Cururu. They notice each other after the former drops a tomato, with Yasunobu trying to defend himself. Gento realizes he caught him at an awkward moment and leaves.
  • Herbie tries to get Yasunobu to join the Cannan's invasion plot, saying "It’ll be a good fit for [him]", and offering a plastic wrapped version of her shirt. She laughs at her own pun and acts very proud of it. Yasunobu dismisses it as lame.
  • Yasunobu tries to follow Herbie, but stops when another customer tries to come into the laundromat. He notices Yasunobu isn’t wearing a shirt and decides to just leave, with a very blank expression on his face.note
  • Yasunobu apologizes to Cururu, asking it to take him to Herbie’s location. Cururu obliges by conjuring a portal leading him towards the Alien Cannan's base of operations.
  • After Yasunobu walks through said portal, Gento (who had seen the phenomenon earlier and was requested by Yasunobu to look out for the Earth Garon) asks Cururu to show him where Yasunobu is. He first asks it as if it was a small child, then pleads with it like a peasant would plead to their lord. Cururu obliges.
"U-Um… Cururu, my boy? Uh, or is it little Cururu? Please. Could you show me where Yasunobu is?
(desperately) Please, Lord Cururu! The Most Honorable Cururu! I beg you!"
  • While having a Cannan-controlled Earth Garon shake the SkaRD van over a hundred feet in the air is terrifying, Teruaki’s tomatoes spilling out and bouncing around flips it around to being hilarious.
    • Their mobile outpost vehicle landing perfectly upright after rolling around is also rather unintentionally amusing to witness
  • Blazar tries to shake the pain of his hand after punching Earth Garon.
  • The Alien Cannan try to flee using a modified wind turbine. Only to be sliced in half by Blazar for their effort.
  • As the previous episode and this reveals, Blazar can "squash and stretch" his body like a cartoon character (Here he demonstrates by rotating his upper body clockwise sevral times before unravelling just to propel his Spiral Burrade's throwing speed). The sheer absurdity of this ability is as hilarious as it is weirdly awesome.

Episode 8: Rainbow Appears: Part 2

  • After Nijikagachi's defeat, Teruaki approaches Yokomine and requests one thing from him as the professor lays defeated... his autograph.
Emi: (in visible disbelief) At a time like this...?

Episode 14: Moonlight Monster

  • The episode starts with Anri playing with kaiju figures on a planning diorama.
  • When battling Deltandal with Earth Baron, Gento tries to advise her on focusing on their target and shooting at it without thinking too much about aim. Anri's response?

Episode 15: Betwixt Morn and Dusk

Episode 16: Terror from the Underground

  • After being exposed to Mogusion's fear-inducing hand lights, Teruaki breaks composure and screams in fear. Just before fainting, he reveals to Yasunobu that the monster in the hole looked like... a bean cake. This is immediately followed by a shot of bean cakes squirming in the hole.
  • The absurdity of the hospital scene, Teruaki got hospitalized as well and pretty much tried to hide himself after being restricted to bed rest and took with himself a picture of his exam test to explain how Mogusion's powers work, cue him being discovered by the nurse and the SKaRD members that got hospitalized as well and then promptly dragged back to bed:
    Anri: Teruaki?! Teruaki!?! AAAAAAHH!
Yasunobu: Huh? Teruaki's here? Why's he here???
  • After Emi pilots Earth Garon alongside the newly-introduced AI Earthy, Yasunobu complains that she got to work with the AI before he did.
  • Doubling as Nightmare Fuel, but when Emi is piloting Earth Garon to help Blazar fight Mogusion, she is hit by the monster's illusion attack, and what is it that she sees, a giant version of herself wreaking havoc and duking it out with Blazar. It's unnerving yet awkwardly funny at the same time.

Episode 17: The Wandering Zangill

  • While Gento and Zangill are observing the resurrected Nijikagachi, the alien samurai grabs his ally by the arm and hurls him into the air. All Gento can do is call SKaRD and order them to deploy the Earth Garon, but the call is muddied by static from the rushing wind around him, creating a garbled and barely audible mess, leaving Teruaki and the rest of the SKaRD members utterly confused as to what his situation is.
Gento: (Screaming at the top of his lungs) It's me! It's me! Deploy the Earth Garon!
    *Awkward Silence*
    Teruaki: Captain?
  • When Nijikagachi's tail phases through Blazar's Tilsonite Sword, after Zangill saves him, Blazar curiously taps his sword with his fist, as if it was defective.

Episode 20: Night of Insects Chirping

  • As punishment for disobeying their higher ups in the previous episode, SKaRD is forced to... create a monster safety PSA called "The Lesson on What to Do When a Kaiju Appears". This ends up becoming a Running Gag throughout the entire episode.
    • At the start of the episode, the SKaRD members show off their Bad "Bad Acting" by reading their script in a hilariously nonchalant monotone voice... before Yasunobu butts in dressed as a superhero and ad-libs.
    • When preparing to film the PSA, SKaRD (sans Teruaki) dress in ridiculous outfits (Gento as a chef, Yasunobu reprising his superhero disguise, Emi as a housewife and Anri as a young girl). When Teruaki informs them of the kaiju infestation just before they start filming, Gento explains his plan while performing a Glasses Pull with his fake mustache.
    • At the end of the episode, Gento receives a radio call from SKaRD higher-ups. While the other members expect to be reprimanded, Gento lets them know that they've been left off the hook... but now have to create a unique version of the PSA for every single (47) prefecture in Japan. Cue groans from his teammates.

Episode 21: Battle in the Sky

  • Building off the previous episode's ending, SKaRD is still making "The Lesson on What to Do When a Kaiju Appears" PSAs. When asked how much longer this will take them, Gento nonchalantly explains they only have 32 left, cueing more groans.

Episode 23: Visitor 99

  • Blazar resorts to forcing Gento to punch himself in order to get Gento some proper rest.
