Oath 1

• Right from page 1 we see a prime example of Garovel, Deadpan Snarker extraordinaire:
  Garovel: I'm sorry, friend, but I'm not joking. If I were joking, you'd be laughing. I'm hilarious.
• On his first trip out to fight crime, Hector sneaks out of the house, and... breaks both of his legs.
• After rescuing a woman who was about to be murdered by a serial killer, Hector has this to say:
  Hector: Sorry, I'd untie you, but.. you should probably stay and explain... uh, to the police... about what he tried to do to you. Otherwise, he could... you know... get away with it... and... yeah... [...] Oh! But, uh... don’t worry! The police will be here any minute. And he’s unconscious now. And I tied him up just in case. So... uh... y-you’re safe, now. And I-I should, I should go...
• As well as this quote:
  [Hector] barely felt capable of walking, as if he’d just run a marathon where the prize was getting run over by a bus.
• Hector goes to rescue a police officer from being killed by some goons...
  Goon: Who the fuck are you? What's with the fucking mask?
  Hector: Uh... I-I heard you had some leaky pipes?
• Garovel tells Hector to make some friends. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
  • Later, he is invited to join a few other kids at their lunch table. He doesn't stick around for long, though.

Oath 2

• When Geoffrey inherits the family business following his uncle's death, we get a glimpse into his thought process:
  ...So when he set his sharp eyes upon this strange man, the first thought through Geoffrey’s head was that he would very much like to torture this person. So he did.
• After some meditation and a few battles, Hector's iron ability has grown considerably. Which he demonstrates to Garovel right in front of a nearby family getting some gas.
• Roman and Voreese's Establishing Character Moments are a sight to behold.
  Roman: I'm Roman. And you fuckers aren't welcome in my country.
  Voreese: And I'm Voreeese. This is our land, you shitheads.
  Roman: Oh, shut up. No one cares what you have to say.
  Voreese: Fucking brat! I'm the important one here! You're just my servant!
  Roman: You'd be dead if it wasn't for me!
  Voreese: No, you would! I’d have found a different servant! One who didn’t give me so much lip, you four-eyed fuckwit!
  Roman: Imaginary bitch!
  • For extra points, to anyone who isn't a servant, (i.e., Lynn) Roman basically introduced himself then started screaming obscenities into thin air. It's anyone's guess as to what she thought of that.
• Starting here, Desmond and Geoffrey have a cheerful conversation about murder and destruction.
