• In "To the Sunset", Kate wants to get Firemaker (a Native American who's been falsely accused of murder) out of jail before racial conflict breaks out between Firemaker's tribe and white vigilantes. She bribes Deputy Folliard with some French whiskey, waits until he drinks it and falls asleep, then leaves with Firemaker. When Sheriff Logan discovers his slumbering deputy, he is not pleased.
  Sheriff Logan: When he wakes up, knock him out again.
• The Drama Bomb episode "On Account of Huckleberries" has some funny moments to balance things out. When Kenji tries coffee for the first time, he describes it (in Japanese) as "burnt dung". And then there's this exchange, following a scene of Kate at her most high-falutin':
  Sheriff Logan: How do you stand her, Will?
  Will: They pay me. (Beat) Sometimes.
