    open/close all folders
     1 - The Awakening
  • The old man provides the first moment of levity taken straight from the game. He scolds Link for taking a baked apple, but then relents. note
  • The robotic Sheikah Slate voice warns Link to watch for falling rocks, which makes Link wonder what that means. He's answered quickly when the ground trembles and the towers rise from the ground.

2 - The Trials of the Runes
  • Link's annoyance with the old man Moving the Goalposts.
  • The old man somehow gets to the top of the tower faster than a teleporting Link, and playfully teases Link for taking so long to catch up.
  • Link remarks that the monsters aren't exactly bright considering that they have an explosive barrel hanging right above their camp.
  • The very first time Link encounters a Decayed Guardian is a nightmare...until Link comes up with an idea that he says is beyond bad. He uses his shield to reflect the device's beam back at it.
  • Link expresses childlike awe at the capabilities of Magnesis to carry huge heavy metal blocks like they're feathers.
  • The narrative pokes fun at the old man's penchant for gliding in from nowhere to meet Link, outright calling it a dramatic entrance.

     3 - Secrets of a Century
  • King Rhoam gives Link his paraglider in a dramatic exposition-heavy scene...but then comments that Link doesn't need it to leave the plateau anymore since Hylia gave him the full and complete atlas of Hyrule.
     4 - Kakariko Village
  • Link gets into a fight with a monster camp, and suffers what many gamers likely suffered early into the game. His main weapon breaks.
  • Hestu's hammy reaction when seeing Link, especially because Link doesn't remember him and thus is terrified when this giant tree creature suddenly starts screaming at him.
    • Hestu comments that Link has aged really well for a Hylian.
  • Link thinks it's cute that Cottla is playing hide-and-seek with her mother in the village. This takes on a much bleaker meaning in later chapters.
  • Paya's Establishing Character Moment from the game is adapted shot-for-shot here, and is just gold. It takes her so much more effort to say her own name than to call Link by his name, and is constantly tripping over her own words.

     5 - Locked Mementos
  • The Hateno Village storekeeper's shock when Link literally buys everything stock like it's nothing.
  • The three kids spying on Hateno Ancient Tech Lab trying to see the "little girl" who's living there.
  • Link is still confused about this whole "little girl" narrative the three kids painted. When he first sees Purah, he's caught off guard and wonders how this little girl could know him.
  • Link mentions that Karin the little girl in the village saw Purah trying to bring a blue flame up the hill. Purah curses herself for being seen.
  • Link outright calls Purah a child. Just like in the game, this makes her mad...and then she concedes that it's logical for someone to jump to that conclusion, and that she looks like this because of an experiment Gone Horribly Right.
  • Purah asks Link to give her a SNAP. He gives her a SNAAAP.
  • When Link shows Purah his ancient materials, she loses it and screams so loudly that Symin and Link have to cover their ears.

     6 - Ancient Weaponry
  • A Gerudo woman Rina is aghast when Link expresses no knowledge of the Akkala Region. Her friend Lana gives her a Death Glare to stop her condescension.
  • Lana gets childishly excited to tell Link the story of Akkala Citadel. It gets better when Rina deadpans that she loves to ramble about the citadel and the Great Calamity.
  • Robbie is not surprised to find that Purah has aged backwards to childhood, even commenting that she must have screwed up some experiment. He's wrong.
  • Robbie suggests that Link wait out for the night before lighting the furnace. Link just goes outside and does it anyway, with Robbie commenting that things never change.
  • Robbie is over the moon when Cherry the ancient oven reactivates, and his actual wife Jerrin's furious reaction at his fawning over the oven.
  • For just a moment, Link realistically feels a bit apprehensive at Jerrin being in a relationship with Robbie who is decades older than she is...and then promptly sets himself straight when he remembers rumors of his relationship with Zelda with him being twice her age.
  • Bolson's Camp Gay behavior unnerves Link, but especially when Bolson starts coming a little too close for comfort and Link is afraid that Bolson will try to kiss him.

7 - Sacred Ground Ruins and Lake Kolomo
  • "Subdued Ceremony"
    • Daruk comments on Zelda's tone during the ceremony, but Revali points out that this ceremony was his idea, and apparently, the duel that came right before it, and what seem to be a whole slew of other ceremonial activities.
    • Revali, the youngest of the Champions, calls Link, who's Age Lifted to age 34, a boy.
  • "Resolve and Grief"
    • For an instant, Zelda finds herself Distracted by the Sexy when she gets a look at Link shirtless.
    • She also is surprised when Link casually comments that if the kingdom was so afraid of technology falling into the wrong hands they should have just upgraded it to prevent others from getting control of it.note

8 - The Ancient Columns and Kara Kara Bazaar
  • Kass's understandably confused reaction when Link asks him if he knows anyone whose name ends in -son.
  • When Link meets Fyson, Fyson tells him that his mother is a more pressing problem than the raging Divine Beast above the village. Even Link is a bit taken aback by these apparent Skewed Priorities. Fyson clarifies that nothing is scarier angry Rito mothers.
  • One of the issues that Link runs into in the desert is the sand getting into uncomfortable places like in between his toes.
  • Link tries to get into Gerudo Town, but like Ripp warned him, he wasn't allowed in. He just had to try it.

9 - Eldin Canyon and Irch Plain
  • Once Link knows that the Blizzrobe is near him, he immediately kills it with a single fire arrow.
  • A group of Igneo Pebblits notice Link and try to attack him. The story references their little hobbling animation, mentioning that they're "running".
  • "A Premonition"
    • Link jokes that he'll be fine in a fight because he has Zelda to keep him safe, because after all, that's the reason they're always together.
  • A Hylian Shepherd that's fully grown acts like a little puppy when Link gives him some juicy food.
  • A jaded Greyson immediately turns his attitude on a dime when Link mentions that he knows a place that could use his strength. Link even seems to know that this was likely going to happen if his smile is any indication.
  • "Silent Princess"
    • Zelda eats the eye candy, discreetly (or so she thinks) taking some pictures of the shirtless Link. She also consistently glances his way. She tries to hide this.
    • Link knows that Zelda is ogling him but allows her to do so. He indulges in a bit of this himself, looking at her curves. The narrative even says that even a Celibate Hero like Link is only human and still experiences attraction.
    • Then there's the famous scene where Zelda tries to get Link to eat a live toad. Aside from the toad not even being alarmed being held by Zelda, there's Link's more overt reaction to her trying to get him to eat the toad. Instead of just leaning back, Link ends up falling on his back to get away from her.
  • Link finds the memory so funny that he nearly cries. Why? Because he also remembers how disappointed Zelda was that he chose not to eat the toad.

10 - West Necluda and Hyrule Castle
  • Link kills the Moblin in Zelda's bedroom with its own weapon, except that Link ended up shattering the weapon in the process.
  • Link has grown so used to fighting The Dreaded Guardians that he expresses more annoyance than anything else when facing them, in a similar manner to how players become accustomed to fighting them in the game after getting some weapons that can hurt them.
  • "Father and Daughter"
    • Link and Zelda are having an intimate night together, but their clothes prove to be a bit cumbersome to remove. He's grateful that they aren't in their more formal clothes.
    • Link and Zelda the next day act a bit like naughty teenagers, with how they try to hide their relationship that they know would probably be seen as scandalous.
  • After remembering the passionate relationship he shared with Zelda, Link wonders what Zelda would think of his long hair braid.

11 - Spring of Power and Sanidin Park Ruins
  • Link gets a huge power boost so intense that it knocks him over. He grabs a rock to pull himself off...and inadvertently breaks the rocks with his hands.
  • Link's fight with the Hero's Shade in a dream is a completely serious scene, even after the Shade reveals his true moral alignment, but the narration mentions that Link's long hair was billowing everywhere and getting in his way.
  • "To Mount Lanayru"
    • Link says that he will accompany Zelda every step of the way, whatever she chooses...including the frigid steps up the cold Mount Lanayru.
    • Zelda says that she can keep herself and Link warm with her powers. Link offers a more...fun method of keeping warm.

12 - Lanayru East Gate and Hyrule Field
  • Link tests the strength of his legs after collecting so many Spirit Orbs, jumping across a gap in the Lanayru Promenade. The result of this is that he cracked the stone beneath him when he jumped.
  • "Return of Calamity Ganon"
    • In an otherwise heartwarming/tearjerking scene between Link and Zelda, the latter admits that she has to work on her anger a bit. Link immediately agrees with her.
    • Even with an apocalyptic entity having returned, Revali still has time to show some disdain towards Link.

     13 - The Blatchery Plain
  • When Link tells Impa that he remembers his life with Zelda, Impa asks him if he remembers something that they thought secret, referring to their relationship. Link can only blush in response.

     14 - The Korok Forest
  • The Hero's Shade indulges in Heroic Self-Deprecation, mentioning on how he's long since healed from a painful time in his past, even though he doesn't look like it.note
  • Hestu's appearance in the Korok Forest is sweet, but he's shown wildly waving his arms to say hello to Link.
  • The Koroks swarm Link after he draws the Master Sword, and they're all described as having unique nicknames for him, and they fight like siblings over which one he missed the most. Hestu has to break up the swarm to free up Link.

     15 - Lakna Rokee Quest
  • Paya admits to Link that while she was falling in love with Link, Paya was so innocent and naïve that she didn't even realize she was falling in love with Link and thought she was getting sick.
  • Link remarks that Paya is the only person who uses the word "scintillating" in casual conversation.
  • A scene adapts the hilarious moment that can occur in the game with Paya. Link asks Paya her story, and she mentions that she has her namesake papaya-seed shaped birthmark. When she hesitates to answer where it is, Impa screams that it's on her left butt cheek from downstairs, horrifying her granddaughter.
  • The chapter ends in a Black Comedy Anti-Climax. The Yiga Blademaster who Dorian meets with dramatically declares his intent to kill him and Link and gets ready to fight...only to be killed in one shot by an ancient arrow from Link.
  • This chapter introduces Terrako, and two other mini-Guardians in the style of the Skywatcher and Turret variants, Cerako and Argiko. The first thing they do is investigate Link's house like a bunch of dogs.

     16 - Reaching Zora's Domain
  • Gruve's entire situation. He's stuck at the top of a tower, even though he's more than capable of jumping and diving down into the river below. Even he realizes it, but he just can't bring himself to jump.
  • When Link meets Torfeau, the following exchange occurs.
Torfeau: You are a Hylian, yes?
Link: (hammily) No, I'm a parasite that's using this poor Hylian's body as a host.
Torfeau: (equally hammily) Oh no...it's not my lucky day after all. What am I ever going to do?
  • Sidon calls Link a young man, when any players of the original game already know that Link is the older between the two of them.
  • How does Link demonstrate his strength to Sidon? He grabs and breaks a rock to Sidon's surprise.
  • Link has enough strength that he can climb up the wet rock just by breaking it, but he chooses the path because he thinks it'd be more fun that way.
  • Rivan's priceless reaction to seeing Link again after 100 years. He Squees so hard that his daughter has to remind them of their duty.

17 - History of the Zora
  • Muzu's conflict with the Zora Royal Family is a bit comical, even if the context is a bit sad.
  • "Mipha's Touch"
    • Link mentions on how he was so reckless as a child and that it's where Lochlia gets hers from.

18 - Battle Against the Lynel
  • Muzu lampshades the convenience of Link's timing for remembering Mipha and Lochlia, and even Link thinks to himself that Muzu has a point.
  • Link is both horrified and proud that his daughter has taken down the Ploymus Mountain Lynel more than once.
  • Lochlia and Link don't take long to get into a stereotypical conflict in which the ages-old argument of age comes into play.
Lochlia: I am 115 years old! I am not a child, you will not talk me out of this, and there is no point in arguing this! And don't forget that I'm resistant to electricity!
Link: Lolita, I am 134 years old, you are my child, and I will not have you fighting something so dangerous! ...
    • Even Sidon found the spat funny, realizing how even a century of separation couldn't mitigate natural parent-child conflict.
  • Link mentions how Lochlia was so determined to swim up a waterfall when she was 12 (toddler age for Zoras). Lochlia is embarrassed about it because it was "only" twenty feet high.
  • Lochlia is a princess, but even she's not above piggybacking her father.

19 - The Disenthralling of Ruta
  • Link accidentally discovers his Sword Beam power and almost hits Cerako in the process.
  • It's during a tearjerking scene, but Mipha and Link have a little moment where the former points out that while their daughter looks like her, she certainly didn't get her stubbornness from her. Link concedes her point.

     20 - The Lightscale Trident
  • Lochlia is ecstatic to see her dad return alive. He jokes that she can't get rid of him that easily.
  • It's sweet but also funny when Lochlia's children learn that Link is their grandfather. They immediately swarm him and try to get him to carry them all at once, and compete for his affection.
  • Sidon gives his niece and Link a Bear Hug, and Lochlia complains telling him to try not to break them.
  • Bazz wants to have a rematch with Link, but with the caveat that Link can't use the Master Sword.

     21 - Entering Gerudo Town
  • Link visits Tarrey Town and receives his payment from Bolson...which is far more than they originally bargained for.
  • The fact that Rhondson knows that a man has entered the town before makes it clear that some of the Gerudo are deliberately ignoring the law. Apparently, the Gerudo aren't all that fond of the law either.
  • Link reads Purah's journal on her anti-aging rune. He tries to hide this from Purah, but she figures it out and trolls Link by pretending to delete everything on his Sheikah Slate. Cerako likes it, but Link isn't exactly amused.
  • Purah's reaction when Link offers her a huge pile of valuable jewels. She's over the moon, and with how exuberant and energetic she is, that's almost not an exaggeration.

22 - Reclaiming the Thunder Helm
  • Among the first things that Link notices is that the Gerudo throne has a booster seat and little stairs leading up to it, though it loses humor when Link wonders why a child is leading the Gerudo.
  • Link mildly freaks out when Buliara discerns his true gender.
  • Captain Teake nearly throws Link out of the barracks until he stammers out that Buliara sent him.
  • After a long time of very serious and nightmarish moments, the fight with Master Kohga is completely comical in nature.
    • Kohga is repeatedly described as being quite idiotic and fat, and Link has none of Kohga's antics.
    • Master Kohga's attacks that can easily be countered are just silly in nature. For example, he shields himself...and then drops the shield which lets Link attack him. The second being his metal ball attack that Link can use Magnesis to counter. And of course there are Master Kohga's increasingly childish tantrums as Link beats him.
    • Master Kohga's pathetic death. He creates a huge metal ball that rolls right onto him...and he forgets that he can teleport and falls into the massive hole behind him just like in the game. Unlike the game, Link gives him a final regard: "Fucking idiot."

23 - Prepare to Fight the Sandstorm
  • Riju's fangirl-like reaction when she Link admits his relationships with Mipha and his later one with Zelda.
  • The moment that Riju reclaims and wears the Thunder Helm is pretty cool, until it's pointed out in the narration that it's way too big for her and slips on her.
  • "Urbosa's Hand"
    • Urbosa's little prank where she uses her power over lightning to scare Zelda awake, especially when Urbosa starts laughing, leaving Zelda incredulous at the noise and Link's presence.
    • The buildup to it is just hilarious. Link immediately realizes Urbosa's mischievous plan when he sees her smile, and scrambles to shield the ears of Urbosa's baby. And even better, the baby seems happy, too.
  • Link tells Riju that the Thunder Helm looks good on her. Cerako whistles in a way that makes it clear that she doesn't agree, but thankfully Riju doesn't realize it.
  • For the second time in a day, Link is recognized as a voe by a Gerudo, this time Muava. His brief Oh, Crap! moment followed by Muava's reassurance is a nice dose of Mood Whiplash.

24 - The Liberation of Naboris
  • The Gerudo at the outpost, Sudrey, is surprised to see Link...because he's so short.
  • Riju is awestruck when she sees Link out of disguise. It's also cute and sweet, but equally funny with how she examines him like he's some new species of animal.
  • The ritual that creates the barrier against Naboris's lightning is awesome...until the Thunder Helm slips on her face.
  • Urbosa sweetly reassures Link that they'll see each other again...only after Link is an old man.

25 - The Daybreaker and the Scimitar of the Seven
  • Link being in Gerudo Town. He's the only man, and he's dressed in his Desert Voe outfit. The Gerudo of the town all watch him with different reactions, most with curiosity, and a few with disgust.
  • When Link is given the Daybreaker and the Scimitar of the Seven, he's indecisive as whether to use the Daybreaker or his own Hylian Shield, which many players may have done when playing the original game. Buliara finds it funny In-Universe.

     26 - A Dark Premonition
  • Paya recognizes that she's come so far from the girl that she used to be...because she can do something as simple as hold a conversation with Link without hiding behind her hands.
    • The poor girl gets cutely shy when Link asks to see what she's capable of doing with her Sheikah combat training.
  • Link's reaction when he learns that Purah was the one who named the Sheikah Slate after reading from Zelda's research notes? He's not even surprised.
    • This even pokes fun at real-life scientists and a running joke that they're bad at giving names to things.

27 - Learning from the Rito
  • Kola's reaction to meeting Link and learning that he's the Hylian Champion, and her giddy reactions when speaking of the Champions. It's as funny as it is sweet, especially with Link's dramatic presentation of his own story.
  • How does Kola wake up Kaneli? By jumping up and down on his lap until he wakes up.
  • "Revali's Flap"
    • Revali is just as smug and cocky as he was in the original game, and is fully showing how proud he is here, too. But this time, it's clear that Link is deliberately trying to get under his skin by staying quiet and not falling for Revali's provocations.
    • Revali has a sister, Takki, who in her only scene, is shown being entirely unimpressed with her baby brother's antics. She even has enough snark to remark that Link should have been a poet (with how he eloquently recites the whole "combat is art" philosophy).

28 - Finding an Ally in Teba
  • The curious little Cerako flies into the enormous updraft in the Flight Range. This results in her tumbling out of control.
  • Teba's Straight Man annoyance with Link's presence is comical enough, but Link responding with equally quiet and stoic responses seal the deal.
  • Link claims the challenge he receives from Teba sounds easy enough. Teba doesn't have enough time to understandably tell him otherwise, because Link immediately jumps off and exceeds the challenge and hits all the targets. As awesome as it is, it's funny to see Teba switch so quickly from coldness to hostility.
  • Teba is the latest of many people to point out that a 100-year-old plus Hylian wouldn't look like Link.
  • Teba's reaction to learning that the Zora Princess is Link's daughter.

29 - The Unbridling of Medoh
  • Given this chapter features extensive dialogue from Revali, it's only natural that this chapter has a lot of comedy to go along with it.
  • Revali outright calls Link a showoff when he uses his strength to leap across a gap In a Single Bound.
  • The snarkiness shared between Link and Revali with regards to the interior structures and functions of Medoh.
    • They both comment on how Medoh rolls really slowly, which is especially jarring since Medoh was able to do a speedy aileron roll when combatting Link and Teba.
    • Link solves the piston puzzle in Medoh and channels his inner Ethan Winters...
Link: Seriously, who comes up with this?
      Revali: Don't ask me.
    • Revali even asks why the terminals could not have just been around the main control unit.
    • Revali forces himself to admit that Link is the better man, but he has to claim that luck is on Link's side to appease his self-centeredness.

30 - The Great Eagle Bow
  • Kaneli's claim that Master Revali must have liked Link, while it is true, is also funny because of how outwardly hostile Revali was to Link in life.
    • Which is made even better when Kaneli confirms that he knows this fact, saying that Revali's character left much to be desired.
    • And finally, Kaneli even gets in on the Everyone Can See It nature of Link and Zelda's relationship. Link doesn't even bother answering, he just blushes and looks at the floor, and Kaneli laughs at the realization.
  • Fyson leaves a letter for Link that says Rhondson and Hudson are getting ready for their wedding...and Fyson's opinion is that they're moving way too fast.
  • This chapter adapts a well-known moment that can occur with Paya in the canon game. If you speak with her while Link is wearing a top, she gets bashful and says Please Put Some Clothes On. She has the exact same reaction here.

     31 - Traumas of a Survivor
  • Sheik's absolutely unwavering stoicism in the face of Link's fury makes for some nice Black Comedy in the context of Paya's Training from Hell.
  • Purah makes a big show of upgrading the diminutive Guardians, and especially with Cerako's new weaponry...only to confess that she always had them, and Purah just repaired them.

     32 - Finding Goron Painkillers
  • Just the entire concept of Link having to go on such a trek just to get painkillers of all things. And he wasn't even the first! He has to help Yunobo!
  • Cerako's attempts to "shrug" with her robot arms.
  • Link accidentally makes a pun on Yunobo's name, because he asks for Yunobo, and asks "you know him?", and he realizes it.
  • Poor Yunobo's first encounter with Link. He thinks he's being ambushed by monsters and runs in circles until he realizes that Link is an ally.

33 - The Goron Chief of Old
  • Link nearly gets a broken back getting hit in the back by Bludo. He at least apologizes to Link.
    • It gives Bludo's sudden back spasm despite getting the painkillers he needed a hint of mild Laser-Guided Karma.
  • Bludo's wide-eyed reaction to Link claiming (partially truthfully) that he doesn't know Daruk.
  • "Daruk's Mettle"
    • Daruk calling Rudania a toy, and even better is Link's joke about that claim.
    • The Goron Champion consistently alters real-life idioms and changes them to fit his rock origins. It can make it difficult to understand his speech, and funny when you understand his puns.
    • Bludo's strike to the back is not the first time Link nearly got his back broken by a Goron. Daruk did the same thing, but while Bludo apologized and helped him back up, Daruk just laughed at Link's expense. Link's reaction is equally priceless.
    • While it's got a twinge of tearjerker to it, Daruk again tries to play matchmaker between Link and another princess.
  • Yunobo's horrified reaction when Link admits he wants to board Rudania.

34 - The Emancipation of Rudania
  • When Link compliments Cerako, she acts all shy and bashful about the compliment.
  • Link jumps in towards Rudania, leaving poor Yunobo alone at a loss for words at the crater.
  • By this point, since Link has already freed the other Divine Beasts, so Daruk doesn't even bother spelling out what Link needs to do.
  • Cerako acts like a dog in one clip where she begs Link to give her the torch by badgering him. She also guides him to a treasure chest that in the game is difficult to get to in the game. In fact, she ends up tilting Rudania on her own, which nearly makes Link fall off, and rushing off towards the treasure she knows is nearby.

     35 - The Boulder Breaker
  • Bludo pretends to be mad at Link for taking care of Rudania right as his back pain started to go away. It's so convincing that Link falls for it, until Bludo smiles, and Link gets mad at him in turn.
  • When Paya asks Link about the Divine Beasts, he asks her if she's asking about when they're all filled with monsters and Malice or when he got to speak with the Champions' spirits. Paya finds it funny and laughs and answers the latter.

36 - Rise of the New Champions
  • While all four Champions give a boast when they save their people, all except Revali express pride for their people. Revali? He boasts about his aim with the shot and laughs in pride. He really never wastes a moment to brag about himself, even when alone.
     37 - Hyrulean Resistance
  • A Yiga Blademaster smugly thinks that Impa was not going to be much of a fighter. He woefully learns otherwise. The best part is Impa's smugness in the situation, where she knows that she's got the upper hand. It's also awesome.
  • Terrako gets mad at Purah when she interrupts Terrako's fight. Even better that Terrako was about to fall victim to an attack, and Terrako is still annoyed at this.
  • Hestu and the Koroks fighting back is awesome, but the manner in which they fight back is...unique. Hestu is a Fighting Clown/Magical Clown, and the little Koroks fight by dropping rocks from the air.

     38 - Recovery
  • Symin doesn't bother knocking on the door to Link's home and just lets himself in.
  • Link is refusing to sleep to such a degree that they had to get a powder from the Koroks to force Link to get to sleep, and the entire group was in on it.
  • When Link finally awakens after being knocked out, he finds himself stripped down in the tub with his four grandchildren. It's implied that his four grandchildren took him in his sleep and brought him to the tub downstairs...which is a very weird thing for them to do.
  • Hestu gives a performance to the children of Hateno Village with a dance and maraca performance. Among the audience of children was the much bigger and older Yunobo.

     39 - Barriers
  • For a brief moment, Link forgets that Purah is not a child even though she looks like one, and Purah even calls him out on it.
  • Astor's Butt-Monkey/The Friend Nobody Likes status is made apparent when Kolana and Sooga swiftly beat him down for insulting their people. His excuses are equally pathetic.
  • As sad as it becomes, Purah's childish tantrum when Link reveals his intent to go for the Trial of the Wolf is funny especially given that it starts with a rapid fire Big "NO!".
  • The Koroks are still happy to see Link...but somehow are still skittish enough that some of them run from him. A very strange reaction.
  • Impa's revelation that she has used her sister's de-aging rune, which has been perfected to ensure that Impa would only age back to her adult body, she takes some pride in her youthful beauty, and does poses and hair flips.
  • While it's sweet when Link's grandchildren bring the Champions' weapons to the New Champions, it's also hilarious how they struggle to drag the oversized and heavy weapons up the hill.

40 - Trial of the Wolf
  • Link expresses no fear, but annoyance, at facing Golden enemies. He's so used to fighting at this point that the most powerful monsters around do little more than bother him slightly. If anything, his annoyance is because this means he'll have to fight a bit more than he'd like to.
    • He expresses equal annoyance facing a Black Hinox.
    • How does Link get the better of the above Hinox? By attacking its feet, which seems to work to hurt it and anger it.
  • It's also awesome, but one battle is against a Stone Talus, but Link has a Drillshaft. He kills the monster before it even has a chance to stand up. Link's comment on how easy it was leads right into...
  • The next floor having two Golden Lynels for him to fight on his own...in a snowy room where he has no clothes on. The price he paid for Tempting Fate.

     41 - A Corrupted Generation
  • Link gets to see Impa de-aged for the first time. His only response is to comment on how someone else decided to try out Purah's primitive rune.
    • Impa's retort is cute and funny itself, lampshading that unlike him, she had to take the long way.
  • When Sidon tells Lochlia not to let her guard down, Lochlia lets out a slightly annoyed response, even though they're in a fight against a Malice clone of Mipha.
  • Teba dishes out a Curb-Stomp Battle against Hollow Revali. It's awesome, but also a funny reference to Teba being a bit of a Game-Breaker in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

     42 - The Fourth Spirit
  • In a serious and dramatic moment, Purah entitles Paya as the Sheikah Oracle. Link immediately suspects, and is correct, when he asks Purah if she just made that up.
  • When Impa looks upon the Temple of Time's restored beauty thanks to Paya's powers, she says she can't remember the last time it looked so nice, as a figure of speech. Purah dryly claims she does: 100 years ago.

43 - Scales of an Ancient Era
  • When Purah destroys a Guardian Turret, she lets out a laugh that is described as being "with a childlike viciousness".
  • Purah lampshades on the hiding place of Farosh's Scale, in that it's high up on the wall and hidden behind stones. She questions how anyone was supposed to be able to get this thing.
  • For some reason, the library is connected to the docks with a secret passage blocked off by a metal bookshelf. This is a questionable architectural design carried over from the game, and is never explained.
  • Impa has a Smug Snake attitude when combatting the monsters inside of Hyrule Castle. It's funny seeing this originally well-poised and formal warrior show that she's Not So Above It All when it comes to fighting in combat, something she had already shown in prior chapters.
  • Purah, who at this point still looks like a child, addressing Impa as her baby sister is just a funny image by nature.

     44 - Pearls and Flames
  • Impa ends up being Wrong Genre Savvy with the shrines. She expects there to be a challenge within each one, but is told by Jitam Sa'mi that finding the scales of the dragons was the challenge.
  • Some of Impa's dialogue when battling the Guardians of War can get a chuckle. For example, the Warfare-Tested Skywatcher tries to repeat an attack that it used on her once already, and annoyed she immediately screams that it won't work again.
    • She indulges in quite a bit of battle dialogue that keeps the scene light-hearted enough to prevent it from being Nightmare Fuel as most battles against Guardians tend to be.

45 - The Kindness of the Frog
  • The Battle-Tested Guardian tries to point at the pedestal to let Impa know where she needs to be. When she doesn't, the Battle-Tested Guardian just picks her up with its foot and sets her down on the pedestal. It may be good in battle, but apparently has no patience.

     46 - Trial of the One-Hit Obliterator
  • During the Collected Soul Trial in Yowaka Ita Shrine, Link just happens to catch both glowing spheres in one go, which can be accomplished in the actual game with incredible luck. And he did this after trying multiple times to catch the orbs before.
  • Kass and Impa both make comments, separately, about how bad Link looks after being drained of life force.
  • In Rohta Chigah Shrine, Link lampshades that the shrine seems too easy...and right then, the Advancing Wall of Doom in the canon game appears behind him.
    • He also knew that Ruvo Korbah's trial wasn't going to be so simple. It's a combat trial, but he has the One-Hit Obliterator that makes the fight a cakewalk. He's once again right.
  • Impa mentions that she's friends with Kass, but also mentions that he hasn't seen her since she de-aged.
  • Link finally realizes the exact reason why the map's shrine icons are only partially blue when he activates them. The entire time he was activating them, he somehow never realized how they worked. For being so perceptive as a warrior, he's still quite oblivious.

47 - Songs of the Warriors
  • Link asks Impa if the residents of Kakariko Village would even recognize her de-age body. She's annoyed with him even asking.
  • "Champion Mipha's Song"
    • It's as heartwarming as it is funny seeing baby Sidon do his famous twinkle smile even as a little baby.
    • While Lochlia is entirely enjoying herself going up and down the waterfall with her mother, Sidon is whimpering in fear.
  • Just like in the game, Kass admits that he had to dress as a female Rito in order to get into Gerudo Town.
  • "Champion Urbosa's Song"
    • Urbosa's fight with the Yiga Clan has a little moment where she gets a big smug and taunts the Yiga with a laugh. It's equally awesome.
  • "Champion Daruk's Song"
    • Daruk claims to be fearless, and bravely charges right into battle against monsters. And then he promptly cowers in complete terror at the sight of a sweet dog. And then it gets better when he asks Zelda if Ganon is a dog monster of some kind, which she finds hilarious.

     48 - The Champions' Ballad
  • The Sheikah technology again warns Link of the environmental danger of the trial's activation, just like it did when the Sheikah Towers first activated.
  • "The Champions' Ballad"
    • The entire setup to Paya taking the picture of the Champions, with her literally demanding one person after another move to specific places. Especially with Revali's slight annoyance with Paya's demands of him.
    • You can't have this flashback without Daruk's famous photobombing, pulling everyone in a bear hug. The narration even mentions that Daruk looked around at everyone with a squint, clearly planning the photobomb.
    • Revali and Mipha were the ones directly hit with Daruk's hands. Their complete horror and shock at what he just did is entirely hilarious.

     49 - Calamity Ganon
  • Even after everything that's happened, Impa still has time to poke a little bit of fun at Paya blushing in Link's presence. Paya has grown so much since we first met her, but she still can't shake shake her tendency to be flustered in Link's presence.

     50 - The Silent Princess
  • Among the festivities in Zora's Domain include diving into the water around the domain. This includes the enormous King Dorephan who creates huge splashes in his wake that are higher than the domain's roof.
  • Revali mentions that Teba probably wouldn't have liked meeting him in life 100 years earlier.
