For a game that sure is rife with dread and completely randomized horrors, there are a few laughs to be had even in a game like this.
- During the tutorial, Raymond's explanations for the very obviously supernatural things happening with the windows suddenly shutting close and chemical bottles flying across the room can come off as rather funny.
- The Mimic in general can be considered both terrifying and hilarious. While it's clearly a creepy sight to behold, the way it disappears once you notice its presence comes off as rather silly and mean, as if it's saying "Haha, got you!".
- Encountering the Mimic in the cellar delusion is generally a terrifying moment due to how it blends in with the other creepy mannequins in there. Once you do spot it, however, it promptly dashes out the area in a way that you swear you can hear the cartoony running sound effect.
- The Halloween update decorates the bleak mortuary with cutesy Halloween decorations, which can take off some of the edge.
- The Christmas update straight up adds the corpse of Santa Claus for embalming, and gives the Mimic a cute little Santa hat while it scares the shit out of you.
