  • The Artist in Hell meets a colleague of his who ended up in heaven. The conversation is cordial, bringing up big ideas about beauty, art and popularity. However, it ends on a funny note where the angel tells his friend that they've all been forgotten on earth already. And the damned soul immediately returns to the bus to create more art to correct this, even though his art won't be able to be seen on earth as the artist is already dead!
  • The Episcopal Ghost believes that talk of "Heaven" and "Hell" are just metaphors and there's no real spiritual truths in the world. This is said to an immaterial soul, in Heaven, who offers to take him to go see God right now.
  • At one point, the narrator thinks he's becoming solid enough to walk on his own after strolling alongside his mentor. Then he looks down and sees that he's still an intangible ghost, putting his ego back down where it belongs.
