The Game Itself
- Some of the loading screen text:
- "I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee and got shackled."
- "My cousin's out fighting dragons, and what do I get? Loading tip duty."
- The fact that there are cards for things such as "Arrow in the knee" and The Adoring Fan. There's even a reference to the situation where you kill a chicken in Skyrim and the entire town wants your blood.
- Remember how in Skyrim, a direct hit from a giant would send you launching into the air? It appears to have happened to an unfortunate adventurer in the background of Belligerent Giant's art◊.
- In the battle "The Brawl" from "The Forgotten Hero", a major fight breaks out in the tavern and the heroes get swept up in it, and Laaneth tries to figure out what's going on...Laaneth: Why are they trying to kill us? Are they assassins? Dominion operatives?
Tyr: They're Nords. This is what we do for fun. - This thread, which points out the absurdity of Winter's Grasp vs Dres Renegade- a blizzard that freezes armies, stopped by "some guy with a lantern". The comments are also good for a laugh.
- Grisly Gourmet has a summon effect that turns a weaker creature into a Sweet Roll. Destroying the Sweet Roll even restores health to the creature that killed it.
- Keep in mind that the Sweet Roll itself is still a creature, and can be buffed by other cards. So yes, you can give it Dawnbreaker and use it to kill your opponent.
- When the Sparkypants client went live, some versions of the in-game store looked... interesting◊.This is definitely a known (and humorous) issue. That was just a placeholder, not Morgan deciding to become purchasable in the store!
- Turns out that creatures have a power/health cap of 2147483647.note This can be reached with the right combination of cards (for instance repeatedly bringing back creatures that double the health/power of another), but due to integer overflows, going past this number can have unexpected results.
- The Chinese censored versions of the art, which can be seen here and here.
- In particular, the Chinese version of "Waves of the Fallen"◊ has given a skeleton back its flesh, and it’s making a face similar to the "Surprised Pikachu" meme (which was going viral around the time the art was found, so naturally there were a few memes where people swapped out Pikachu in favor of the Chinese art.)
- The Golden Initiate's attack quote, "E'Tah Aureal," sounds a lot like "Eat a Oreo." That's plenty good on its own, but searching for "Oreo" in your card collection fittingly shows Golden Initiate.
Patch Notes
- 1.63: One of the bugs fixed was "The subtitles for the line spoken by Naarifin during the Chapter 20 battle no longer has an exclamation point on a line by itself." This was followed in the patch notes with a "!" on its own in the next line.
- 1.63.1: Players will no longer receive an error when attempting to view the credits. Alternatively, new feature: game credits!
- 1.64: Decks can no longer be named using emojis. :(
