  • Noé, who seems like a calm and polite gentleman is quickly distracted by the view from the airship and is enamored by what he sees.
    • This becomes one of his persisting character traits, much to the annoyance of Vanitas who has to backtrack and drag Noé away from whatever was distracting him in order to move on.
  • Dante's nickname for Vanitas is "quack", to which Vanitas retorts by calling him "baldy".
  • Dominique's first appearance. She walks into the room and flowers appear everywhere like in a typical shoujo panel. However, what's hilarious is that the flowers aren't a visual cue to show that Dominique is very beautiful, but she actually lugs around a machine that spews real flowers and petals whenever she enters a room.
    • She then puts a leash on Noé and drags him away. While this seems very strange, later on when they walk around Noé looks around excitedly, and Dominique explains that this way Noé can't run away from them.
  • Vanitas' hilarious Trollface when blackmailing Jeanne.
    • At the end of the chapter, Noé steps on Vanitas' foot.
  • Chapter 15: Some guards come across Vanitas and Noé lockpicking a door. Vanitas has a 'perfect timing' reaction and the guards are Mugged for Disguise.
  • Everyone's reactions to Vanitas kissing Jeanne, especially Lucas. He even tries to get Jeanne to let go of him so he can kill Vanitas.
  • Vanitas, Noé and the others are visiting the catacombs, but apparently, the one they were at got turned into a tourist attraction.
    • According to Riche, Dante is afraid of the dark and was likely being so rough to the catacombs so he could adjust to it.
  • As Vanitas and Noé try to break into a catacomb, some priests appears and Vanitas gives a smirk that just says, "Perfect!" The two priests are next seen knocked unconscious while Noé and Vanitas stole their clothes.
  • Vanitas lying to a priest and saying his name was Vincent while Noé was called Gilbert (even funnier when Noé does bear some physical similarities to Gilbert). To fans of Jun Mochizuki's previous work, this is surely going to get a giggle out of them.
    • Vanitas tells the priest, whose name is Roland, that they were looking underground of curiosity, got lost and now had no idea how to leave. Roland smiles cheerfully and says that he doesn't know how to get out either since he got lost down there too.
  • Vanitas and Noé fighting is hilarious. They also knock some priests out in unison while telling them to stay out of their business. At one point, Noé admonishes Vanitas for hitting a girl while Vanitas argues that it was for his survival.
    • This leads into them arguing over taking a hostage. Vanitas wants to use the girl, while Noé refuses to go along with it.
      • Noé ends up using Vanitas as a hostage, and Vanitas begins to fear for his life when he realizes that Noé wasn't acting.
  • Noé falling out of bed and cuddling a pillow. Vanitas warns Amelia that if she got near Noé, he would cuddle her.
  • Jeanne asks Vanitas out on a date as part of a ploy to try and make Vanitas not like her anymore, based on the fact Vanitas has stated that the only reason why he pursues her is because he believes she would never reciprocate. Unfortunately this was on the advice of Dominique who secretly has absolutely zero clue on how to handle relationships with men.
    • She fails spectacularly, ending up flustered by the fact that instead of spurring negative reactions from Vanitas like she hoped for, he's perfectly civil, and even nice during the date. At one point, the panels of the two of them are drawn in a very shoujo manga like manner just further emphasizing how practically perfect the date goes, when the original point of the date was to try to sabotage Jeanne's unwanted ties with Vanitas.
    • Dominique can be seen in the beginning following Jeanne and Vanitas, wearing a disguise.
  • Noé gets a whiff of Vanitas' blood, and realizes how delicious it smells. He wants to have a taste, but knows it would be rude to just go for it, so he tries to sweet-talk Vanitas in order to get a drink. Vanitas sounds perplexed after Noé explains that he was complimenting him.
  • As mentioned above, Vanitas gets his kicks from making Jeanne go crazy from embarrassment by invading her space and making statements about wanting to be her lover. However, when it's Jeanne giving him the Intimate Healing treatment and stripping to her underwear in front of him, Vanitas is the only one panicking.
  • Chapter 44 is full of these as Vanitas slowly realizes that he has actually started to feel genuine affection for Jeanne. Watching the usually haughty and unflappable Vanitas go through an epic freak out and blushing like crazy at something as simple as having real feelings for Jeanne is downright hilarious.
  • In a side chapter, after Noe got off of work at a cafe, he has gone missing due to his usual distractibility. In order to find him, Vanitas and Dante go through a map of Paris looking at the plazas, stares, and all sorts of other distractions Noe could have wandered off at the sight of in order to track him down. They do so successfully.
