  • In issue #6, Boomerang takes Peter to the Bar With No Name which happens to be hosting a "Spider-Man Trivia Night". The first question asked is "which of Galactus's heralds did Spider-Man defeat?". When the one of the villains participating gets the answer wrong, a mortified Peter steps in and correctly answers that it was Fire-Lord. What follows next is a montage of Peter smugly and correctly answering every question.
    • The final question is who hired Spider-Man to drive the Spider-Mobile. Peter at first seems to answer that it was Corona Motors which is flagged as incorrect. Then Peter states he wasn't done and answers that Corona Motors used the ad agency Carter & Lombardo, so technically Corona did hire Spider-Man. Peter then throws in a comment about how Spider-Man doesn't drive.
  • Issue #8 has the New York branch of the Thieves Guild stealing items from various heroes. This includes the entire costume collection of the Avengers (which Jarvis calls a "Code Blue Streak"), Tony Stark's entire Iron Man armory, Captain America's shield, Thor's newest hammer (causing him to bemoan how he keeps losing his hammer), Robbie Reyes' car, O5!Cyclops' visor, the Eye of Agamotto and the Punisher's entire armory.
  • Issue 10 has Spidey trying to find a way to signal the heroes to where he and the Black Cat are to get back their gear. He finds an item and snags it. Cut to a gathering of various heroes (and the Punisher) with Tony Stark explaining this super-special science and magical way to track down their gear... only for Kamala to tell them that her cell phone was one of the items stolen and the Marvel equivalent of the "Where's my iPhone?" app just went off. Tony facepalms and Reed Richards looking sheepish.
    • This gets even funnier months later over in Champions (2019) as Sam Alexander, one of the current Novas, is dragged to a Nova Corps base so he can get back his helmet. As it turns out, the helmet was already stolen by the Thieves Guild. And a one-off gag in issue #9 had Spidey wearing the helmet!
    • From the same issue, Spidey quietly cuts into the conversation between Black Cat and the Thieves' Guild because he's bothered by Odessa not pronouncing the hyphen in "Spider-Man".
Spider-Man: It's just like the tiniest pause in between the words...
  • Issue 11 has Spidey and Jonah arguing over Spidey's supposed friendship with the Kingpin. As they do, you can see Jonah looking behind Spidey as he yells to the world about how much of a creep the Kingpin is and he hates his guts, only to see there's a billboard behind him of the two together with Spidey proclaiming "I (heart) Fisk!".
    Spider-Man: ...that's Photoshop.
  • Issue 12 has Spidey and Jonah trapped in the 'Jonah Museum.' From one panel, it's implied that at one point Jonah blamed Spidey for several villains' activities; the Goblin, Dr. Doom and Galactus. Why? The holograms show said villains but with Spidey's head replacing theirs.
Jonah: Okay, I'll admit I may have overstated some things.
    • Earlier, we have this exchange as Spider-Man and Jonah are fleeing from the villains.
Jonah: How do you keep getting me in these messes?!
Spider-Man: Me?! Did you not hear that mystery voice? It distinctly said, "J. Jonah Jameson, this is your story!"
    • Kingpin and Wesley are waiting for Jonah and Spider-Man to show up at an awards ceremony in the latter two's honors, unaware that they have been abducted by supervillains. Wesley asks if they can at least start serving the guests food. Kingpin agrees but insists they only serve them from the salad bar.
Kingpin: When Kingpin goes vegan, the whole city goes vegan.
  • Even though issue #13 is much more drama-heavy, Spidey still gets in a morbidly-funny line when Frederick Foswell Jr. tries to get Jameson to shoot him.
  • Issue #16 has a montage of Taskmaster and Black Ant capturing more Animal Themed Superbeings, with one panel of Black Ant seizing the Owl in a choke hold while Taskmaster munches on some chips behind him.
  • Issue #19 (HU):
    • As a result of the Bar With No Name being destroyed back in issue #7 and Manhattan commercial rents being extremely expensive, the villains have now set up a beer tent in Queens Night Market called "the Pop-up With No Name" as their new hangout spot.
Curt Connors: Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen.
    • Taskmaster is singing karaoke when a couple interrupt him to ask where the Artisanal Cheese Tent is. He is not pleased.
Taskmaster: Artisanal—?! Get outta here! Can't you see when a guy is singing his pain away?!
  • Issue #23
    • We have this exchange as Taskmaster rescues Black Ant after betraying him.
Black Ant: Tasky! You came back for me! After betraying me!
Taskmaster: Had to, little buddy! I know you woulda done the same for me!
Black Ant: Wait—do you mean the betrayal part or the rescue part?
    Taskmaster: Yeah!
    • The following exchange happens once the wealthy patrons are forced out of their simulation.
Patron 1: Is that it? I want a refund!
    Patron 2: A refund!? Bob's dead!
Patron 1: Then he should get a refund too!
  • The story "Team Up" in issue #25 is full of them, mostly courtesy of J. Jonah Jameson. To wit, JJJ "picks the lock" to get into Peter's apartment by crowbarring the door open, drags Peter into a magic-laden adventure on what amounts to a noise complaint, and then there's this:
Jameson: You're not very good at this team-up thing, are you?
Spider-Man: THIS WAS NOT A TEAM-UP! TEAM-UPS ARE AGREED UPON BEFOREHAND AND HAPPEN ORGANICALLY! THERE'S A PROTOCOL!
  • Issue #27:
    • Boomerang's interactions with the Syndicate, a team of female supervillains who all want him dead, are quite hilarious.
      • When the Syndicate attack the FEAST homeless shelter, Boomerang is actually happy to see Beetle despite having betrayed her in the past. Then he assumes they are here because they want to rob the shelter and tries to dissuade them from doing so. Beetle accuses him of trying to "mansplain heists" to her and reveals that he's their target.
      • Lady Octopus says they dropped the "Sinister" adjective from Sinister Syndicate to sound more professional. To which Boomerang replies, "What kind of professionals don't like alliteration?".
      • Boomerang understands why Beetle and Electro want him dead, having betrayed them in the past, but doesn't understand why the other four want to kill him as well. We then get brief flashbacks of him hitting on White Rabbit, Scorpia and Lady Octopus. Trapster, the only one who has never even met Boomerang before this, admits that she's only joining in because she loves violence.
Boomerang: You know, I actually get that.
    • Spider-Man comes to Boomerang's rescue. This leads to Boomerang declaring that "Spider-Man and Boomerang are finally teaming up", much to the Wall-Crawler's exasperation.
  • Issue #28: Peter is surprised to find out Randy is dating the Beetle, who talks about trying to blow up Boomerang, much to Randy's annoyance.
Beetle: Come on, you're always complaining about your roommate!
    Randy: That's the other roommate!
    Peter: Wait, what?
  • Issue #37: Spidey finally gets the chance to ask various heroes about a new device that could possibly predict the future. The first hero he goes to? Iron Man, who asks "What did Carol say?" Captain Marvel's response? "What did Tony say?"
    • Some of the other reactions he gets are funny too: Black Cat asks where he's keeping the device, obviously with designs on stealing it; Daredevil cynically tells Peter to ask his "friend" Wilson Fisk; She-Hulk asks if Spider-Man is asking her as his lawyer; and Human Torch is excited at the idea of using the device to play pranks.
  • Issue #38: Norah Winters shows Jameson her own news organization, Threats and Menaces, where she pays college graduates table scraps for their work. Jameson is about to verbally condemn such a practice when he flashes back to how he would pay Peter ludicrously small amounts of money for pictures of Spider-Man and then promptly shuts up.
  • Issue #40:
    • The cover shows this exchange between Spider-Man and Jameson while the former is fighting Chance.
Jameson: Where does Chance rate against, say, Doc Ock?
    Spider-Man: Jonah... Shut up!
    • Spider-Man and Chance are about to square off when they get interrupted.
Jameson: Excuse me, we were in the middle of a recording?
    Chance: "Excuse me"?
Jameson: I said we're recording. A podcast. Look it up, grandpa!
Radio tech: Yeah, it's a lot of background audio—
Chance points a gun at the tech guy.
Radio tech: —But I can edit it out.
    • The above moment also has Chance trying to shoot Jameson, who is saved by Spider-Man. As the fight between hero and villain begins, we get this:
Chance: I should've known that would get you, Web-Slinger. We all know the best way to anger you is to go after someone you love.
    Spider-Man: Wait—Jonah?
    Chance: Well... like, then.
    Spider-Man: Ehhh...
    Chance: Begrudging respect? Professional courtesy?
Spider-Man: Man, Chance—You really should do your research better.
    • Peter returns home to find Randy quivering in fear that "the most evil, most terrifying woman" is in Peter's room. Peter opens the door to his room to see Norah Winters holding his Spider-Man mask.
Norah: Hiya, Petey. You and MJ doing a little roleplay? I like it.
  • Issue #41:
    • The cover has Boomerang trying to come up with a name for their team-up story, much to Spider-Man's annoyance. Spider-Man even yells at the cover itself for titling the story "True Companions".
    • When one of the researchers Kingpin hired to decode the map to the Lifeline Tablet fails him, Kingpin has the man arrested for unpaid parking tickets rather than just kill him like he usually would.
  • Issue #42:
    • Boomerang is incredulous to learn that Gog was on the Sinister Six before him.
    • Spider-Man "accidentally" webbing Kingpin's mouth shut as the corrupt mayor is shouting orders to shoot Gog.
    • Spider-Man tries explaining to the Kingpin that the rampaging Gog isn't dangerous, just confused. Then Gog strikes Spider-Man, sending him into a wall.
  • Issue #51 (LR): A pissed off Dr. Strange shows up at the Black Cat's apartment to take back the Hand of Vishanti, which she has stolen to help Spider-Man.
Black Cat: Don't I need to invite you in?
Dr. Strange: I'm not a vampire, Ms. Hardy.
Black Cat: Then why do you dress like that.
  • Issue #52 (LR): Madame Web comes up with an idea to track Spider-Man through the astral plane using his connection to herself, Gwen, Miles, Anya and Cindy through the Web of Life. Web also reveals that she foresaw Dr. Strange coming up with the same idea in a few minutes and just told them the plan to save time.
Dr. Strange: You know, I deal with clairvoyants and prophecy all the time, and I still find your methods infuriating.
Anya: Trust me, you're not the only one, Snape.
  • Issue #61: Fisk tells his council of crime lords that he wants Boomerang found. The response from all involved is, "I hate that guy".
    • The above line is repeated in Giant-Size Amazing Spider-Man when Peter calls in some other heroes to help him protect Boomerang from Kingpin.
  • Issue #61: Boomerang's melodramatic reaction to Kingpin targeting his alien pet Gog to mess with him.
Boomerang: Fisk might be mayor, but he's still just a criminal with a supercool ascot. And criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot, no mater how well-dressed they are. So I will become what he fears the most. Yes, father, I will become... a Boomerang.
    Spider-Man: Oboy.
  • Issue #63:
    • Randy and Janice's respective fathers discover their relationship. While Robbie and Randy's confrontation is depicted seriously, Tombstone's reaction to his daughter dating his old nemesis's son is played for humor.
Janice: Siri, play "Papa Don't Preach".
    • Janice tells the story of how she and Randy met. She snuck into his apartment to kill his roommate Boomerang and found Randy taking a late-night drink. After a brief exchange of "hey", they started making out.
  • Issue #64:
    • When Robbie asks what their kidnappers are going to do when Spider-Man shows up, Janice scolds him for embarrassing her in front of the kidnappers.
    • Madame Masque calling Janice the most infuriating hostage she has ever taken.
  • Issue #65:
This is for not accepting my Linkedin requests!
    • Robbie's reaction only adds to the hilarity.
I'm starting to get what you see in her.
    • Robbie and Tombstone's obvious disgust at seeing Randy and Janice making out.
Robbie: Odd. I thought I'd be happy to still be alive.
Tombstone: Lemme know when it's safe to turn around.
  • Giant-Size Spider-Man:
    • When the various mob bosses and their men show up at Boomerang's location they are prepared to fight, until Mr. Negative points out that Kingpin wants them to take each other out in order to get the reward he is offering and proposes they work together instead. The funny part comes from the fact they actually bring their lawyers to make the deal official.
    Spider-Man: Talk about criminals.
    Shocker: Employees? We were partners!
Boomerang: We've been over this! Just because you have equity, doesn't mean you're a partner, Herman!
