Funny / The Alamo (2004)

• Crockett and Houston's first meeting. Sam is trying to convince Crockett to join the Texian militia along with his men, partly for publicity and partly because of Crockett's prior military experience. His enticement is choice land in Texas. Crockett thinks it's something else.
  Crockett: What you peddlin' Sam?
  Houston: Something a certain Congressman will need before long.
  Crockett: Are you selling rocking chairs?
• A few during the Battle of San Jacinto:
  • First, seeing one Texian dive over the makeshift wall the Mexicans have made and tackling one soldier to the ground.
  • More darkly humorous given the situation, but another moment is when General Castrillon folds his arms in dignity... only to get hit across the face with a musket butt.
• Crockett seems to relish any chance to troll Santa Anna. Beginning with shooting off his epaulet at extreme range, while the General is ordering his men to bring the artillery closer. His excuse why it wasn't a head shot?
  "Wind kicked up."
• The Dramatic Irony of Crockett during the final stage of the siege turning around after succesfully defending the weakest part of the fort for the entire battle and realizing that in the meanwhile, the Mexicans have overrun the rest of the Alamo without him noticing.
