• The duo debate having Abby join them hunting a guy.
  Sheila: We have made a lot of mistakes as parents but we have yet to bring our daughter to a murder. I think we should hold to that.
• Season 2 opens with Sheila slaughtering a creep in the kitchen with Joel coming home to find the entire room scattered with blood. They're naturally all yelling when the doorbell rings.
  Joel: I vote we don't answer that.
• Joel and Sheila having an in-depth debate about the morality of murdering a physically disabled Nazi. Finally the guy snaps at them that he wants to be treated like everyone else, and Sheila visibly has the weight lifted off and does it.
• In the final scene of Season 2, Joel and Sheila barely need to put in any effort to convince Anne that Sheila is some kind of warrior for God, to which Gary comments "This just got fucking weird."
• After the show apparently couldn’t get Nathan Fillion back for Season 3, it goes to hilarious lengths to justify Alan Tudyk as our new Gary: he ends up badly decomposed under heavy makeup because Joel and Sheila each assumed the other had given him the stabilizing serum, and the new voice is because part of his throat fell out.
