  • After Paulie's ranting to Rocky, and Rocky giving him a "Reason You Suck" Speech, Paulie tries to assault Rocky, only to give up and ask:
Paulie: ...Can I have a job?
Rocky: *guard drops* ...Yo, all you had to do was ask!
  • Mickey thinks Rocky is nuts for taking a match with Pro Wrestler Thunderlips for charity:
    Mickey: Let's get outta here.
Rocky: Aw, c'mon Mick, it's for charity.
Mickey: You're wearin' your anatomy out for charity. Nobody else does this much for charity.
    Rocky: Bob Hope would.
    Mickey: [beat] That's true.
    • When Thunderlips enters:
Paulie: Rocky, you better call Bob Hope.
  • Rocky watches the towering Thunderlips' bombastic entrance and has a shocking revelation:
Paulie: "Why are they carrying him?"
    Mickey: "He's walking!"
  • At the beginning of the charity match, Rocky asks Thunderlips for an after match Polaroid. Lips simply shoved and snarled at him. When the match finally concludes in a draw, Thunderlips is hilariously much more calmer.
    Thunderlips: Hey! ...Good match.
Rocky: Yo, why were you so rough out there?
Thunderlips: (Much more calmed down) That's the name of the game.
Rocky: ...Well while you're calm, mind that Polaroid I asked for?
    Thunderlips: Yeah sure!
Rocky: You know, sometimes, charity hurts.
    *both men chuckle*
  • Mickey gets a load of memorable lines during Rocky's exhibition with Thunderlips, but perhaps the best is one where Rocky, stunned at the size of Thunderlips, asks what a guy eats to get that big. Mickey immediately quips "About 202 pounds." Right afterwards, the announcer mentions that Rocky weighed in at 202 pounds for the bout. Something about the way Mickey starts smiling at his own wit just seals it.
  • In that same match, when Thunderlips picks Rocky up to throw him out of the ring:
    Rocky: Adrian!
    Adrian: Rocky!
    Rocky: Catch meeee!
    • Then Rocky returns the favour despite Thunderlips being almost twice as heavy at 395lbs (Hulk Hogan was only 302 at his heaviest).
  • Mickey is so done with the circus atmosphere of Rocky's training sessions. He calls the gym "a house of ill repute", and even spews invective at the band playing Rocky's theme:
"SHUT UP BACK THERE!! Change yer tune, willya?"
    • After one of Rocky's fangirls asks for a kiss and he obliges, Mickey berates him saying "Clubber's not gonna kiss ya, he's gonna kill ya!", Rocky responds by jokingly kissing him in the cheek, and Mickey tells him to "get outta here!"
    • Not to mention the Death Glare that comes over Adrian's face when she witnesses the fangirl smooch!
  • Rocky pulling Paulie in the pool during training.
  • An interviewer asks Clubber Lang what he thinks of Apollo Creed being Rocky's trainer. Lang asks, "Apollo who?"
  • Half way in the movie, Paulie and Apollo were at odds, particularly about how Paulie doesn't respect Apollo's home town. Near the end, they develop a mutual respect, to the point where Apollo kisses Paulie on the cheek during the match.
  • Rocky stoops to (literally) dirty tactics to compel Mick into training him for one last fight:
Rocky: "If ya don't, I'll tell everybody you haven't bought new underwear in ten years."
Mick: "You'd do that, wouldn't ya?"
  • During his (re)training of Rocky, an exasperated Apollo, desperately trying to mind a means whereby he can instill speed and rhythm into his former nemesis, turns to Paulie and asks, "Can he swim?"
Paulie: With a name like 'Rock'?
  • When Apollo tells Rocky to keep it cool when Lang started insulting him, Lang insults Apollo, where he then turns his back, prompting Lang to tackle him, nearly starting a fight between them. Also counts as a Moment of Awesome as the usually casual and collected Apollo loses his cool on Lang to the point where Rocky has to restrain him.
Rocky: I thought yous said to keep your cool?
    • Adding to this hilarity, when the struggle is going on, the official can be heard violently ringing the bell to try and quell the fighting.
    • "Do us all a favor and drop this chump, alright?"
  • Mr. T's iconic ham-tastic voice makes most of his lines pretty funny, even as a menacing villain.
    "Hey, Woman. Hey, Woman!"
    "Shut up, old man!"
  • After the hellacious donnybrook Rocky suffered at the hands of Thunderlips, Adrian is still (quite reasonably) leery of being near the wrestler, let alone meeting him. That wary look she still has (captured by the photo they all take together) perfectly encapsulates it.
  • The novelization has a scene of Rocky and Apollo surprising reporters at a press conference with their new partnership. Apollo does a classic speech on how he intends to "modernize" Rocky and "the last time, Lang, you fought a man who wasn't all there!" Rocky thinks to himself "this time, he'll be fighting a guy whose manager isn't all there..."
  • Real Life: Mr. T took his mother to the premiere. According to him, when Clubber hit on Adrian to make Rocky angry, she said "I taught you never to talk to a woman that way!" and walked out.
