Funny / Ripper Street

• From Season 2's first episode, "Pure as the Driven", there are quite a few funny moments during the opening brawl:
  • Jackson emerging from his autopsy room (judging by the look of him, in the middle of one) to complain about the noise;
  Jackson: Reid! Again?! How's a man supposed to work amidst such an uproar?!
  Reid: (Easily taking down a criminal) INNER PEACE, CAPTAIN!
  • And then a few seconds later, when Jackson takes the time to light up a cigarette and enjoy the show as two cons overpower Drake:
  Drake: Are you just gonna stand there, are you?!
  • Finally, when all's said and done, Sergeant Artherton's suggestion of how to prevent a re-occurrence is a good one:
  Artherton: We must have more men. That or a Gatling gun; I know not which costs less!
• From Season 3: Reid and Drake walk into a theatre to persuade Jackson, who is already on the booze, to rejoin them. A woman tells them they're too early for a matinee performance. Reid drops this zinger:
  Reid: The clown we seek cavorts everywhere but the stage.
• From the same episode, Reid's "apology" to Jackson.
  Reid: You are not... a piss-streaked... with a (mumble) of a scorched turd. You... you are a doctor.
  (Beat)
  Jackson: I figure that's as good as it was gonna get.
