Funny / Raven of the Inner Palace

• In the first episode of the anime, Shouxue gets frustrated with Gaojun's attempts to get her to grant his request and sends him and his bodyguard out of her palace with her magic. It's a dramatic scene, right up until the end when she pops the door open and throws out the jade earring that Gaojun had brought, telling him that he had forgotten it. The sudden Mood Whiplash is hilarious.
• Shouxue sneaks out of her palace to do something. Xingxing, her chicken, follows her out, squawking its head off. Shouxue, not wanting to be followed and frustrated with the animal's antics, grabs it by the beak and says, "If you don't cut out this racket, I will roast you whole!" Shouxue's scary face and the Blank White Eyes Xingxing sports (the only time they're seen in the entire anime), as well as the fact that she's threatening a chicken, combine into a perfectly seasoned dish of hilarity.
• The usually calm, composed Shouxue can be easily flustered if you know what buttons to press. Gaojun has learned these buttons well and uses them to get her to break her shell, as well as amuse himself and the audience.
