Pizza Tower takes heavy inspiration from 90s-early 2000s cartoons, and with an art style this deranged, you can really expect a HUGE dosage of humor.

    open/close all folders

    Peppino
  • Peppino's faces. Sometimes he makes a relatively normal look, mainly his annoyed expressions, but the rest of the time, it seems like he's about to either burst into tears or just run towards the nearest living thing and kill it. The devs really pushed the envelope on how much he emotes.
  • If you use the left save file, the TV there will display Peppino with a look of furthered dejection, hinting at his near-constant attitude towards his adventure.
  • Special mention goes to the faces Peppino makes on the TV screen in the upper right corner.
    • Starting out he looks as nervous and anxious as usual, but build up momentum and he suddenly turns into a psycho.
    • Sometimes the TV shows other stuff depending on Peppino's transformations:
      • Knight Peppino depicts him as a proper Knight in Shining Armor, muscular with a badass looking sword, which contrasts with the real Peppino's ill-fitting armor and dinky little knife.
      • Ball Peppino shows him in the middle of being kicked like a soccer ball.
      • When lining up a shot with Greaseball, it shows a realistic looking Peppino in golf attire wielding a putter. Compared to the other, more absurd images, it's hilarious in its mundanity.
      • When Mort is equipped it shows the box art from his source game with Peppino looking dejected on the corner like the chicken is a Spotlight-Stealing Squad.
      • Cheeseball Peppino shows him dejectedly sitting on top of a sandwich while a giant ball of cheese flies at him.
      • When Peppino gets the shotgun it shows him all muscular, posing like an 80's action hero.
  • When going down into a pizza box, Peppino will hold his nose and raise his hand, as if he was scuba diving.
  • When going up into a pizza box, however, Peppino spontaneously gets sucked in feet-first, and it's not clear whether he's silently panicking or if that's a manic smile on his face.
  • One of Peppino's forward throw animations has his teeth grow to exaggerated proportions as he bites the enemy, which somehow propels them with the same force as a punch, kick, or headbutt.
  • Every lasting transformation Peppino undergoes requires an exorcism to be removed. It ranges from reasonable (a magic suit of armor), to weird (being covered in a massive amount of cheese). Just what needs religious intervention to get out of gets even more absurd:
    • Having a chicken on his head counts as a transformation, and a Priest can bless Mort off of Peppino's head.
    • One of the transformations is a pizza box. As in, Peppino gets stuffed into a pizza box, his eyes and nose stick out of it, and the two sides of the box become a pair of wings. And it's undone by finding a priest just like the other transformations. Imagine getting so tightly packed into a cardboard box that you need an exorcism to get out.
    • One of the transformations is Firemouth Peppino. As in he gets hit by one of Kentucky Kenny's buffalo wings and it's so spicy his mouth catches fire. Ever eat something so spicy that it's like hellfire on your tongue and you need an exorcism to cool off?
  • In the levels where you play as Gustavo, switching from Peppino to Gustavo and Brick shows a colorful "The Gustavo and Brick (the Rat) Hour" title card. When going back to playing as Peppino however, the screen shows an image of Peppino as a stilt-legged Waddling Head with an awkward expression on his face accompanied by the disdainful text "back to that guy." It's especially funny since you never switch back to Peppino until after Pizza Time starts, so the sequence comes out of absolutely nowhere in the otherwise stressful and intense escape sequence.
  • Taunting in general. At any point during gameplay, a single button press can make Peppino abruptly stop what he's doing and strike a nonsensical pose, before immediately carrying on like nothing happened. Some of the poses Peppino makes are quite funny, as well.
    • A specific interaction in the Pig City that's easily missed demonstrates exactly why taunts are so funny. Imagine this: You've just triggered Pizza Time, and are making a mad dash towards the exit. As you rush past a panicked citizen, Peppino suddenly taunts, and the citizen stops panicking just long enough to snap a quick photo of Peppino before continuing to scream in horror. Mood Whiplash so fast it could break someone's neck.
    • Part of what makes taunting so useful, however, is the fact that it temporarily pauses Peppino's momentum for its duration, and he continues at full speed once it ends. This specific mechanic means that this seemingly useless feature actually becomes an integral part of high level gameplay. Yes, the button to strike funny poses is a valuable part of the kit.

    Gustavo and Brick
  • Getting hurt as Peppino shows him on the TV wincing in pain, while getting hurt as Gustavo shows him pushed to the edge of the screen by Brick flailing around in a panic.
  • Collecting a giant topping has Gustavo laugh in triumph. You probably won't hear that because Brick is busy yodeling.
  • Gustavo will appear during Pizza Time to guide Peppino out of the levels, but sometimes it'll be clear that he's been having his own adventures while you weren't looking:
    • In "Fast Food Saloon", he can be seen as a silhouette in one of the backgrounds, sitting at the bar with Brick. During the escape sequence, he has rosy cheeks and will hiccup sometimes, implying he's drunk.
    • In "Deep-Dish 9", Gustavo looks normal, but instead of simply dropping in from above, he rides a rocket that (harmlessly) blows up on landing to reveal him.
    • In "Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator", he seems to have set up at least one temporary house in the freezer. Pizza Time in that level has him dropping from the sky frozen in terror. Literally.
    • In "Pizzascare", he has apparently fused with Brick, presumably due to one of the many Pizzards there. While this would be creepy, it looks more like Brick is wearing Gustavo's clothes and became anthropomorphic enough to stand and gesture like a human, defanging any Body Horror that might have come from the fusion.
    • "Don't Make a Sound" has him appear as an animatronic dangling from the ceiling, not unlike what happens to Peppino when he gets caught by a Toppin Monster.
    • Gustavo doesn't point the way in "WAR", since the entire level is an escape sequence with a relatively straight path that won't confuse the player. However, Gustavo still appears at a few points of the level, dressed in a full army uniform and firing Brick out of a rocket launcher as a heat-seeking missile to defeat some enemies for Peppino.
  • Brick and Gustavo in hubs. In world 1, Brick is chasing Gustavo around. In world 2, you might notice random objects falling from above. That's from Brick and Gustavo in a Big Ball of Violence. In world three, they're all bandaged up shooting you a big ol' thumbs up showing they're friends now. In world 4, they're at a table playing poker. In world 5, they're clearly terrified out of their wits, but whenever Peppino is facing them they try and act totally cool. As soon as he looks away, they're right back to being scared.
  • In general, Brick acts like a human whenever it would be more amusing than the alternative.
    • Whenever Gustavo dismounts him to attack, crawl through gaps, or climb on rails, he'll sit behind and read a newspaper (about cheese) until it's time to come back.
    • When riding a taxi while playing as Gustavo, Brick somehow becomes the driver, hat and cigarette and all.

    Hubs
  • The lobby has portraits of Pizzaface. As in, Pizzaface on a human body. There's another of him with a wife, also a pizza face on a humanoid body.
  • The big-lipped Granny Pizzas give out some useful hints, but occasionally they'll spout out completely random things, from threats to complete nonsense.
    • One of them tells you what Peppino's full name is (Peppino Spaghetti), then bluntly states, "That's unfortunate."
    • Another randomly says that they forgot their meds again and that today's going to suck.
    • One near the end of the game simply tells you to "Kiss my ass!"
    • Special mention goes to one on the second floor who goes on an entire screen-filling nonsensical rant about customers, Pizzaface, and a man from Peppino's past life. The last one becomes a good Brick Joke when the true villain is revealed to be Pizzahead, who fits the bill nicely due to being his rival in the Fictional Video Game Pizza Boy Tower.
  • When entering a new floor, Peppino is slowly lifted up by an enlarged dumbwaiter.
    • The Noise update doesn't even have the dumbwaiter. It's just The Noise being slowly lifted up to the next floor by a rope tied around his waist.
  • After beating Pepperman and The Noise, you'll find them hanging out in the world 2 and 4 hubs respectively. And judging by the looks on their beat up faces, they're clearly still sore about Peppino serving them their asses in 30 minutes or less. Pepperman graffitied a monstrous Peppino fighting a heroic version of himself while The Noise, still grinning with missing teeth, is constantly shooting Peppino the stink eye as he smokes a cigarette. Talk about sore losers.
    • Try and find the Noisette Cafe in the Slum and you'll see Vigilante there trying to relax with a cup of coffee. Only every time you go near him, Noisette will put on her most darling smile begging for tips while Vigilante angrily sips his cup of Joe.
  • The Chef Tasks, simple as they are, have some funny images in their lineup.
    • Getting the Spherical and Turbo Tunnel achievements awards you with Peppino as a ball and olive respectively. It makes sense in the context of what you have to do to get it, but the bluntness of it all makes it so bizarre.
    • The Very Very Hot Sauce achievement gives you an image of The Noise, at his most vulnerable, getting a tasty slice of Pizza all while Peppino on the right holds a bottle of hot sauce with a shit-eating grin. It goes to show that Peppino can be equally as antagonistic to The Noise as The Noise is to him.
    • Getting the Non-Alcoholic achievement has Peppino threatening to hurt what seems to be Pineacool with a beer bottle for an unknown reason. Considering they taunt back when you taunt them in the levels they reside in, it's not unreasonable to assume that Peppino straight-up hates these things.
    • Getting the Already Pressed achievement has the Buttons in Fastfood Saloon be paid what seems to be a bill, all while they look flustered. They're pressed for money.
    • Getting the Blowback achievement shows Peppino bending a cannon towards the Pizza Goblin wielding it with a single finger.
    • Getting the Primo Golfer achievement shows Peppino apparently be rewarded with burgers for all of the Primo Burgs he got during golfing, implying that either that's the prize for getting the best score or, more absurdly yet, that in order to have a meal there, you have to get the best score in the game. Either way, it's not likely that poor Peppino will be able to finish all that…
    • Getting the Say Oink achievement has Peppino being forced to take pictures with a Pig Citizen. He barely even tries to fake a smile.

    Levels
  • When the player reaches Mach 3 or higher, most of the enemies will notice Peppino rushing straight towards them with a rather amusing horrified look on their faces.
    • You can also sometimes hear them yell in panic as they see Peppino charging towards them.
    • The Pepperoni Goblin sticks his hands out in front of him, as if that'll help.
    • The Swedish Monkey's eyes shoot out of their sockets.
    • A scared Pizzard will futilely hold up a Spell Book like a shield.
    • The scared faces of the Pepperoni Bats in Pizzascare look like a caricature of Bela Lugosi, the actor who famously played Dracula in the classic 1931 film.
  • The title cards look like the title cards for cartoon episodes so they are this sometimes.
    • Fun Farm's card proudly announces "Guest Starring Mort the Chicken!", with the chicken pecking on the hat of a very irritated Peppino. Mort the Chicken is a very obscure and even disliked game, which leads to the bafflement of many people at how it of all things got such a lovingly-crafted cameo here.
    • "Golf", despite having such a banal title focusing on a mostly unexciting subject, looks like an action movie poster. Peppino himself is depicted as a buffed-out action hero, in the vein of Duke Nukem or Serious Sam, grimacing menacingly with a shotgun in one hand and… a putter in the other. The Mood Whiplash within just this one picture is outrageous.
      This summer, prepare to GOLF
    • "Gnome Forest" has a title card depicting Gustavo and Peppino as gnomes that wouldn't look too out of place in The Legend of Zelda CD-i Games. Meanwhile, Brick is sitting between the two chefs, and is wearing a party hat and blowing on a streamer. It's as if the rat has no idea what a gnome is and assumes Peppino and Gustavo are celebrating a birthday or something, because of the pointy hats.
    • "Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator" shows Peppino and a cheeseslime in winter gear waiting at a bus stop while Pizzaface throws a giant snowball from a mitten sticking out of him. And he has a teeny tiny winter outfit dangling under him.
    • "Oregano Desert" has Peppino running from a UFO that's sucking up a Cheeseslime covered in cacti and a Kentucky Kenny on the toilet. Did we mention it's a cow driving the saucer?
    • "The Pig City" shows off a shady, back-alley deal between a pig and a pizza slice. What makes this funny, however, is that the deal is being interrupted by The Noise, whose wide-open smile and friendly wave stands at odds with the gritty atmosphere of the rest of the card. The dealers themselves seem fed up with the Noise's presence and are seen drawing pistols.
    • A bit of Mood Whiplash for "Don't Make A Sound", a level that's a sendup for Five Nights at Freddy's. Other than the blood red title stuffed in a black corner, the rest of the picture is a colorful picture of Peppino frolicking with the animatronics.
    • "War" shows an absurdly detailed and gritty face of Peppino as he is screaming in a warzone, all while a Peppino Clone approaches him with a smug expression. Up to this point, all of the level title cards keep the same goofy artstyle of the game (even with "Don't Make a Sound", a level that delves into genuine Survival Horror themes), while this level out of nowhere is acknowledging that War Is Hell, which is true. But it leads to massive tonal Mood Whiplash, looping it back to being funny.
    • All of the Noise's title cards are the normal ones but with his "woag's" in place of the "do's" Noise's head hastily slapped over all the characters' faces (including his own!). This comes to a head in the Crumbling Tower of Pizza's title card; due to just how many characters there are on the screen, the screen gets bombarded with Noise heads.
  • When falling into a bottomless pit, the screen cuts to a technical difficulties screen with the characters in humourous positions.
    • As Peppino, they range from him with an ice cream that has fallen out while looking at the screen with an unamused face, being covered in bandages with a present from his mum and laying on his side on a plate of spaghetti that looks like his intestines are spilling out.
    • As Gustavo and Brick, the only pose is a squished Gustavo wrapping Brick in bandages.
    • As The Noise, he is shown landing on his face and broken his skateboard, a copy of him looking over his corpse and one where he angrily lunges at the camera as if he's attacking the player for messing up.
  • Pencers are orange peppers that flail their rapiers at you while making a thumb-and-pinky gesture with their offhand. At a glance, their resemblance to a helmeted Wander makes them much goofier.
  • Serveral enemies' defeat sprites are worth a chuckle:
    • Pencer holding a flower over his heart, melodramatically playing dead.
    • Both Pizza Box Goblin and Cannon Pizza Goblin gain red eyes, evidently screaming at their own defeat.
    • Kentucky Kenny has his chicken wing stuffed inside of his mouth, almost literally getting a taste of his own medicine.
    • Bandito Chicken is sitting on a plate, ready to be eaten.
    • Potato Farmer is flipped upside down with a frowning expression.
    • Eggplantmobile is heavily beaten up.
    • Peasanto is screaming at his own defeat.
    • Spit Cheese becomes deflated like a balloon.
    • Fake Santa gains red eyes with him screaming.
    • Shrimp Thug becomes an actual, ready-to-eat shrimp.
    • Patroller's siren becomes broken with it gaining a shocked expression.
    • Flying Patroller is visibly broken, a pair of eyes and lips coming out of its jaws on springs.
    • Cardboard Tank's barrel becomes distorted.
  • The fact that they made a Rocking Horse incredibly detestable. He can float anywhere he pleases and can pass through walls, his offscreen icon shows him with a smug grin even when you're ahead of him, he sports an angry scowl if you win, and the prize both of you are competing for is a kidnapped toppin. He is overtly malicious for no reason at all, all while being a wooden horse.
  • During escape sequences, if an enemy is in the path of a falling Gustavo or Mr. Stick, it kills them. It's easy to miss, and only ever happens if an enemy is left alive when going through the level forwards (enemies spawned in during Pizza Time will not be placed in the path of Peppino's guides), but it's worth a laugh when you realize that the developer went out of his way to include the interaction.
  • In John Gutter, the music is a very quiet and reserved track, until in the middle of the song an audible "MONKEY" can be heard. Stock monkey sounds as background noise can be heard a few seconds later.
    • Funnily enough, it's likely that you have met the first Swedish Monkey enemy when you hear this.
  • Occasionally, when one of the Toppin Monsters attacks you in Don't Make A Sound, rather than an actual jumpscare, a screen pops up showing the Mushroom and Tomato Monsters… celebrating Oktoberfest with Peppino, complete with yodeling instead of a scream.
    • Speaking of the Toppin Monsters, one of the level secrets require you to lure one into a floor made of outlets, which only they can destroy. Doing so causes the Mushroom Monster to fall down, complete with a "thud" sound effect, and going down the hole, you can find the animatronic completely wrecked on impact.
    • In addition, the last Toppin Monster is just a pineapple in an Elvis getup who has an unused jumpscare where they... give you finger guns. This still has the same scream sound effect.
    • When Peppino gets caught by the Toppin Monsters, he gets sent back to the start of the room, briefly turns into a toy and loses some points. When The Noise gets caught by the Toppin Monsters, he gets sent back to the start of the room, but as a corpse that lingers for a few seconds, implying that the animatronics violently killed him... only for another Noise to then drop down and continue the level. While it does cost The Noise a few seconds of time, he loses no points at all from this ordeal.
  • The Toppin Monsters' defeat sprites are certainly worth a chuckle or two:
    • The Mushroom Monster has a hand over its mouth, as if it were surprised at rude language or a fart.
    • The Cheese Monster becomes a solid block of cheese and has a face that looks like it's exhausted from getting beaten up.
    • The Tomato Monster has the bird of a cuckoo clock coming out of its mouth whilst also having a face of pure shock.
    • The Sausage Monster suddenly gains a face, and a fittingly shocked face at that.
    • And lastly, the Pineapple Monster drops his usual smug grin and looks like he's screaming his head off as his eyes are now visibly popping out from behind his shades.
  • One of the levels is a sewer level, which is rather bluntly named "Oh Shit!". (No, it's not censored, either — it's actually called that.)
    • What's more, if the player decides to have Peppino crouch on top of one of the "poop" tiles, the player gets a solid brown outfit for him, called "Shitty Cook". Also not censored, of course.
    • Mr. Pinch is a Helpful Mook in the form of a homeless man that gives you a lift for cash. Their only animation for this is celebrating over getting a single coin from you. You are that poor.
  • "The Pig City" has a number of hilarious moments:
    • The Hamkuffs are Pig Cops which attempt to keep you from running away, with a confident look on their face when they do. They clearly didn't have a plan for if Peppino decides to charge right back at them, and their death sprite shows.
    • One of the taxis Peppino takes ends up being a police car in disguise, scaring him. He ends up in jail, requiring a switch to Gustavo and Brick to finish the level. Once they come back and switch to Peppino, he takes another taxi out of the jail cell… only to be just as horrified to learn Pizzaface is the driver.
    • While the secret bacon room seems fairly ominous due to Bacon God, the gigantic pig head looming in the background and watching Peppino as it gets closer and closer, if you wait around in the room long enough, the Bacon God just smiles and gives a thumbs-up before disappearing.
    • Taunting with a pig citizen on screen will have them take a picture of you. They'll even do this during Pizza Time, while they're freaking out as the city around them burns to the ground.
    • The Pillar John is located inside the house of an old pig lady. She's in the middle of watching the "Gustavo and Brick Hour", which gives the two the opportunity to knock the pillar down. The Oh, Crap! face the old lady makes once she notices this is something to behold.
  • While most secrets in the game test Peppino's athletic or puzzle-solving skills, the first secret in Peppibot Factory is a elaborate contraption involving the Weenie enemies running into electrical traps, which then activates their "Can of Whoop" which then sends a fist at you, all the while more and more Weenies die running into the trap, forcing you to participate in a game of dodgeball. Its unorthodox nature is why there is a Chef Task centralized around beating the secret with no damage, complete with Peppino Flipping the Bird in the achievement’s icon.
    • Made even funnier by the fact you can trivialize this secret's contraption by merely Super Taunting, turning this rather risky game of dodgeball into just a few dodges.
  • The "Golf" level takes place in a rundown restaurant owned by a nerdy cheese named Greaseball. It is infested not only by Burger Golfers, but also Golf Demons and Pizzards for no particular reason, since they never engage in golf-related activities. Greaseball himself is so poor he can't afford golf holes and instead has to rely on basketball nets, Big Cheese wearing baseball accessories, gigantic flying noses, and teleporters that outside of this level only appear in Deep-Dish 9. The more you think about it, the weirder it becomes.

    Bosses
  • Every boss intro has a splash screen, but they have some frankly absurd Art Shift going on, with Peppino and the opponent being drawn with vaguely realistic proportions and shading. Special mention goes to Pepperman, who gets a full on Anthropomorphic Shift with a buff physique (complete with paint-stained shirt and apron that he never has anywhere else in the game).
  • In the fight with The Vigilante, if you don't pick up the gun at the start, he will stare directly at the player with unconcealed disappointment.
    • If you’re playing as the Noise, in the final quick draw section, he cheats and shoots the Vigilante before the game gives the command to fire.
  • The fight against The Noise provides several:
    • One of the first things he does, and will sometimes keep doing to signal he can be hit, is flip you off. He's just so blatant about it.
      • The bird he flips at the start of the fight actually counts as a vulnerability window, and if Peppino moves fast enough, he can land that hit. This brings up the rather hilarious visual of Peppino immediately going for the throat when confronting The Noise, which is very appropriate to their relationship.
    • After you defeat the first phase, a giant balloon made in The Noise's images crashes into the ground, knocking out the cameramen and scaring both Peppino and The Noise, who simultaneously scream in terror. Before the second phase starts, Peppino gives his opponent a very angry "What the hell was that?" expression, while The Noise looks aside with a nervous Slasher Smile.
    • The battle ends with The Noise getting a minigun and preparing to turn Peppino into pepperoni, but then Noisette comes in and drags him offscreen while he screams in terror and a piteous tuba version of his Leitmotif plays.
    • The last health point only disappears when Noise and Noisette go completely offscreen. What did she do to him?
  • The Noise fights his knockoff "The Doise" on Floor 3, and upon defeating him, fellow joke character Peddito comes flying in and kills The Doise. This leaves nothing but a corpse in the arena if you return after, with The Noise happily getting an instant P Rank as a result. During Pizzahead's battle, he'll actually pick up The Doise's corpse and it will linger on the screen for a while before falling off to make way for Fake Peppino.
    • The boss intro is also worth noting. With most of the other bosses, The Noise simply yawns and pulls out a bomb. With The Doise, however, The Noise stares at his doppelgänger in surprise before turning towards the player with a look that says "Who IS this guy?!" while pointing at him.
    • In the final battle, dancing on his corpse awards you new clothes.
  • While the Fake Peppino fight is rather creepy, the running animation for Fake Peppino when it takes its mask off (or head; whatever the hell it throws leaves its brain casually exposed) is quite humourous with how it runs around while flailing its arms in a silly fashion.
  • Fake Peppino's creepy restaurant is named "Peppino's Pizza 2". Apparently the thing's off-kilter enough to think food joints can have sequels. That, or it watched The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and took the "Krusty Krab 2" idea too seriously.
  • Fake Peppino's final phase has restored Rubberband AI in The Noise's scenario, making it appear to be an harder chase scene. But if you do get caught, The Noise makes a Nightmare Face of his own and angrily screams at Fake Peppino to drive him away. The monster just leaves like a dejected puppy.
    • Even better is that the sprite in which The Noise screams at Fake Peppino is called "watchitbub" in the game's files!

    Ending
  • The bosses of the first 4 floors all have looming, ominous boss doors once bought from Mr. Stick, with elaborate decorations and an eerie background of the boss glowering at the screen, standing two or three times as tall as Peppino… And then when you reach the fifth floor, the final door you buy, leading to the game's final boss, is just a plain stone arch hardly any taller than Peppino.
  • The run towards the final battle with Pizzaface is pretty tense, but then comes the random moment where you find him taking a shower. He nervously peeks out of the curtain before sheepishly flying away.
    • Walking in on him in the shower gets even funnier when you consider that Pizzaface is, well, a pizza and a mech being piloted by Pizzahead.
  • Pizzahead himself gives a few laughs during the final showdown. Starting off, when Pizzaface opens up revealing he's a pizza mech, it shows Pizzahead reading a newspaper on the toilet before getting blasted out.
    • When pulling out something from the bottom of the screen, he may sometimes pull up a tall pinup poster of himself wearing a bikini before dropping it in favor of something else. Given his expressions when this happens, you can practically hear him say "How Did That Get in There?"
    • He can also sometimes break off and pull up an entire chunk of the tower (sending enemies into the stage), his face all but screaming "whoops" as he watches the Forknights fall onto the stage, then whistle casually as he pushes it back down with a finger. If you look closely, what he actually grabbed is the handle of a Knight transformation sword from Pizzascape, and he has to pull so hard on it that his arm temporarily beefs up in strain, indicating that Pizzahead (unlike Peppino) is so utterly unworthy of drawing it from the stone that the level broke first. In his own tower, no less!
    • One of the things he can pull up is the TV HUD that has been a part of the entire game. It even has Peppino screaming in terror on it. A beta version of this attack can also be seen on concept art from before the game had the TV on its HUD; Instead, it featured a giant Peppino face in the upper left corner, and Pizzahead's arm would wrap around the screen to grab that.
  • Totally awesome as Peppino losing his peppinos is in the final battle, there's still some funny things to be seen. Such as the fact that he now rage dances while idle.
    • The No-Holds-Barred Beatdown he gives the returning bosses is a glorious sight to behold… but there's a glitch that can end up accidentally doing it on Gustavo in the middle of the chaos, after which the bosses just freeze up and look as if they're scared shitless until Gustavo comes back.
    • Peppino's angry dance? If you pay attention, you'll see it's actually Moe's self defense dance.
    • After Peppino ends the fight by piledriving Pizzahead headfirst into the floor, he stays like that, buried upside-down. His feet count as a platform. There's nothing to reach in the room, it's solely to let you style on him. Any player worth their salt will jump onto him and spam taunts until they're ready to move on.
    • The Noise triggers a Super Mode with rapid fire bombs to wreck Pizzahead and his cronies. He finishes off the villain by tossing a huge bomb at him, with a closeup of Pizzahead's flabbergasted reaction being shown before both him and The Noise end up covered in soot from the explosion. And somehow, Pizzahead STILL manages to get his head lodged into the tower as if he'd been piledriven into it!
  • The title card for the final level, "The Crumbling Tower of Pizza", depicts Peppino Atop a Mountain of Corpses looking triumphant for perhaps the first time in the game. While it's awesome at a glance, looking closer at the pile of beat-up foes reveals a few amusing details:
    • Gustavo and a Stupid Rat likely meant to be Brick are among the beaten up people in the pile.
    • In the center of the pile, behind Pepperman, is one of the smug rocking horses from Fast Food Saloon, which you normally can't hurt, only out-race. It looks equally as offended now as it does when you beat it to the finish line.
    • In the bottom left corner is the jester gnome (who poses no harm and in fact gives you a Toppin for delivering a pizza) from Gnome Forest. On the opposite side of the pile is one of the Gnome Pizzas from the same level, alongside the bee you could taunt with.
    • The jester gnome is sitting in front of the HUD TV, with Peppino's face on the screen looking as roughed up as the rest of the enemies. The logic of how it got into that state is questionable at best, though it might just be a result of the TV being used as a weapon in the preceding fight.
    • There is a cow from Oregano Desert sitting behind the rocking horse. It's the only thing in the pile that doesn't look roughed up, apparently as unflappable here as they were in the level.
    • A beaten up Pepperman, which is par for the course, until you see the beaten up Pizza Granny next to him giving him a flirtatious stare. Good to know he has fans.
    • Taking the cake is the fact that on the right side of the pile, leaning against Pillar John, is the masked ghost that appears on your combo meter. How and why Peppino managed to beat that up is a mystery for the ages.
    • And the capper for all of this is that in the background, on the right side on a cliff, is Gerome with an annoyed thought cloud, realizing that he's gonna have to clean all that up.
  • A few characters that follow you during the Crumbling Tower of Pizza have unique idle animations that you may not even see.
    • The Vigilante is seen visibly panicking at the tower collapsing around him.
    • The Noise, on the other hand, dances around as his usual goofy, chaotic self.
    • Pepperman, unlike the other two, doesn't have a unique animation for standing still, instead it plays his animation when you damage him during his boss fight on loop, giving the impression that he's screaming for his dear life. Poor guy.
  • Peppino is a Good Guy and lets his former enemies follow him out of Pizza Tower as it collapses. The Noise, on the other hand, just whacks everyone except Noisette, one of the Noise-like minions, and a bucket of water out of his way.
  • Final Judgements:
    • Beating the game with under 50% results in a screen where Peppino is happily giving a double thumbs up with "YOU SUCK!" in rainbow letters.
    • The 100% ending screen. Depending on your clear time, it's either a "WOW" or a "HOLY SHIT!!" with Peppino looking flabbergasted.
    • There's a unique ending screen for speed runners who clear the game in under 2 hours. It's Peppino looking like he just ran a marathon.
      You are quick as hell!
    • One of the other ending screens has Peppino giving you a shrug with the ultimate "meh" expression while "No Judgement" hangs over his head.
    • If you get 72% or lower (like a 69%), you get a scuffed-up Peppino yelling "THAT'S THE ONE, OFFICER!" while a Hamcuff menacingly stands behind him with a nightstick in his hand, angrily glaring at you (In the original version, you got this ending by hurting Peppino a lot, hence why he's beat up).
    • The Noise's judgements are framed as him reacting to the review score of his film. From worst to best, he cries and blames an annoyed Noisette for failure, jump scares the viewer while saying "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU", blames Gerome instead, complains about just above average scores and smugly takes all the credit for a near perfect one. Also, one of the two speedrun achievements is him angrily telling the player to "SLOW DOWN, NERD" while gesturing towards the screen.
  • The pictures during the credits.
    • Mr. Stick trying to run away with the money he swindled while an irate Peppino looks ready to get the money back with a Five-Finger Discount.
    • Peppino and Fake Peppino seeing each other in shock while they both take out the trash; Fake Peppino's garbage bag is full of his boss fight clones.
    • The Vigilante inexplicably attempting to teach the Toppins how to handle firearms. The walleyed Mushroom Toppin apparently can't aim for shit, as we get to see The Vigilante chewing him out for blowing holes in Pizzaface's crust.
    • Noise catching ghosts on camera while they're just out having ice cream.
    • Brick wins a hot dog eating contest against Pepperman, who stares at the former with a look of shock.
    • Peppino trying, and failing, to ride ratback.
    • Everyone in Halloween costumes. The Vigilante looks ready to go home and climb into a bottle of whiskey rather than go out trick or treating.
    • Peppino laughing and running away from The Noise and Pepperman after successfully destroying the tower. Even Brick is angry at him, all while Fake Peppino flails about mimicking the original's laughter. Peppino then offers free pizza to the angry mob to get them off his throat, which even The Noise accepts.

    The Noise Update
  • The TV images for The Noise bear mentioning.
    • His Mort HUD shows him chasing the terrified chicken with a beady-eyed Slasher Smile.
    • His Ghost HUD shows him raising his stubby little ghost arms in joy while Peppino, who was just trying to clean a house, rages at his presence.
    • The Cheeseball HUD for Noise shows him staring at a giant glob of cheese on a hot dog, with a giant doofy smile on his face.
    • Cheese Rat Noise's HUD shows a big-eyed version of the aforementioned rat form along with a Stupid Rat inside of a claw machine, as if to say, "Let me out!"
  • When the Noise dives down a pizza box, he just flat-out loses his shirt and a snorkeling mask appears on his face.
  • When paying the money needed to fight the bosses to Noisette, she thanks Noise's favour by smooching him.
  • If you manage to get to a combo of 25 as Noise, he becomes frighteningly demonic, just like in most of his animations. If a combo of 50 is achieved, he surprisingly turns into some sort of British-looking gentleman, complete with a monocle and cup of tea in his hand.
  • Noise's A-rank screen is him finding the score somewhat acceptable while stating to the player that he would prefer to have either an S or an P.
    • Meanwhile, Noise's P-rank screen ends with the Noise's cord breaking and him falling to the ground.
  • In GOLF, going over par simply results in the Noise raising the number by one so that he always gets a Primo Burg.
  • How does Noise use the Rocket transformation? By eating the rocket whole and literally transforming into a rocket shape that can fly and bounce off walls. It's as absurd as it sounds.
  • From The Pig City:
    • While pig cops are able to restrain Peppino (at least temporarily), Noise is too much for them. Running into one has them being wildly spun around by the sausage chain with a freaked-out expression on their face before losing their grip and flying off, squealing the whole time.
    • Riding a normal taxi has Noise force the driver to drive at gunpoint, with the driver nervously glancing back.
    • Riding the undercover cop/Pizzaface car has him sitting in the back with a sad expression and his hands folded, like a child that just got scolded by their parent. This can also be interpreted as The Noise getting arrested for holding the taxi drivers at gunpoint.
  • Peppibot Factory as Noise always starts with a bucket filled with water following you like a Toppin for no real reason (TV HUD even switches to a simple a bucket image with a simple background). It will help you exactly once, by splashing its liquid onto outlets in a difficult place. And yet for no apparent reason Noise decides to save it in The Crumbling Tower of Pizza over Mort or any other character except Noisey and Noisette; said other characters are just knocked away instead.
  • When reaching the points in Gnome Forest and The Pig City where Peppino switches to Gustavo and Brick, you might initially expect Noise to switch off to Noisette, or someone else entirely. As it turns out, he switches to... himself, with a title card announcing this.
    • In Gnome Forest specifically, the Gustavo and Brick tutorial sign is rebranded with The Noise, and Granny Pizza even lampshades the lack of change (while apparently also mistaking the Noise for Gustavo out of senility).
Granny Pizza: Weren't you supposed to bring your rat friend?
    • In The Pig City, jumping into a taxi during this segment has one of Noise's minions driving the taxi. They are significantly underneath the steering wheel while doing so.
    • After reaching the swap point during Pizza Time in either stage, we get another Waddling Head transition like Peppino's, except now the text reads "BACK TO THAT NOISE!" with The Noise's head cheerfully walking along, smoking a cigarette.
  • In Oh Shit!, during trash can sections instead of riding on a lid like Peppino, The Noise is instead spat out, with him displaying uncharacteristic unhappy look. Oh, and one of the items which fall out from the trash can during the animation are Pizza Tower copies.
  • If the Noise gets caught during the Fake Peppino chase sequence, he will outright No-Sell the boss's attack by making a Nightmare Face and scream of his own, causing the boss to scamper off like a puppy who just got scolded. Considering the straight Nightmare Fuel this sequence is for Peppino, this makes for a startling and hilarious Mood Whiplash. Making this funnier is the fact that the music suddenly stops, and the Noise just instantly returns to his idle animation afterwards like nothing happened.note
  • In the True Ending, after the treasures revive John, he's shown to be wearing a costume similar to Noise's. Noise dances in celebration, whereas Gerome is apparently just dumbfounded at the events that transpired, turned away from John in embarrassment, or just looking at the Noise like "Really?", depending on how you interpret his expression.

    Unused content
  • Noise's former A-rank screen is him scolding the player for not getting the highest rank (S, since P was not yet implemented in the playable Noise demos) while lowering his sunglasses and sipping some beverage from a tin can. Oh, and for some reason his moustache is morphed into glasses' temples.
  • Back when The Vigilante was playable, he, like any other playable character, had unique taunts. Unlike Peppino and The Noise however, he is clearly disinterested in posing for a player — The Vigilante instead yawns, turns his back on you, or covers his face. The game is serious business for him, after all.
