We get a flashback of Bill trying to drive the jeep with Keiko and Lee with him. Bill even wondered why they are driving in a crappy jeep to get to their destination.
Departure
After Lee and Keiko meet, we get a Jump Cut to her driving, and Lee is shown bracing himself with Keiko behind the wheel.
Secrets and Lies
If you look closely, Godzilla is furrowing his eyebrows as he stares at the nuke made to kill him, obviously curious at this brand new object. It blowing up in his face becomes a major source of Black Comedy, especially considering that it didn't kill him, but instead made him so much bigger and stronger.
Really, the fact that most kaiju here actually feed off of radiation makes it so that one can assume Godzilla basically got flashbanged while inhaling an all-you-can-eat-buffet of power at the same time.
This also applies to his facial expressions beforehand- Goji seems to be trying to figure out what this strange new thing that smells like food is.
The one time Like Father, Like Son is Played for Laughs is when Lee is trying to get the trio to escape in their van. Kentaro objects, and Lee snark's "God, you are your father's son". Apparently, even Hiroshi used to object that his Honorary Uncle would "borrow" a car.
While trying to escape, Lee asks where the keys are, unaware that they're using a keyless van that doesn't need one. It prompts May to yell at him to press his foot on the pedal and Cate has to turn on the van for him.
This is doubly funny since Lee is over 90, meaning he was already an adult when ignition keys were introduced, so he either forgot about starter buttons in the last 60 years or is excited that they have made a comeback!
When Cate and Kentaro complain that he Drives Like Crazy, Lee snarks that he's nothing compared to their grandmother.
While Cate, Kentaro, and May are in the abandoned ruins of San Francisco, Kentaro sees a rundown market with bags of Funyun chips, and proceeds to take one. He then starts to open a bag and eat them as they're walking. May chides him for getting the bag. Kentaro says that he'll take care of it by eating the evidence.
The National Guard soldier on patrol says that the others should start shooting up the stray cats since they're making their work hard.
Terrifying Miracles
There's a moment when Godzilla shows up in both 1955 and 2015 that can give you a giggle.
In Japan, when Lee and Keiko were having a moment, the device Dr. Suzuki made gets flung in the air, and Godzilla rises from the lake as if he's saying "Oh come on, I was enjoying my nap!" Alternatively, it can be seen as Godzilla being disappointed that the device wasn't a nuke, and spat it back out because it didn't contain radiation.
In the Sahara, when Godzilla wakes up and notices the protagonists, he, in his Grumpy Old Man moment gets up and walks away as if he's saying "Can't I get some peace and quiet around here?" and wanders off.
Godzilla emerging from a Vortice to confront the Ion Dragon? Awesome. The pose he strikes after entering for a second of his hands by his side like a disappointed father asking " OK, what did you do now? " to the assembled humans? Hilarious.
