Carly imitating her grandfather's Vietnam stories: "Pulled it out and killed the Charlie bastard with his own pigsticker!", particularly when Josh joins her in imitating him.
At one point, Riley is blatantly nodding her head to a song she's listening to on her phone. When the teacher forcibly removes her headset, she then angrily asks "What the hell?", as if it were a perfectly ordinary thing to do while in class.
Also, the teacher's reaction to the song Riley was listening to is a simple "You kids need to go to church."
What does Riley's mother say right before strangling her daughter to death? "I spilled my drink."
Being played by Nicolas Cage, Brent has quite a few of these moments due to being a Large Ham, but one of the funniest happens when Kendall is attempting to persuade the kids to come out of the basement and they refuse to budge:
Brent: Your motherfucking mother said to open this door! And motherfuckers, YOU'RE GOING TO OPEN THIS MOTHERFUCKING DOOR!
When it (unsurprisingly) fails to get them to open the door, Brent starts weeping, leading to this:
Brent: When I think about how things were in my day... Damon: Mr. Ryan — Brent: ...but now, the world you kids are living in, the things you've seen on the Internet, mouth to dildo, dildo to ass, ass to ass. Hi Brent! Anal beads! Things that I only saw in magazines!
Brent and Kendall trying to figure out how the kids got his handgun:
Brent: It was in a locked case! Kendall: What was the combination? Brent: Josh's birthday. [Cue flashback of Josh immediately guessing the combination, taking the gun out, and playing with it] Brent:[Realization]DAMMIT!
Kendall didn't even know Brent had a handgun until Josh shoots her, her first reaction when Brent finds her?
Kendall: Got a fucking explanation for this?! You really went all-in on the "midlife crisis" thing, didn't you? A fucking handgun! Really?!
Brent: Get your claws off me, you goddamn bully dinosaur! Brent's father: Fucking dinosaur? I fought in wars, you little shit. What have you done, ever?
Also, before the above exchange, the over-the-top howling noises Brent makes when his father repeatedly stabs him in the leg while he's stuck in the car window.
And then there's the ridiculously over-the-top slap that Brent delivers to Damon. What sells it is the absolute serenity Brent has winding up before he delivers the slap. There's a good reason why it became a hot meme in early 2023, becoming known as the "Slap of God".
Though it doesn't last, Damon and Carly slumped against the closet doors sharing an exhausted laugh over the absurdity of their situation is both funny and sweet. Damon remarks that having a single dad may have been the best thing to happen to him, as it may have halved his chances of getting killed.
