• In the English dub of episode 1, when Godai tries to patch up the hole in his room, he quips, "Let's see how the rodent gnaws his way in through that!" Unfortunately for Godai, Yotsuya busts open the hole again and responds, "I am not a rodent!"
• Kyoko driving.
• Godai saves Kyoko from falling off the roof. Unfortunately, he also grabs her bosom. Cue karate chop. Cue Dramatic Thunder. Cue Godai’s red face hand-print.
• When Mitaka is on a date with Asuna. He manages to convince her not to bring her dogs along. Then while they are driving he looks in the review mirror and sees the dogs are chasing after the car. Later on when they are at the beach, the dogs catches up to them, so he takes Azuma inside the car, but then the dogs surround the windshield, making Mitaka scared out of his mind and cling onto Asuna.
• How about in the first opening when Soichiro gets spooked by a car approaching him(that’s driving very slowly mind you), then he makes like Scooby-Doo, and jumps into Kyoko’s arms.
• The tenants try to help Mitaka get over his fear of dogs by reenacting how his phobia began. At first it works out with a puppy… until Yotsuya brings in a HUGE vicious mastiff. No point guessing what happens next.
• Godai’s grandmother and Kyoko try looking for him as he’s trying to find out if he passed his college entrance exam. When they spot him, his grandmother(who’s sitting on Kyoko’s shoulders) commands her to charge at him while swinging her purse like a pair of nun-chucks and hits him. Then she chews him out because she really wants to know if he passed his exams.
• How about the time when Godai saves Kyoko in the pool when she got a really bad cramp, then she sees his hickey (it was from a very drunk Sakamoto). Kyoko gets so mad that she bites his collarbone!
• IMO, the funniest moment in the whole series (which is saying a lot) is in Chapter 9 of Volume 9 of the original series (I don't have the VIZ translation, and the incident seems not to have made it into the anime. The English title would presumably be "Just One Wish" (一つだけお願い / Hitotsu Dake O-Negai).
  Kuroki called on Godai — and Kyoko — to help make up the numbers for a puppet Christmas play the old Puppet Club members were putting on for the nursery school the old Club Chairman was working at. (Bonus: there was some part-time employment money available, so Godai — in the middle of getting multiple rejections from possible employers — couldn't say no.)
  Anyway, not to give away *too* much, after the show Godai and Kyoko stopped in at a sidewalk oden-ya on the way back to Ikkoku-kan . . . and Godai let off a number of sad comments on how his puppet character's woes were hardly equal to his own. Before Kyoko can think of what to say to comfort or encourage him, he turns away from her and (a bit more nearly cheerfully) toward the play's storyline — it was a "three wishes" scenario. "Oh, how nice that would be to have three wishes," he says — "to graduate, get hired for a good job, and . . ." But of course he can't mention the third wish; all he can say is, "Let's head home."
  And then, after a pause, he says her name and turns to her with as serious a face as we've ever seen on him . . . and tells her he only has one wish.
  She looks at him with a wild surmise and a pounding heart . . . and he says: "Could you lend me some money? It seems I left my part-time pay envelope back at the nursery school."
