  • In Episode 13, while Sam is on vacation, Mike takes over as director, and at some points he starts acting just like Sam, even calling Mary a bitch.
  • In Episode 35, after being hit hard by the WB shield, a dazed Sam asks, "Did you get the license of that truck?"
  • Episode 46: After Scotty made Jimmy and Hank throw tantrums (their first tantrums in the series), Dave sends him to bed without his supper, and they bring in Guy to man the shield. Guy only ends up bringing up some logos like the V of Doom and the S from Hell. This eventually causes Dave to throw a tantrum, and he threatens to send Guy to bed without his supper as well.
  • Episode 51: After Sam bludgeons Scotty for messing up the shield again, a dazed Scotty calls out "Oh Mama!"
  • Episode 55: Sam and Mary have their tantrum lines switched.
  • Episode 56: Sam being called into Mr. Warner's office and later showing up nailed to the WB Shield.
    Anna: What happened to you, Sam?
    Sam: Mr. Warner nailed me to the WB Shield.
    Scotty: Holy Schneikees, Sam!
  • Episode 60: Mr. Warner, of all people, throws a tantrum when he learns that Sam's control freak tendencies may be incurable.
    • From the start of the same episode:
    Dave: Roll camera. Cue shield
    (shield comes up with the letter Q on it)
    Scotty: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
    Jimmy: What's so funny, Scotty?
    Scotty: "Q Shield"! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
    Dave: Didn't we do this gag before?
    Hank: Yes, we did, Dave.
    Sidney: Well, Dave said, "Q Shield"
  • Anytime Chez Monyou is mentioned.
  • Anytime Anna tries to do Sam's laugh, she has trouble pronouncing ROFL.
  • Episode 84: After everyone counts off, this exchange occurs:
    Dave: All present and accounted for, Your Samuelship, sir.
    Sam: "Your Samuelship"? Hahahahahahahahahahah soi soi soi soi rofl rofl rofl rofl!
    • From the same episode, the letters fly off the shield and knock Sam down yet again.
    Sam: (dazed) This is what I get for throwing a tantrum over bloopers.
    Mr. Warner: You took the words right out of my mouth, Sam.
