The first funny moment in this otherwise depressing sequel comes around during Mike and Mara's phone call. The heartwarming moment between the couple is interrupted by Mike's troublesome siblings, Austin and Zach. Henry's appearance is also funny and cute in that scene.
Matt and Asher are discussing the depressing events of last year...then Mara and Mike show up and suddenly the atmosphere is more cheery.
The gang's first meeting with Eliza is gold. The first ones to come out and meet her are Mike and Mara, who do their usual thing, teasing each other. Then Matt and Asher show up.
Even funnier, this might seem like a case of Hypocritical Humor on Matt's part since his list is as long, but then you remember that it was his mom who made the list, so he's subtly poking fun at her as well!
Not too long after, Matt suffers from Amusing Injuries when his dad accidentally gives him the heavier bag, almost as if it was a case of Laser-Guided Karma.
Just before that, Samuel's attempt to connect with Asher and Matt is equally funny. Also his embarrassment when he forgot to introduce himself to the clerk, who happens to be Dianna, Mara's mother.
Eliza is a Mikara shipper, no doubt. But at one point, she expresses herself a bit too bluntly...
Then Eliza says she wants to do an experiment...And both her and Matt lean on Jordan's shoulders. As Matt says, even ghosts can blush. Jordan retorts by calling them dorks.
A funny moment in an otherwise suspenseful chapter: In "Eventful Evening", Matt and Asher find out that their fathers were involved in a Love Triangle over Tiffani. When Hunter reveals it, he says very casually. Matthew has something to say about his delivery. Let us repeat, this is Matthew saying this.
