  • The Running Gag of Yuu being unable to remember his classmates' name.
    • Mai's irritation at it... And telling him he should remember at least the names of the cute girls.
    • Iwado too has trouble remembering people's names... And of course Yuu is surprised when he finally says his name right.
  • Yuu's friendly chat with Iwado. All of it.
  • Shin shows up at Yuu and Shogo's first duel... Wearing a helmet with Zeon's symbol and a scarf with the kanji for "kill" on his mouth. A Sawakoh student promptly mocks him for it.
    • The helmet is the same Shin wears whenever he goes on a moped.
  • At one point Mai sees Yuu being brought in the light music club, and, knowing they're delinquents, asks Shin to go there and save him. Shin hypes himself, starts running to save him in an absolutely ridiculous fashion... Then he remembers those delinquents are trying to bully the Thug Hunter of Shimokita, freezes mid-step, asks Mai who is he supposed to save, and says he'll go anyway... To enjoy the show. And he does.
  • When they're both having trouble with the Sawakoh thugs, Shogo suggests to Yuu they ally with each other. Yuu refuses, and suggests they instead become friends. Shogo and Shin's horrified faces are priceless.
  • After getting pointers on kicking from him, Yuu thanks Shogo, Shogo replies next time he'll have to pay him... And Yuu pulls out his wallet. And he has no idea what he's doing.
  • During his period out of his fighting form, Yuu was having trouble with three thugs... Then Iwado shows up and the three idiots do the stupidest thing they could have done: they make him drop his sandwich, and refuse to buy him another.
    • After crushing the thugs, Iwado asks Yuu if he saved him, and when he confirms he has Yuu buy him three sandwiches. Cue another conversation as ridiculous as their first.
  • After helping him regain his old fighting form, Shogo starts suspecting that part of Yuu's trouble came from having grown too muscular and decides to check... So he demands he strips. Yuu and Shin's reactions are priceless.
  • The wall around Setasho High is of course full of graffiti and writings... Including one correcting the grammar of the previous one and another calling out the correction.
  • After defeating Taka, Yuu notices that the delinquents of the whole town have started looking at him funny. Eventually, three of them corner him and Shin... And asks to take a picture with him, as now almost all the delinquents are Yuu's fans.
    • Shin takes advantage of the situation to make friends... With a ridiculous impression of Tsuchiya.
    • A similar scene is present in the 2005 drama too, only the delinquents catch him while he's with Mai... Who's left looking at the scene with her mouth hanging and two drinks in her hands.
  • After the events of the night of his second duel with Shogo, Yuu is depressed and ignoring Shin. How does Shin react? Flying Body Press.
  • While he wanders in town, Yuu finds the Muscled Koala bakery, and, curious, comes in... And finds a blushing Tsuchiya wearing an apron and a cook hat behind the counter. Cue Face Fault.
    • Gets even better in the drama, as not only Yuu is with Mai there, but Tsuchiya is with his friends that Yuu grievously beat up during his rampage for Shin's beating, and they see Yuu first and hide behind Tsuchiya. Who promptly offers some bread to Yuu and Mai and hits on the latter (who's freaking out).
  • Yuu's first friendly chat with Yoshii, partly due his shyness but mostly because of Yoshii's irritated face every time he does it.
  • After being invited to the school's boxing club by Yamazaki, Yuu shows up... Wearing the PE uniform, complete with gym shoes. With no idea of how ridiculous the situation looks.
  • After the first duel with Yoshito, Yuu realizes that he needs to improve his boxing and decides to take lessons from Yamazaki... Who is still terrified of him due the roundhouse kick that ended their fight. Hilarity Ensues:
    • At first Yamazaki doesn't even let Yuu make his request. What does Yuu do? He stalks him.
    • Yamazaki's WTF face when Yuu finally makes it.
    • Yamazaki at first refuses. Yuu begs him, even if he wants to hit him. Yamazaki does just that, before surrendering... To Yuu's Puppy-Dog Eyes.
    • As said above, Yuu showing up to their first training session wearing his PE uniform and Yamazaki threatening to quit if he does it again.
    • Yamazaki dealing with Yuu's admiration.
    • The faces Yuu makes when Yamazaki teaches him the counter... By hitting him in the face.
    • After the last lesson, Yuu asks Yamazaki if he can call him sempai. Cue Shin and Nakamura coming in to properly mock the two.
  • 2005 TV drama moments:
  • 2012 TV drama moments:
    • The two most unlucky delinquents in any version of Holyland: they try and molest Sang Mi-that is, Mai's counterpart. Who is actually trying to warn them her older brother will make them pay if they don't stop when Kang Yoo arrives and tries to talk them down... Only to be attacked by the two idiots who had no idea who they were dealing with.
    • During his very first appearance, Jo Gwang Su (Shin's counterpart) asks Sang Mi if she's a lesbian. She promptly hits him with her bag multiple times, tell her best friend (and his girlfriend) My Gyeong to kill him now, goes away, and then comes back to hit him again.
      • The reason he did it: he thought Sang Mi was trying to steal his girlfriend. Who promptly slaps him when he declares he knows she likes men.
    • After finding out Kang Yoo is the Hunter and tracking him down, Gwang Su drags him to a cafe and tells him he still wants to be his friend and will never abandon him again, concluding with "Don't worry. Nothing's going to happen yet". Then he looks out of the window and sees four gang members looking at them.
