• The reactions to Ollie's chili. Highlights include The Flash saying he'll weaponize it against Captain Cold, Superman using his Super-Breath to freeze a spoonful, and Batman stating it could use more crackers while remaining as stony-faced as ever.
• During Mike Grell's run, Oliver and Dinah are interrogated by the Seattle police about a vigilante who stopped a robbery and saved their lives. Lieutenant Cameron suspects Oliver isn't cooperating however, because after he speaks to the sketch artist, Cameron receives a sketch of Richard Nixon.
• In JLA #8, the second Green Arrow (Connor Hawke) has his quiver destroyed by The Key after the rest of the Justice League has been incapacitated aboard the Watchtower. Left with no choice, Connor grabs his father's old armament from the trophy room and gets his first exposure to the original trick arrows:
  Connor: Handcuff Arrows. Net Arrows. Boxing Glove Arrows? Dad. Oh, dad. You're going to be the death of me.
