Funny / Grave Encounters

• The cheesy opening credits have so many blatant similarities to those of the show Ghost Adventures that many people assumed Grave Encounters was a fan-made Affectionate Parody when the scene was put on YouTube as a teaser.
• Near the beginning of the film, Lance and the crew are trying to gather testimonials from people who have seen hauntings. The gardener initially says that he's only just started working at the asylum, but after Lance passes him ten bucks, suddenly he's worked there for over ten years.
  • "I saw a ghost. Right over there. It was really scary."
• T.C.'s tour of the asylum has its own running commentary as he tries to amuse himself while capturing B-roll.
  • "Checkers of the dead...king me!"
  • "The kitchen of the dead... I SAID COOK MY DINNER BITCH!"
• Something knocks out the floodlights while the crew is sleeping in the lobby, and T.C. immediately blames Houston.
  • "Houston, what's your problem?"
• In the sequel, there's a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment of Alex taking a piss near a dumpster, then flipping the camera off.
