After six (or seven) long years, The Merc with a Mouth and The Wolverine finally team up in live action for Deadpool & Wolverine which is set up to arguably be the funniest movie from the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Super Bowl Trailer

  • The fact that the first Super Bowl commercial was an announcement saying, “Trailer's online now!” set to air just before kickoff. Yes, they dared the audience to turn away from the freakin' Super Bowl right as it was starting, and knowing full well that a substantial part of their fanbase would indeed do just that.
  • Wade is trying to live a normal life wearing the worst Dodgy Toupee ever, along with a tacky polo shirt. The getup makes him look much older than his cancer scars ever could, note  and his birthday party looks like a bland family reunion, making him come across as even more of an uncool, retired geezer. The TVA agents make a point of ripping off and stomping on the wig when they apprehend him.
  • Wade is greeted at the door by TVA agents brandishing pruning sticks.
Wade: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa... Is that supposed to be scary? Pegging isn't new for me, friendo … but it is for Disney. [glances at the camera]
  • Wade wakes up greeted by Paradox (a TVA Agent played by Matthew Macfadyen).
Paradox: Mr. Wilson. You appear to have soiled yourself while unconscious.
    Wade: I wasn't unconscious.
  • During the suit-up, there are two scenes of white gloves giving a nice pat on Deadpool's ass and cupping his balls.
  • The fact that the main fight of the trailer... takes place next to a collapsed, dilapidated, and half-buried Twentieth Century Fox logo.
  • Wade's response to being The Chosen One? "I am the Messiah. I...am...Marvel Jesus."
  • Wade's response to a handcuffed TVA agent being yanked away by Alioth? “OH MY FUCK!”
  • Wade facing down Logan … having been knocked on his ass:
Wade: Don't just stand there, you ape. Give me a hand up.
    [Snickt!]
Wade: Nope! I'm actually okay, thank you very MU—

Main Trailer:

  • Wade's first meeting with Logan is packed with laughs.
    • What does Wade say upon meeting Logan? "Hi peanut."
    • As he tries to get Logan to leave the bar with him, Logan declines, calling Wade a "lady" as he does so. Wade then tries to drag Logan out of the place.
    • Angered by this, Logan tries to unsheathe his claws, but they occur slower than expected. Wade's response is purely hilarious.
Wade: Whiskey dick of the claws. It's quite common in Wolverines over 40. note
      Logan: You don't want this.
Wade: (Aims a pistol with the words "Smile. Wait for the Flash" engraved on it straight at Logan's head) Unless you want to take a deep breath through your fucking forehead, I suggest you reconsider.
    • In response to Wade's threat, Logan (who has a Healing Factor and an adamantium-coated skull) just smirks and presses his forehead against Wade's gun, daring him to shoot.
    • The crack about "Wolverines over 40" becomes much funnier when you remember that Logan is usually depicted being hundreds of years old at minimum.
  • During Wade's fight with Logan, he takes three claws to the crotch.
  • Wade offers Logan the chance to talk about his past failures, lest a third act flashback reveal it all. Logan isn't amused.
    Logan: Ugh... go fuck yourself.
  • There's an insane, slow motion shot of Dogpool licking Wade's face, as an explosion occurs. Behind him, Logan is seen with a look of pure disgust on his face.
  • Blind Al offers Wade some cocaine, but he turns her down, as that was the one thing Kevin Feige said was off-limits.
Al: What about Bolivian Marching Powder?
Wade: They know all the slang terms! They have a list!
    Al: Even snowboarding?
    Wade: Even disco dust.
    Al: White Girl, Interrupted?
    Wade: Even Forrest Bump.
Al: Do you want to build a snowman?
    Wade: Yes! But I can't!
    • At the meta level, the auto-generated captions for some versions of the trailer will censor the word "cocaine", basically proving him right.
  • It's very much a Freeze-Frame Bonus, but the CN Tower is visible embedded in the landscape of the Void in the background of Deadpool and Wolverine's fight, across from the half-buried Twentieth Century Fox logo seen in the preceding trailer — apart from being an amusing cameo, it's also a fairly meta Actor Allusion to the fact that Wolverine is Canadian in-universe, and Deadpool is played by a Canadian actor (Ryan Reynolds). Just what Noodle Incident got Toronto pruned by the TVA?
  • In the background of Wade and Logan's badass slow walk, there's a ruined shoe store named "Liefeld's Just Feet".
  • A fight between Logan and Deadpool takes place in a Honda Odyssey, of all places. There's even a shot where Deadpool is seen thrown out like a cartoon character.
