  • As C.C. is talking to Lelouch after about why she wants to help him with his plans:
C.C.: To answer your curiosity, my contract with Sayoko is this: she will do her utmost to ensure your survival and not interfere in my relationship with you, whatever form it might take.
Lelouch: Your relationship with me? By that you mean….what, exactly?
C.C.: Precisely as it sounds. At the moment we are collaborators and acquaintances. I would like it if we could become more than that.
Lelouch: I... see. [Thinking] Does she mean what I think she means?
C.C.: [After Reading His Mind] Yes, Lelouch. I would like to become your lover. Or your mistress. Either will suit me fine.
    Lelouch: Can…I ask precisely why?
C.C.: Let me see. A handsome, honourable and strong man saves me from the clutches of an evil prince; directs a rag-tag crew of misfits to victory over vastly numerically superior forces; captures said evil prince and allows me to exact my vengeance against him; then offering me sanctuary at his own home. No, I cannot think of a single reason whatsoever why I might feel indebted, attracted and grateful to you in any way.
  • Lelouch's attempt to get Kallen to join the Student Council (and gain information on why she is in a resistance cell) are interesting:
    • It begins with Kallen is in class, acting like a meek, sickly and docile girl in an attempt to lie low after the events in Shinjuku and wanting nothing to do with being at the academy, when this comes over the loudspeakers:
Lelouch: This is an announcement from the Student Council. Could Miss Kallen Stadtfelt come to the Student Council Clubhouse, I repeat: Could Miss Kallen Stadtfelt please make her way to the Student Council Clubhouse immediately. And no, Milly, you are not to come running to see what is happening, or next time I won't help you with the budget.
    • Lelouch doesn't give the greatest opinion of other members of the Student Council during his attempt to Kallen to join it:
Lelouch: I will be frank with you, Miss Stadtfelt; I am in desperate need of help on the Student Council. Milly uses the budget up on nonsensical ideas, the Secretary spends most of his time trying to get a date with Milly and out of the two regular members, one is so timid and xenophobic that talking to her is…problematic…at best and the other member is actually fairly good with paperwork, but is a favorite target of Milly's teasing, so is stymied in doing her work thanks to that.
    • And later, when Kallen asks what the Student Council does:
Lelouch: Well, in the main, we organise school-wide events, set the budgets for the various clubs and act as a deterrent to Milly's wild ideas- or at least we try to anyway.
Kallen: When you say school-wide events, do you mean like the Culture Festival?
Lelouch: And the Crossdresser's Ball, and The Absolute Silence Party AND Swimsuit Day.
      Kallen: What the heck?
Lelouch: I did say Milly has some wild ideas, didn't I?
    • And later it is shown that Lelouch has secretly installed a camera in the Student Council Room that leads to a TV in his room that he calls the Milly Madness Detection System.
  • C.C. mentions to Lelouch that Sayoko's oath to him was one that doubled as a Love Confession. Lelouch is at a loss on why Sayoko would do that until..
    Lelouch: She likes me?
C.C.: [Sarcastic Clapping] Bingo! Give the man a coconut.
  • Lelouch decides that the best way to cause some confusion at the Administration Building is to use a backdoor to the system to upload some viruses that would misfile documents, randomly shutting down consoles and, would change all of the computer screensavers to Zero's mask.
  • Lelouch, in his disguise as Zero, tells the Kozuki Cell that Cornelia was planning on re-enacting the Shinjuku Massacre in Saitama in an attempt to draw him out. The group has various reactions of panic. When Lelouch asks for silence to tell him his plan to prevent that, Tamaki is still in a rant about Cornelia:
  • Lelouch and Ruben conversation in Chapter 18 has a couple:
    • First when, Ruben says that he know that Lelouch is Zero but has no interest in selling him out to Cornelia. Lelouch wonders why Melisande, Milly's mother, hasn't told Cornelia that he is actually alive:
Ruben: I 'convinced' her that it was in her best interests not to go against my wishes… if she valued her two most treasured items.
      Lelouch: Her life and liberty?
Ruben: No, her check book and connections.
    • Later on, Lelouch is trying to dissuade Ruben from going into a relationship with Milly by pointing out he's already in a relationship with two girls:
Reuben: She would probably see the other two as both a challenge and an enticement. She is pansexual, you know.
Lelouch: Really? I thought she was just bisexual and greedy.
      Reuben: That too.
  • Lelouch asks why C.C. and Sayoko wants him to gather more women:
C.C.: Well…I can't speak for Sayoko, but there are a couple of reasons I want you to have a small Harem.
Lelouch: I already have a small harem. Two girls are quite a bit much more than most guys have the luck to be with in the first place.
C.C.: Two girls are only a threesome.
  • The Conversation about the Student Council going to Lake Kawaguchi in Chapter 19.
    • It begins when all of a sudden during a Student Council meeting:
Milly: We're going on a trip!
The entire Student Council looks at Milly, then turn to Lelouch.
Lelouch: [sighing] Who is this 'we' you speak of?
    • Then after Milly explains about a summit happening there and Lelouch, "Celesta", Kallen, and Suzaku all say that they are busy that day and cannot go:
Milly: So it's going to be me, Shirley, Nina and Rivalz on the trip.
      Rivalz: Err… I have a makeup test then…
Milly: [With No Change In Mood] A girls day out it is!
Lelouch: [Thinking While Rivalz is Slumping Over in Despair] Ouch.
    • Then after Shirley faints after Lelouch gives her a complement:
Lelouch: I don't do it on purpose, Milly. Just about the only thing that wouldn't make her faint would be if I insult her, and that would just make her run off in tears. Do tell what I should do in this situation?
Milly: Take her on a date as an apology!
Lelouch: Not what you would like in her position, what I should do to stop her from fainting.
  • What's Kallen's reaction after arriving to the Student Council office and finding Rivalz passed out, Suzaku with a Nosebleed, Shirley and Nina blushing bright red, Milly and "Celesta" trying to out-flirt each other and Lelouch looking the same as always while all of them are dressed up as cats?
  • Nunnally has interesting thoughts towards some of the fangirls of her brother:
Fangirl #1: He's(Lelouch) so cool and distant!
Nunnally: [thinking] That's because he wants nothing to do with you.
Fangirl #2: He's so smart! I bet he knows so much!
Nunnally: [thinking] Of course he's smart! He's my brother!
Fangirl #3: I wonder what he looks like naked.
Nunnally: [thinking] You'll never know, you perverted wench!
  • Lelouch reveals his identity of Zero to the Heads of the Six Houses of Kyoto in a attempt to gain their trust for an alliance. Kaguya, one of the Six Heads who knew Lelouch before the invasion and believed he died during it, is in complete disbelief and demands Lelouch to tell her what she did to him a week before the invasion to confirm his identity:
  • Cornelia asks Nonette for advice about Euphemia's recent behavior, the Knight of Nine's suggestion:
Nonette: Stop treating her like a mushroom.
    Cornelia: Huh?
Nonette: Stop keeping her in the dark and feeding her shit.
Cornelia: [While trying to not do a Spit Take] Nonette!
  • While planning a raid on the Code-R facility Lelouch mentions that they will be using the Ashigaru in its first live run:
C.C.: Are you sure that toy of yours will work boya? You know how unstable initial prototypes are.
Lelouch: I took it a thorough test drive before we began packing for the operation, so I see little reason not to believe that it will work properly now.
C.C.: The first time your mother powered up the Ganymede, the left leg fell off. The second time, it did the splits and fell over.
Milly: That was a result of sabotage if I remember grandfather's notes correctly. As well as one idiot who didn't tighten a bolt enough.
    C.C.: My point still stands.
  • While Lelouch is dragging Kallen someplace to show her something, she's thinks about an encounter with "Celesta" she had the previous day and wonders why she can't just just say no:
Voice in the Back of Kallen's Mind: Because she knows our body like the back of her hand and makes us feel oh-so good. Imagine if she taught all of that to Lelouch~? Or even join us in bed with him?
Nope. Nope, nope, nope, she was not thinking about this. She had not just very strongly imagined being naked in bed with Celesta and Lelouch at the same time.
  • Kallen is flabbergasted that Milly would use the Ganymede for school events, like making a giant pizza.
  • When on a date with Kallen, Lelouch mentions that Nunnally is at her physical, and he can't be there because the doctors prefer him not there to loom menacingly over them. Kallen can barely swallow a snort at the mental image, in part because it sounds like exactly something that he would do.
  • One Britannian prince died because he was stupid enough to charge armed rebels on horseback armed only with a bullwhip.
  • Once the Demon's Hand Agents land in Area 11, field leader Vassago finds out Rolo quite literally cannot think outside of assassination mission objectives, and drives poor Vassago up the wall.
Rolo: Nothing of use, I did eliminate three people who were trying to find out who I was.
Vassago: What part of "low profile" did you not seem to understand, Naberius? I specifically ordered all of you to not draw attention to yourselves. How is murdering three random people inconspicuous? Particularly when they were doing nothing more than asking questions about a foreigner snooping about the ghettos. That is going to draw even more attention onto us!
Rolo: (genuinely confused) Is it not proper procedure to eliminate anyone who stumbles onto or attempts to interrupt the mission in order to prevent any information leaks?
Vassago: Oh, for the love of… (facepalm) First of all, this is not an 'assassination mission, this is a code-enforcement mission; we are acting on an entirely different set of priorities. Second of all, am I right to assume that all of your previous assassination missions have been short-term drop-in missions, not long-term infiltration?
    Rolo: (nods)
Vassago: (groans) Right, then allow me to point out that leaving a trail of bodies in our wake will have long-term consequences. If this was an in-and-out mission that wouldn't be an issue, but since we're likely stuck on this god-forsaken island for at least a couple of months it very much is.
Rolo: I do not understand. What is the issue with removing any obstacles that attempt to interfere in our mission?
    Vassago:
  • Lelouch noting that Suzaku's naivete makes him feel like a cynical old man sometimes, and mentally lampshades how weird his double life is that he's teaching a Knightmare pilot that's given him a real headache as Zero how to better socialize with his fellow soldiers.
  • Euphemia warns Schneizel not to mention "Clovisland" around Cornelia, as the sheer amount of resources Clovis poured into the project irks her. Then she critiques the name, with Schneizel lampshading that Clovis was a Giver of Lame Names despite his artistic talents.
