  • Right upon learning Ai Shindo's name after kicking the ass of two thugs who were after her, Ryo goes "Mokkori time" as usual, and, of course, Kaori shows up with her mallet to smash his head and keep him from lusting over Ai, telling him not to scare off their precious clients. Ai then wonders what kind of loonies she called for help...
Ai: (confused and embarrassed) Who are these people?!...
  • Mikuni and Kaori were childhood friends, but it's been years since they last met so they don't recognize each other... Until Kaori hits Ryo with a hammer. That he remembers on the spot. On her part, Kaori remembers him as "Weakling".
    • A later flashback shows that when they were in grade school she would chase away his bullies by hitting them with a wooden mallet similar to the ones she'd later use on Ryo.
  • After one hard day of asskicking and getting his head hammered, Ryo is tired and wants to take a shower and undresses completely, and he doesn't notice Ai is already in the shower until it's too late... Even though this time it's a totally Accidental Pervert moment, it ends the same way as usual for Ryo, courtesy of a pissed off Kaori.
  • The villains kidnap Ai and bomb the Cat's Eye café, and right as Umibozu and Miki are looking around the remains of the café they hear a voice that leaves them terrified... due to it being Kisugi Hitomi's: turns out the Kisugi sisters never actually sold the Cat's Eye, they just hired Miki to operate it for them and now they're back to Japan. And then Ryo shows up and does his usual thing... And Umibozu gets him before Kaori this time around.
    • The sheer contrast between Umibozu and Miki's fear and the sisters treating it as business as usual. Especially when Hitomi says someone will have to pay for the destruction and they look like they just lost control of their bowels before Hitomi specifies she means the people who destroyed the café.
    • Ryo and Kaori's reaction to learning who the three gorgeous women actually are... And them to Ryo's antics.
    • The girls' appearance makes a couple scenes from Kasumi Aso's two arcs much funnier:
      • Kasumi is a Hitomi Expy, and in her first scene she jumps between roofs while chased by cops led by an inspector resembling Hirano... Or, after this scene, Hirano. Who was somehow promoted in spite of being a Trigger-Happy Gun Nut.
      • At the end of her second arc, Kasumi leaves home and takes a job to stay close to Ryo... Specifically, she starts working at the Cat's Eye, prompting Miki to quip that a thief working at a cafe reminded her of something. Specifically of her bosses...
    • In the Cat's Eye manga, Ai Kisugi had once declared City Hunter incredibly cool. Talk about breaking pedestals...
  • Rui Kisugi's Tranquil Fury when helping Kaori to get into the Big Bad's building through the helicopter roof is equally awesome and funny.
Rui: (after kicking a guard in the face) Sorry to get rough. I'm still mad about my café getting wrecked.
  • In The Stinger, Ryo is going to Shinjuku Station because Saeko said she'll finally pay her debt. Turns out, she got the message board reinstalled.
