Running Gags:

  • Chamomile saying most of the funny lines in some conversation topics, which results in Chugga lampshading that he is the worst friend ever.
  • The allies he recruits in dungeons always kill stealing while he tries to show off something against an enemy.
  • Blaming Whiscash for the natural disasters.
  • Chugga talks as three people simultaneously when voicing Dugtrio by recording Dugtrio's lines two more times in post. And then by the end of the LP the voices start getting noticeably off-sync.
  • Chugga making fun of the Pokémon News for how useless its tutorials are.
  • Giving dumb nicknames to legendaries.
  • Chugga trying to give his Pokémon new Rare Qualities only to almost always get Notorious Restoration and redoing it.

Episodes:

  • Episode 1: Waking Upon the Other Side
    • While taking the opening questionnaire, Chugga cuts to a possible question that he thankfully didn't have to answer: "Your country's leader is in front of you. How do you speak to him or her?"
    • While reading the questions, one of the ones that comes up is "Do you tend to laugh a lot?" Chugga lets out a short chuckle, immediately answering the question.
    • Right off the bat, the game assigns Chugga a Pokémon that he definitely didn't see coming: a naive Skittynote . This especially catches him off-guard as he was expecting to get Meowth instead.
    • To nobody's surprise, Chugga ends up giving his Skitty persona a Punny Name. His hilariously-complex segue is what really sells it.
Chugga: But the name that I settled on has me going in undercover. I don't wanna give away my real name, you never know what could be going on in the world and what that could spell, so you know what? Emile's going in under some deep camo: CHAMOMILE, that is! HEHEHAHAHAHA!!!
    • In the tutorial box explaining that icons on the map mean, since the box says "You: Yellow, Allies: Green", etc., Chugga adds Ayla: Strong in the Middle; and "Wurmple: Dead" to the end (since there was a Wurmple right there after the text box closed)
    • Chugga finding pure amusement in some of the default team names. At one point, he manages to cycle through "Team Wisdom", "Team Courage"... and "Team Seedlings". Ooh, so close!
Chugga: Ah yes, the Triforce as we know it: Wisdom, Courage, and Seedlings!
  • Episode 2: Another Dynamo Duo
    • Chugga immediately feels guilty that Chamomile can't immediately recall the name of Willow after she had confided her dreams and given him a house and scarf, and then feels even worse when he sees Willow sleeping outside his house, assuming that she sleeps on the rock path outside while he gets a comfortable bed. (now with animation!)
      • After he's finished crying that he's a terrible friend, he follows up by trying to decline the next rescue mission. When Willow reacts in shock, he implies that there's not a lot of space for Willow's brains in her skull.
    • Chugga is ecstatic over DX axing the Scrappy Mechanic of signposts that have to be read from the front. You know this is a Berserk Button for him when he calls it the single best change from the original in the entire remake.
    • Chugga realizes how perfect it is that Chamomile's current main attack is Echoed Voice.
  • Episode 3: Village For Squares
    • Chugga now assumes that Willow was too embarrassed that she was caught sleeping in front of Chamomile's house that she now sleeps in the trees.
    • Now that they're finally introduced to the square, Chugga takes Willow aside to confide something...
Chamomile: (Whispering)' Hey, so um...I've been living five feet from a town for the last two days without knowing it, um...Does anybody have to know I've been eating and pooping in the same bush?
    • Chamomile tries to learn Sing, but Chugga declines because his attempts at audio are only good for harming others.
    • Chugga's unbelievable luck kicks in again at the end of his run through Tiny Woods, as he gets 3 powerful Technical Machines, including Blizzard, 3 Bronze Dojo Cards, a Rainbow Gummi, and a DX Gummi. All from his first day of adventuring.
  • Episode 4: Skarm Bliss
    • After not doing the Mt. Steel story mission right away, Chugga assumes that the mail is there to tell them Diglett died.
  • Episode 5: Camping with Friends
    • Though Chugga normally narrates every line in the story, when someone in the square says "Oh! It's Alakazam!", a voice clip from Pokémon Stadium saying the exact same thing plays instead.
    • Chugga decides to nickname Magnemite, and name him "Buzzy Boy" after what Ham calls Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story 2 Video Game. Though before he can confirm the name, his thumb accidentally hits the B button to change it to "Buzzy Bo". Chugga decides to leave it like that.
    • The fact that the day ends after the cutscene with Team A.C.T., preventing Chugga from going to the bank like he was intending to.
  • Episode 6: Bolstering Ranks
    • Chugga starts by using a bronze dojo ticket on Buzzy Bo. After what he feels like a good run, we go to the results to see he's gone up by...only one level. One static transition later and Chugga thinks it's a good time to show what the silver dojo ticket can do.
  • Episode 7: Sneaky Meanies
    • Chugga starts criticizing the Pokémon News for being redundant with tutorials, then he receives a free Wigglytuff Orb in the mail and immediately starts singing its praises.
    • Chugga sarcastically parodies the complaints many people had with Pokémon Sword and Shield when noting how small the draw distance is for some trees in Pokémon Square.
    • While listing the friend camps for the respective Pokémon encounters in the Sinister Woods, Oddish and Exeggutor are listed in the same camp. Chugga replaces their names with the appropriate anime clip.
    • Chamomile's fight with a Swinub. He tries to use Attract, but it misses. Swinub counters with Powder Snow, and manages to freeze Chamomile. Chugga interprets it as his heart being frozen.
    • Chugga tries to recruit either Linoone or Exeggutor to his team, but his party members continue to KO the 'mon in question, preventing him from doing so (the lead Pokémon you're controlling has to be the one to deal the final blow). At one point, Chamomile starts to get low on belly, so Chugga switches to another party member...only for Chamomile to start getting the finishing blows instead.
  • Episode 8: Shiftry's Stationed
    • Chugga shows no remorse towards Weedle, but assures it that at least it's not as unpopular as Simisear.
      • Weedle immediately gets revenge, as a later Weedle uses Bug Bite, eats one of the Blast Seeds, and KO's Chamomile.
      • The episode ends on the grim scene of a furious Zapdos kidnapping Shiftry for disturbing its slumber. This is immediately followed by the cheerful dungeon completion jingle.
      Chugga: Happy Ending.
  • Episode 9: Breathing Lightning
    • After mentioning how Chugga refers to Alakazam's team as Team A.C.T. because that's how it they were called in the anime adaptation, he then goes on a long rant about how everyone, himself included, was expecting there to be more than one episode because it aired with an exposition intro and theme song. Even in post-production, he makes a point to say that the adaptation had To Be Continued at the end, and was released in English first, so there was no chance of dubbing issues. Of course everyone would believe that there was more than one episode!
    • Chugga brings the Blizzard TM to Mt. Thunder, planning on learning the move near the end for the boss fight against Zapdos. What happens is that Zapdos is inflicted with so many status ailments that it goes down without even getting a single move off.
    • The Stinger, which shows Emile's reaction to a Pinsir using Seismic Toss to throw an Onix at him.
  • Episode 10: Great Canyon
  • Episode 11: Becoming the Enemy
    • After 11 episodes, Chugga finally opens with "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DIX!"
    • Chugga chooses all the funny options in the conversation between Willow and Chamomile, only to realize that he is the worst friend ever.
  • Episode 12: Can't Go Back
    • When using Double Slap on a Golbat, Chugga says "Imma slap a bat", then says that that's probably a sexual slang or that it sounds like it should be, then insists that it should be if it isn't. Following this up, in post-production he shows the infamous panel of Batman slapping Robin while yelling "MY PARENTS ARE DEEAAAAAAAD!!!" with the caption "This is what came up in a search. I'm sure it's someone's kink.".
    • Chugga has the opportunity to learn Charm. He debates on whether or not to replace Charge Beam with it, but ultimately decides to stick with what he has. At the end of the dungeon, it turns out that the box that he held onto contained the Charge Beam TM, so it would've been totally fine if he wanted to change his mind.
      • Even funnier, if Chuggaaconroy were to forget Charge Beam, Gulpin would have still allowed him to remember it later on.
  • Episode 13: Burning Questions
    • Chugga keeps throwing Gravelerocks/Geo pebbles at Slugma, failing to realize that their ability causes the rocks to get burned up (which the text box says every time it happens). At one point he does see that the tactic isn’t working, only to assume it’s from the rocks being thrown at corners.
  • Episode 14: The Bringer of Winter
    • Chugga tells the story of how only very recently, he learned that the meaning of unadulterated means "not diluted with other things" or "in its purest form". He always assumed it meant "not rated by adults" because he always heard the word in the phrase "pure unadulterated fun".
    • After the story, he appears to have trouble defeating an Azurill.
Chugga: Would you just die?! You're a baby Pokémon, I can't imagine killing a baby is that hard- that's a horrible thing to say and I will not go there again.
  • Episode 17: War and 'Buffet:
    • The impression Chugga does of a trumpet when announcing the Honorable mentions of potential Absol nicknames.
    • One of the nicknames for Absol showcased in the Honorable Mentions was "Spotify" as a Call-Back to Pandora from his LP of Emerald.
  • Episode 19: Team Blast:
    • In the beginning mission montage at Mt. Freeze, a Vigoroth was preparing Reversal, which does more damage the more it's attacked. All three members of Rose Thorn attacked Vigoroth, prompting Reversal to knock out Chamomile. Cue his reaction.
    • Subjectively speaking, his scream sounds like a cat crying.
  • Episode 20: Fissure, Man!
    • Chugga doesn't have the proper Friend Camp for Lunatone, so he decides to use a Wigglytuff Orb to buy it...only to realize he didn't bring enough money to buy it. He laments about this again when he finds a Cloyster.
    • Right before the sped-up footage starts, Chugga makes a comment about how Arbok's walk cycle looks sexy.
  • Episode 21: Breaking New Groudon
    • Chugga is bitter over not having the friend camp for Cloyster when it's such a good teammate given the Rapid Bulls-Eye skill. Just to rub salt in the wound, the game gives him another fainted Cloyster in the dungeon.
    • Chugga still seems to be bitter over the official pronunciation of Rayquaza.
Blastoise: Rayquaza? (pronounced Ray-Quay-Zah) What might that be?
Chugga: It certainly isn't called Ray-Quah-Zah...
  • Episode 22: Into the Sky
    • We get to see some of the nicknames Chugga came with for other team members. Some of the highlights are Boyfriends the Nidoqueen, Nipsleaf the Nuzleaf, Unrealized the Dunsparce, Hilton the Paras, Horny the Heracross, Meowth the Sunflora, and Sudo51 the Sudowoodo.
  • Episode 23: Explorers of Sky
  • Episode 25: A Song of Fire and Ice
    • To coincide with him nicknaming the newly-recruited Zapdos "Annihilatwo", which he admits is a pretty awful name, Emile proceeds to name Moltres "Melthree" and Articuno "Borealone"note . He realizes too late that the latter's nickname can be misread as "Bore-alone".
  • Episode 27: Smeargle Campaign
    • Upon finding a mystery house in the Howling Woods, Chugga exclaims "Oh-Ho', along with a picture of a color inversed Ho-oh.
    • He realizes too late during the sped up footage when he uses his one and only Wigglytuff Orb that he pushed B instead of continuing, because he wanted to make a camp for his Pokémon joining him on the journey, and it results in him putting on a Toad voice.
Chugga: That was my only Wigglytuff Orb and I accidentally pressed "B"! I was just trying to advance the text and I didn't know it would go away that fast! No! I was going to buy the camps for these guys I... (Puts on Toad voice) I EVEN USED A TINY REVIVER SEED ON YOU, YOU UNGRATFUL LITTLE B---!
  • Episode 28: The Bit Players
    • Chugga takes along Pollockson the Smeargle, hoping that he will learn a good move with Sketch. While talking about Pokémon evolutions, a Ponyta used Growl on the team, and Pollockson used Sketch, meaning he now knows Growl, and Chugga doesn't notice. He later talks about how he wants to be in control of Pollockson when he finds a move to Sketch because he doesn't want the AI to use it for him. It's only until he comes across an Espeon that he finally realizes what happened. All of this is emphasized by him adding WOMP WOMP WOOOOOMP during these moments in post-production.
    • The absolute chaos that ensues around the 15th minute mark when Chugga notices Smeargle just used the regular attack.
  • Episode 29: The Alpha Whale
    • Chugga finds a Mystery House in the Stormy Sea, and starts singing "Who lives in a mansion under the sea?" and then cracks up when he finds a Bonsly inside.
    • Annihilatwo the Zapdos seemingly cannot catch a break in the Stormy Sea, constantly missing Discharge after Discharge. At one point, he is knocked out by an Anorith. Yes, AN ANORITH.
    • Chugga is speeding up the footage, playing SOME nice music from FamilyJules7x, when all of a sudden....
  • Episode 30: All the Treasure Dungeons
  • Episode 31: Buried In Time
    • His impersonation of the Regis based on their sounds in Lucario and the Mystery Of Mew when he encounters them
    • Poor Chugga suffers a Trauma Conga Line thanks to a random Apple Trap getting rid of his Friend Bow. First he runs into a Mew which results in Willow and Effect the Misdreavus eliminating it, then he encounters the strong foe Shiny Ditto, his game crashes but thankfully autosaves.
      • He also enters a Monster House with both Mew and a Shiny Ditto.
    • He spends the entirety of his time in the Buried Relic looking for Mew. Mew is a Pokémon that transforms, so he spends quite a bit of time paranoid that any Pokémon on the floor could be Mew.
    • Chugga's original plan when encountering Mew was to use a Stayaway Wand, which teleports the Pokémon hit by it away and makes it petrified, against it. However, he moves towards Mew, resulting in Willow and Effect kill stealing mentioned above, because he didn't know wands could be used from a distance.
  • Episode 32: Taking Wing
    • Chugga, in the Grand Canyon, with his team members being slightly more powerful than they used to be, and with the stairs between him and a Kecleon shop on the first floor, Chugga decides to take a chance and STEALS from the shop. Those that know what happens when the player steals from a Kecleon shop are in for a treat.
    • Even better, a little later on, during a cutscene where the purple Kecleon complains about a thief stealing their wares, Chugga gets awkward in assuming that he's talking about Chamomile and Willow stealing from the shop earlier, with Willow speaking up. Fortunately, it's because of the purple Kecleon complaining about stolen TMs from last night, which Chugga completely changes his tune. He completely forgot about this scene and chose the most inappropriate time to steal in a dungeon shop. He even lampshades the timing of the situation.
  • Episode 35: Finding True North
    • Chugga recounts a tale in the original release, regarding the Music Box from the Buried Relic, and tentative translations. He was using Serebii as his resource for this, and in the original Rescue Team games, the Music Box was known as the "Orgel" (which is Dutch, and a loanword in Japanese). Chugga read the word as "ore-gel", and misinterpreted it as the toothpaste brand "Orajel" instead of a music box.
  • Episode 36: The Rainbow Hero
  • Episode 40: Down In The Trenches
    • When Chugga goes to the dungeon select screen and Joyous Tower is unlocked, he groans in disgust.
    • At the end, he names Lugia, Luigi.
  • Episode 41: Meteor Man
    • At the beginning he is caught playing Bug Fables. Referring to it as "therapy".
  • Episode 43: A Frozen Heart
    • Chugga imitating Gengar when Ninetales gives him the Ninetales crest saying "It's a Macaroon!" due to the shape of the item.
  • Episode 45: Wishing for Success
    • Due to unfortunate luck, Chugga has to bail on floor 3 of Wish Cave. In a monster house, his Entei-transformed Ditto faints, and is revived, but gets more damage. Entei swaps in but he's got low health which gets taken all the way down to 1 HP. His last ditch effort move is Eruption, a move that gets weaker the less HP you have, and does 1 damage each. Entei is taken down, and because he only brought along 1 reviver seed, Mime Jr. enters the awakened status.
  • “Arrrrrrgh, the stairs are in a Monster Ho-o-o-o-o-o-ooooouse!”
  • Episode 46: (FINALE) CELE-B-R-A-T-E
    • He runs into a Togepi that uses Metronome and it uses Draco Meteor on Charizard.
    • Chugga drops an F-bomb in a fit of frustration after failing to hit Pupitar one too many times, beeping out "fucking hell!" with dolphin chatter.
    • Because he never played the final dungeon before, he thought the 99th floor was a boss fight. Because of this, he uses his Guiding Wand on the 98th floor, leaving him with nothing to use to easily access the stairs on the 99th floor. Good thing he spawned one tile away from the stairs, making the issue moot the moment it came up.
  • Bonus Video
Chugga: OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEA-
    • One of the last things Chugga does is show all the nicknames he's given to the recruited Pokémon. More highlights are Hey I'm the Grumpig, 1 of 30 the Tauros, Machopsuy the Machop, Ku- the Muk, Brittany the Spearow, ChumBucket the Smoochum, My People the Lombre, and Espeonage the Espeon.
    • The very first part of the fan art montage at the end has an artist's rendition of the "Pinsir throwing an Onyx" stinger from episode 8.
    • The very last bit Chugga does is rant about the cruel reviews Red and Blue Rescue Team have, compared to the positive reviews it got in Japan, ending the series off with "Why is America dumb?"

Other:

  • His way of announcing this LP is via an animated stick puppet show, allegedly copyrighted by TRG Productions, Inc.
    • Chugga himself is represented with his face on a popsicle stick. Said face switches between three memetic pictures of him from various times that are being used as Twitch emotes by his friends (in order: NintendoCapriSun, ProtonJon, and Lucahjin), rather than anything normal. They also perfectly fit his tone when they pop up.
    • In the preview, we get the backstory of the planning behind this LP; It was originally going be a Let's Play of Blue Rescue Team, after he finished Super Mario Galaxy 2. He was planning to start recording in January 2020, confident that the series was pretty much dead at that point. Then the Pokémon Direct in January 2020 that came out the next day revealed that Rescue Team DX would come out on March 6, 2020 worldwide...and now realizing that he had to wait until said release date to go through the new version and redo all his notes, he needed to replace it with another project on such short notice. He summarizes his reaction as such;
Chugga: Well, I guess now I have to wait for the March release date, study this new version, and just...rewrite all of my existing notes...and convert them over to the new mechanics, otherwise all my work over the last few months is invalidated and...obsolete on arrival...THAT'S OKAY! What am I gonna do now?! This was all I had ready! It's gonna be a huge crunch to prepare anything!
Chugga: HEY GUYS WANNA PLAY KIRBY!?!?
    • The time card for January 2020 is illustrated as a literal dumpster fire and superimposed with a raspberry fart sound-effect. The reason should be apparent.
    • The Windows Vista icon pops up on cue to "obsolete on arrival".
    • In the "HEY GUYS WANNA PLAY KIRBY!?!?" bit, he shows an image of Kirby headfirst in the sundae from the teaser for Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
